I’m a crystal newbie and I love learning about them more and more each day.... I watched your video on the mandmade crystals last night and it was phenomenal! I absolutely love rose quartz and amethyst! Thank you so much for the tips! I agree, a lot of the crystal jewelry I’ve seen seems a bit off because the colors are so vibrant that it kinda makes you wonder whether they are real or not... I do prefers the stones in their rough state 🥰
i’ve been suspecting my rose quartz may have been fake. but i saw no bubbles and it scratched my mirror super easily. probably still gonna get it checked out anyways just to be sure. thank you so much for this wonderful video! :)
@@ColdBrewBarbie Hi, i'm an owner of an amethyst geode/cluster that has been dyed blue. I think it could be glass or dyed clear quartz, how do i know if it's fake?
Wow, I had no idea that there is pink amethyst. I am going to go and watch the other parts of this series and yes I clicked the thumbs-up and subscribed
thank you so much for making these kinds of videos, it’s so thoughtful of you to help others spot game crystals. you’re an amazing person, keep up the good work!
Ooh thanks for sharing all your knowledge, especially about the Lavender Rose Quartz, as I have seen it popping up recently too. Love your videos, Barbie! 🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮
I actually bought a jewlers loupe and this can help identify inclusions in a stone. This can help identify natural stones if you know what to look for! I actually was able to tell my amethyst was real by examining it for inclusions! Awesome video! 🔮
I was buying some fake crystals, until I saw your channel. Thank you so much for educating us. Now I go back and forth from a seller's site and your channel, and compare the item before I buy it. I don't have money to throw away.
We have a shop where all kind of small businesses can sell, and they also have crystals, that are all different shapes and sizes. The one I bought is very misty but the sun still shines through. It’s a very light and maybe slightly faded colour.
General rules for spotting fake crystals: 1. check if they're a little cold 2. you can put some nail polish remover on a cotton pad and wipe it and if the colour comes off its fake 3. very bright crystals - most aren't really but some are 4. air bubbles (most have fractures and scratches but NOT air bubbles) 5. if they magnify text then its fake 6. for raw crystals, if u scratch glass and it does acc scratch the glass it is real because its harder than glass! 7. weight, they should be a little heavy. 8. sometimes you can just feel if its not right.
🔮 ty this was right on time. I got an amethyst stone wrapped for jewelry i had ordered and questioned if it was actually real or not. I think it was just treated.
Awesome, I have a literal house full of my precious rocks and gems . And I have a lot of friends that I assist in ensuring they aren't being taken advantage of in regard to their crystals . Its taken me my entire life to learn, and even now I'm still learning. But its amazing, now with the huge boom and high saturation in the crystal market - how many fakes etc there are out there.
I know this is old but thank you for this video, it's still so helpful! Now I know not to spend too much on "pink amethyst". Honestly, I love it. Don't get me wrong I love the deep clear pink hues in the better stuff but I can't help but be drawn to the purpley pieces as well. I'd rather spend my money with shops that don't misrepresent their pieces and if I can save on something I enjoy aesthetically I want to!
Thank you so much for making this video, I’m going to watch your other videos for real and fakes! As a seller, I want to gain more knowledge! Also, as far as the lavender rose quartz, it is more expensive than the rose quartz even though your video explains that it is a lower quality rose quartz. But the quality I have is pretty good! 🙂 thank you again for sharing your knowledge!!! 💜✨💜✨💜✨
Yeah I think the suppliers know its in high demand so they mark it up so you pay more. My supplier is really honest and shared this with me. My main suppliers don't even sell it because its not good quality, but now that there is a demand and they'll make good money they may start!
I just bought some rose quartz beads from Etsy advertised as "startlight mozambique rose quarts" they look identical to what you show at 2:10, they were advertised as 100% natural ☹️ I didn't know this is what irradiation looks like, thanks for the info.
I have a amethyst bracelet that I wear all the time. It’s very dark. But has sooo many ranges in color. I was disappointed when I saw the brownish yellow in the stones. But now after this video I know it’s just citrine! Now I think I love it even more! By the way. I have suffered for over 40 years with severe migraines. My amethyst bracelet and my rose quartz necklace are the ONLY things that have given me any type of relief. Seriously my next step with the neurologist was having my spinal fluid drained. I’m a total believer in the power of crystals now!
I just discovered your channel today and I love it so much, I'm so glad you have a shop and tell us about your seller and how to spot genuine or fake crystals because it's best, when you have a passion for crystals as much as I do, to be spending your money on the properties they have although some man made crystals have properties as well. If you ever need an ambassador, I'm working on an account to review and rate products on instagram I'm trying to get that up and running because I'm just starting and I would love to show some crystals on there 🔮❤️❤️
@@ColdBrewBarbie they recently became sought-after here in my country, Philippines. Mostly from china and they call it "sakura agate" instead. I've wanted to buy some but now I'm skeptic haha..
I have another one, for banded agates that are relatively thin (the thickest I tested it on was 0.5 centimetres)! I can't exactly tell if it's a foolproof thing as it's only based on my experience comparing the real ones to glass fakes but here goes - agates typically have lighter bands that don't seem particularly translucent. If you turn on your phone flashlight (or any flashlight really) and hover the agate directly over it however, the light should be able to shine through the lighter bands if the agate is real. If it's a glass fake, the light will be evenly spread (typically barely passing through) unless there are parts that are clearly translucent even without the flashlight.
I did comment on another video, hello again 😆. I’m writing it again because you might have a higher chance of seeing it LOL. Can you do an ep on spotting fake tourmaline? I know that there are so many colors but if you could narrow down a couple (black, pink, or greens possibly) that would be awesome! I just got a piece of green tourmaline and want to make sure it is genuine
I just love your videos, they are so helpful! 💓I wondered if you or anyone else could help with packaging advice? I watched your other video on packaging larger crystals and that was amazing. I wondered how everyone is packaging tumble stones? Just one itself or a pack of them. I've been through about 10 different options so far and not sure what's best. I feel like they're going to chip in transit. Thanks again Barbie, you're my favourite RU-vidr to watch x
Hello I'm new to your channel, learning a lot😊. Quick question where do I put my crystal, does it have to have a plates or it's okay to just place on a table.. Thanks
Well, I wasn't sure what to expect but I'm pleased with your video and have subscribed. I've had my fair share of crystal training that I paid for as I'm sure most people on here have and those people are tough. I now sell and every now and then I'll sell a color enhanced product, which I do clearly define. I an just glad you acknowledge the color enhanced variations. My school would have chewed my head off. 🔮
🔮 I love these videos! They're so helpful! You probably already have this in the works, or at least on a list somewhere, but I was told by a seller that they don't even bother caring about Heat Treated Amethyst being sold as Citrine.
What a Great and right to the point video.! I see a lot of these fake Crystal's misrepresented as well. Especially the picture of the last Amethyst cluster you showed, I keep seeing this as a New Rare Find, when actually its man made.
I really wanna buy an amethyst crystal, what does real amethyst feel when touching?? And girl I love your channel I am gonna watch all of your videos now🥰🥰🔮
Thank you for your videos, I have a crystal business I started watching your videos. I have many special pieces that seem to be hard to sell because I love Crystal so much. How do you let them go?
Mam I came to know that before using rose quartz,we should soak it in salt water to purify it. And in one video someone told it's important to soak it for 3days in salt water just to check whether it's a real rose quartz or a coloured one specially if I wish to intake the over night rose quartz soaked water in daily basis. Now my question is if I soak it in salt water for such a long time, wouldn't it absorb the salt in it? And salt is not good for our skin no? So after soaking in salt water and then cleaning in tap water, would it gonna give us that glow to our skin when we will use it for rubbing it in our skin?
Hello i am a crystal newbie and i have a couple of questions (i am not from england so i dont know a couple of things that people from any english speaking country probably know) 1. what is manefesting? Please do more i love this series are you able to do Sodalite Howlite Agate New jade Gold tigers eye Pyrite Brecciated jasper Dalmatian jasper Snowflake obsidian Tourmaline Kalahari desert stone Peach moonstone Fluorite Unakite
I have two questions... if one has a fake element, (jewelry of any sort) can you use it for color therapy instead? Secondly, would rose quartz earrings, i.e. mini spheres be considered authentic? After viewing your content, I find your input very helpful! 😊💚*
💍 . . . 💎🔮💎 . . . 💍 Great video Barbie ! Very helpful advice .. especially the info showing how Rodochrosite &. Flower agate can be used to fake Pink Amethyst. Would have probably never suspected that those two stones were being used as a substitute ! At least now we all have an idea on what to look out for. Thank you ... great to know ! 💎🔮💎🔮💎
Excellent video I'm a geologist and gemologist and can identify almost every gemstone out there your fake amethyst mainly comes from Japan Japan is a volcanic island contains no repeat no amethyst can go there so what they did was they lab grew natural amethyst add color dies to them which you can spot there are only two places where amethyst has red highlights in it that's Four Peaks Arizona and Russian amethyst Bolivian also is on that list so the prices skyrocketed for these natural amethysts which are usually dark with some truly red highlights. Like you say in your video buyer beware usually if it's expensive that's when you need to start checking. Because they enhance these stones to like you said get a better price
I have a 7 chakra Bracelet having Red Jasper, carnelian, tiger eye, green aventurine, lapiz Lazuli, amethyst, clear quartz . How to cleanse & charge it?
I have a stone that is supposed to be amethyst but it looks fake to me. It is purple, clearish , and green at the tip. How can I tell if it's real? Thanks for the information it is helpful!
Thankyou. I acquired a piece of what I think is ROSE quartz not Pink quartz. It is very pale pink and has one relatively smooth side. It did scratch a glass easily. It has a jewellery attachment for a chain on it. I hope it is authentic however its pale colour makes me think perhaps it is simply pink quartz. But i will use it anyway as there is no way for me to find out because of my location.
Hi, I just have a question. Does all Black Obsidian have a metallic sheen to it? I bought two black obsidian spheres, one with a glittery shine when held up to the light and the other without, but just pure black and shiny. Do you think the one without the sheen is normal or fake?🔮
i’m new to this whole crystal thing, but when i was younger my grandma used to have a jar of rocks and one time i found a rose quartz in it (i think it is at least) except it’s shaped into a heart. it’s a light pink and i’ve had it for years but never realized it could be a crystal! does it being shaped into a heart mean it’s fake? or is it normal for people to shape them?
🔮 I wish I would've found ur channel sooner. Being a baby witch, I did buy some fake crystals unbeknownst to me 😅. Now I know, lesson learned. I will be using ur teachings/knowledge from now on. 💖
I find that there are two kinds of lavender rose quartz.. the kindd you showed which i agree are lower quality rose quartz. but the higher priced true lavender/pale violet stone sometimes called lavender moon quartz that looks like girasol but is purple. i have some pieces like this and looove them.. i have no idea if rare but they are pricey
