This is a continuation from a video I create a while back, expanding on a few more things to look for.
This video covers fake boxes, box flaps, why some have standard folds and some have Y folds.

I noticed some Red and Blue Boxes on ebay have a different built in cardboard insert. The edge that is not touching the inside side wall of the box ends in an incline unlike your Red and Blue Boxes which ends in simple square angle. These different built in inserts also have their own flap which is folded three times which the last fold is pressed down by the box's top flap when closed to secure the game in its compartment.

Thanks for all of your experience spoting fake games, is helping me a lot. I dont´t know if you have plans for a part 5, but it would be great a guide for identify fake instruction booklets and included papers (like the club nintendo code and gameboy player ad on gen 3 games). Greetings from Brazil!

Agreed, it would be nice to see some information regardings the papers and booklets. I bought an european blue version but it had a USA manual, I beleive it is a fake cuz the colors do not look right on the manual and also didn't come with an insert. I paid quite big for this and I am a lil dissapointed but at the same time relieved that atleast the box is authentic. A little worn ofcourse, but I think it would be cool to collect screenshots/videos from youtube unboxings of the games and bundling them in one video to see if one's papers and manuals are the real deal.

Hello your videos have been super helpful for me in determining authenticity of my games so thanks! However I have one question about heartgold. You don’t mention this on your video but i saw in another video that the grey rectangle under the “o” in “Nintendo” on the top of the DS cartridges is supposed to have ridges inside of it (up until black 2 and white 2 at least). However mine is just a regular grey rectangle without the ridges. I think basically the same as 3ds games look. Is this a tell tale sign that my game is not authentic? Everything seems to check out with my game other than that. Sorry little hard to describe without showing a picture

Are you talking about the TM inside of the circle? None of mine have those, and I know for a fact mine are legit as I purchased them from the store new or had them preordered. My guess is that the TM was too small of a detail to print inside of the molding.

These videos were very helpful. Can you do one for silver , gold and Chrystal?

Hi, I saw a Pokémon red with the white E, with Y fold and the wide white insert, is that a legit one ?

That Pokémon red unboxing looks super fake. It’s probably the video quality as you mentioned but yikes.

Could u do one for GBA Pokémon games and boxes? And also I’m trying to find a website with all of the different releases of Pokémon red blue and yellow and have found nothing. And when I say different releases I mean in terms of the stamp number and the black vs white E logo. Is there any website I can find that information Bc I can’t find it anywhere

I no longer own the boxes for the GBA games. I plan on reacquiring those when the price drops again. As for the numbers, no there is no list. I have comprised a list myself in the previous video. Please see here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qxdg6lX99uw.html

I'm struggling with purchasing a genuine gameboy color game (yellow) I'm from the UK 🇬🇧, and all the boxed I come across don't seem to have the nintendo seal od the E for everyone on the front of the box does this mean they are fake ?
@hipojoe
@hipojoe 2 года назад
From what I understand, only the US version had the E rating. The seal of approval, I am not sure about.

I personally don’t get old games in boxes, I just like making my own custom arts for myself and even edit them slightly, I.e: PEGI (and sometimes USK or even BBFC) ratings since me and my friends are in the UK and my friends prefer that rating system, sometimes text and system names (like Sega Genesis aka Mega Drive).

Hey German Boxes are different are they?
@hipojoe
@hipojoe 3 года назад
I only have experience with US games, but I think that the quality seal from Nintendo should be the same across all regions.

Yes, German versions are different, but identical to the English European version.

could you explain how you made that display or where you got it
@hipojoe
@hipojoe Год назад
I made it. Its a shadow box I picked up from walmart (thats the frame), and then I used three layers of cardboard for the mounting of the boxes. One solid piece along the back, and two layers with wholes cut out for the boxes/games. After that I got a large black piece of construction paper, cut slits for the wholes and there you have it. Glued it all down with hot glue (not the games obviously). The badges can be picked up on amazon, the figures you can find on ebay. They are from the 20th anniversary TCG collection.

@@hipojoe do you have a link for the frame from Walmart or something similar
@hipojoe
@hipojoe Год назад
@@Lord_Squidy No I do not. It was several years ago when I made it. The size of the box is 10x21 on the outside. Honestly, it could be a bit bigger on the 10 side. Just go to amazon and search for 'shadow box 12x24'. There are several that show up... sadly, they look to be pretty expensive on there... Around $60. If I remember correctly, I paid $17 for mine, but that was back in 2018.
