HOW TO SPOT Real vs Fake Balmain Jeans | Authentic vs Replica Balmain Guide 

Quick note: Balmain uses both YKK and Lampo zippers on their jeans. The nicer models have Lampo tank zippers that are nickle plated; on the back of the pull tab they will either say Lampo/Lampo Italy (older models) or Balmain Paris (newer models). The mass produced models have YKK zippers that are make to resemble the Lampo tank zippers; their plating is inferior, and on the back they just say YKK. So authentic Balmain jeans (balmain in general) can have either YKK or Lampo zippers; the model pictured in this video has YKK zippers. The zippers will always be consistent, either all Lampo or all YKK; Balmain does not mix and match on the same piece. Most of their models use YKK zippers today, the Lampos are saved for their jackets and limited bottoms. If you have a pair of Balmain and the zippers are blank or say anything other than the aforementioned, they are FAKE.

If you can't spot fake jeans from a mile away, you probably shouldn't be buying designer jeans.

One thing I've spotted often is the shape of the Biker Ribbing above the knees, with the Legit pairs having a sharper angle as they approach the inside of the thighs just above the knees, its more angular and clean; the panel closely resembles a triangle. Whereas the biker panels on the Reps are often larger and aren't as angular, sharp/sharp as the real ones; they also look more like a slightly warped rhombus as opposed to the triangle. Another note, the biker panels on Balmain jeans are always just above the knees when you wear them, whereas the biker panels on Reps often are lower while the 'knees' often hang lower than kneecap near the tops of your shins. You used to be able to tell them apart simply by the biker rib stitching alone, Reps used to be wavy as sh*t and not uniform at all, whereas the Balmains were uniform and straight as an arrow. Now you gotta keep your eyes out for other giveaways seeing as the Knockoff market figured out how ti do good Pin-tuck stitching.

Didn't one say Made in Italy while the other said Made in Japan on the tag? You didn't say anything about that.

Also all the hook and eye closures aren’t all stamped with “waiste fastener” on authentics. And the silver also wears over time and the hardware breaks on authentics I been wearing balmain since 2011 and most of all my jeans are “made in Italy” with the exception of my baby lambskin Moto trousers(bought those from balmain in Paris) those said made in turkey and my all white denim pair which was my most recent pair I bought a few yrs ago that says “made in Japan”(got those from Barney’s) I’ve only ever bought balmain denim from Barney’s and balmain flagship in Paris. Your specs with the waist logo label were on point. I wish they woulda kept it that way and not this new hard panel logo

I have been to a lot of clubs, malls public events. An I personally have never stopped an look at someone's jeans an said "wonder what kind of jeans are those". Most of the time no one can even tell what type of jeans anyone has on cause jeans don't have that much branding. But hey I wouldn't be buy reps if I couldn't afford the real thing.

This only shows u how to tell by all the tiny details like tags and shit but u can tell just by the look of them like the wash on the fakes looks less realistic and the rib panels are longer and the ribs ain't straight which is a dead giveaway the knee stitches are straighter on the fakes and they are 2d whereas on the real ones they are stitched in a way that the knee panel isn't flat it points out so that your knee fits in it better and so u can bend your leg better also shit like the pocket shape as well

Oh shit, I found my Balmains on a Chinese website for $30. I didn't even know what Balmains were until after - i just picked them because I liked the style. Mine have the silver zipper. They may be fake, but who cares? As long as I like the way they look at fit, with the added bonus that the tag says Balmain and that no one would be able to tell the difference by looking, who cares?
