The genuine MCM backpack is the latest/current version out right now and is a size medium. If you're using this video to try and authenticate an older version OR different size of the bag please be aware that you likely see minor differences in the side pocket stitching, stud quantity & straps amongst other things. Hi Yes, in regards to the zipper. I have a genuine “small” MCM directly from Bloomingdales. It’s slightly older but the zipper does not have the stitching straight down. The stitching is all around both sides. Don’t forget they all have “YKK” engraved as well. Depending on the models, they do have very slight variations. Great video
There are 2 levels of authentic bags ( level 1 quality is for the mass productions for high end rich people) level 2 is mass productions for regular people that will spend under $500. But at the end of day....there are no differences in quality wise. I'm on bag business...so..I know.
Also on the fakes of the newer version you can tell easily if it’s fake just by looking at the leather panel cut under the straps, on fakes they’re stitched/placed lower than the real ones, real 2017/2018 mcm straps have 3 patterns cutting off, the fakes also have smaller pockets from the inside, as the real one has very large pockets, and when wearing a real one, there’s a shape every real mcm backpack has when hanging off your back while the fake one just looks like it never looses its shape and really great video for sure it helped a lot of people 💯

I’d like to mention that i have an mcm bag straight from mcm (The model is mcm chevron backpack) and it has only one row of stiching next to The zipper and anotherone next to The zipper so two lines of stiching next to The zipper together and in The video you say its has to be 4 but acctually it all depends on The model of The bag

I bought a used bag and everything checks out except the straps. Mine feels a little too flimsy because it was used (lightly), but I have no clue how a deadstock bag feels. Are the straps just flimsy in general?

Hello, i was wondering if anyone could help me, please :( About the real one have the stitches lined in the middle of the zip, is really true that is authentic was made that way? So i bought a bag online, and the zip also has the stitches in the middle just like how you said it was authentic that way..but i recently checked the pic on the mcm website but it was all the way around the edges :( and now i was super anxious if my bag was actually a fake..can anyone help me please :(
What's the purpose of all this if there is a serial number why can that not be searched for by the designer to confirm it's real or not like some other designers I feel like that would defeat all of this if you could just look up the serial number at or with mcm and that be all

What if the bag has +50% real features vs less than 50% fake features, would you call it a fake? The pattern style of up/down matches real. 2. Zipper angle matches but with only one line of stitching 3. Zipper pulls it's just down the middle but does not have YKK. 4. MCM logo has nine leaves on both sides. I thought it was supposed to have 9 leaves on one side and 8 on the other, but I could have that backwards. 5. While the plate is well stamped and easily readable the screws are not actual screws they're just stamped on. The inside plate is just a logo, no screws and no serial number just leaves & manufacturer. 6. The straps are created by the fabric being folded over and stitched down the middle, but you can't really tell the logo on the outer straps. The fabric is stamped with the MCM logo on the adjustable part. The screws holding the strap to the adjustable part have the MCM logo. 7. In some places there is dual stitching and some places there is single stitching. 8. No dust cover Thanks for any advice!

I dont mind buying fake/replica or knock off brands whatever you call it. It's just a bag and besides i can't afford to buy one 😁. I am a cheap person and i would rather spend my money on a holiday vacation. I don't have thousands of bucks for just a purse. It's like getting "almost" the same quality whithout breaking the bank. Money wise 💵😄. Fake bags doing its job just like what the original one does.

Hey there is this kid at my school and I'm pretty sure his mcm backpack is fake and I wasnt really able to get a great inspection all I got was that there was a line under one of the numbers and I noticed while watching this vid is that on the fake one had a line under a number but the real one didnt i was just wondering if that was another way

@@JDTaylor623 U going above and beyond trying to authenticate somebody's bag. We use a phrase it's u doing to much. If his bag is real or fake. Who cares? It won't affect u either way.
I just bought 2 fake bags, coach and mcm back pack and i am telling you they look amazing at a very cheap price. Paying 10% of what the original costs 😂
