For everyone asking, sorry I haven't been active on this channel for years. The acrylic enamel that I used for this was a spray can of clear coat held upside-down and sprayed until the propellant was empty and then poked a hole in the can and extracted the liquid into jars.
Thank you for the reply! For any one interested in how to remove the paint from a spray can. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WwRdLgVYb5w.htmlsi=gQNTwdYzf49vY8gt
Finally a tutorial mixing resin dye with clear coat. I am maching new binding to old yellow binding finishing up a guitar restoration and I wanted to see the final product when mixing resin dye with clear coat. Thank you for the video DTH Creations
THIS is EXACTLY what I needed for my Glass Decorative Idea! Thank you for sharing this aesthetically pleasing and seemingly limitless color palette of options!
List the brand of the acrylic gloss enamel? Also the due drops. It would be helpful if you also list a link of where we can but them example Amazon, home depot ect
Great project!!!! What the the name (or brand) of the sprayer that you used as well as dye and clear coat that you used for this awesome project, and where can I get them? Thanks for sharing this project!!!
You'd have to check the heat rating of the paint you're using to be sure it would hold up. I'm pretty sure enamel has a higher heat rating than a latex paint though.
@@dhellard214 I will give that a shot. Thank you! I tried using the Pebeo Vitrea glass paints and it was a disaster. Granted, I was using a $10 airbrush from Harbor Freight with a can of air (I don't have a compressor)...
The spray gun is a HVLP gun (high volume low pressure) and the clear coat is from a spray can of clear coat. I just held the can upside-down and sprayed until all the pressure and propellant was gone and then punched a hole in the can and poured the contents into a jar. The dye comes from alumilite.com. Hope that helps.
Is enamel clear coat flexible? I want to try this on flexible plastic film that is typically used for packaging so its very flexible. I cant use it if it dries hard qnd cracks or flakes off
How would you assume this would turn out if you brush it on or dip the glass in the liquid instead of spraying it on? I don’t have a sprayer. I would just try it and see, but I don’t have any of the materials yet except for a ton of glass that needs staining.
Any suggestions on how to create little bubbles in the stain to simulate the ombre recycled mexican blown glass? Maybe a light splatter of water before air brushing with the resin/clearcoat mixture? PS your video was awesome!
So did anyone ever figure out what kind of clear coat he is using? there are plenty of things that come in spray cans but harder to find something that comes in normal liquid form.
Went to a store and asked for exactly what you said: "enamel enamel clear coat", "gloss regular enamel gloss acrylic enamel gloss clear coat" (and from your posted comments) "basic semi gloss lacquer" and the salesperson couldn't believe their ears! They asked, "That was from a 'How To' video that EXPLAINS what to use?!" Lol
