Hey Blogging Fam! Here's link the get started: createandgo.com/bluehost. Thanks for checking out the video and big shoutout to those of you who get started. That first step is one of the hardest so big props to you. Here's the link to the second video where I cover building out your blog in more detail: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9FIb8w3VE7Q.html
I was in the process of doing this through your link, but had to stop when I realized they were going to bill for the whole year at once rather than monthly. Is there any way to be billed monthly?
Please disregard my question. When I clicked the link to bluehost it says it is auto install for WP. Great. Signing up! Thank you. I hope it really installs automatically.
Create and Go Hey your Facebook page is down if you didn’t know and I’d like to post some things there but I don’t know what’s down last night 24 hours ago I was able to get on it and then I can’t find it on the Facebook app now then I’ll try searching it on Google and what happened was I found the link but when I clicked on it it said it wasn’t available
Alex I checked out Bluehost and saw the price was similar. I came back here because you deserve more than just a commission for this lesson. I followed step by step and I could not have done it without you. Thank you.
Wanting to start a blog years ago but always felt so overwhelmed with all the information out there. So thank you so much for breaking down the steps in a simple and doable manner...I finally feel more ready than ever to give it go after watching a few of your videos! Nicely done x
Thank you so much for your informative videos. I have always wanted to create a blog that i could also make money from. but it always felt like it was really hard and overwhelming. But your step by step guid, has me quite confident that i can make this blog really happen!!!
I just checked the link, and it worked for me. Try clearing your browser cache to see if that helps: freecourses.createandgo.com/blogging-bootcamp-for-beginners/
Hi I want to start a blog to inspire and motivate others in adversity and other moments in life. This is something I do within my circle, but I'd like to reach others via a blog. In addition, I create baskets to encourage others and host events with the same intended purpose. This has been a hobby for years but now I'd like to make it a buisness. So I want to know how to use the blog for my intents to motivate but also incorporate my buisness. I thought of doing etsy and adding the link to my store to the blog. Your advice is greatly appreciated 😊
You could create an etsy shop to sell your baskets, or you could create a digital resource to teach others how to make their own baskets and how to host events.
Ok first I have to say you guys really are the best. You respond quickly which is totally not required but just because you guys are awesome!! So another newbie question: If I use the Flash theme can I change the picture of the cityscape to something else? My blog is about grief support and so I need a different picture. Thanks for any help!
Yes, absolutely! Think of the images and info that default with the theme as "place holders" You can change it all out with new images and information :) -Cathy, Create and Go
Divi is a theme that comes with a visual builder you can use for pages, categories, etc. We don't recommend using the divi builder for posts. Elementor is also a page builder, but the two don't work together. Elementor is not a theme, so it will work on other themes. Hope this helps!
Hey Alex, first of all a big thank you for your free online course💖... I'm looking forward to start a motivational blog can you please tell me how I can bring traffic to it....good vibes from India
I'm gonna ask about the package extras at minute 2.17. When I tried to process this step, the packages are not offering the same way looked like in this video. There is no first (office 365 email essential) and the second one (domain privacy protection). It only provides the remaining three extras. How am I supposed to do with it, as I want to choose the same way in this video? Hope for your reply soon. Thank you
Hey Abdul. To see the Domain Privacty Protection option, you must choose a domain name. If you skip that part, you will not have the option to addon the Domain Privacy at purchase.
Struggling here, nowhere near as easy as you make out, you choose a theme, install plug in etc, just keep getting asked to create another account (elementor) then link it, ive now got a blue host, wordpress & elementor account, its all over the place, dont know which the dashboard is linked to and when i click 'visit site' it isnt the theme i chose. Dont know which site i should log in to when I want a break and come back to it later, is it wordpress, bluehost or elementor? Really struggling, all ive done is parted with an annual fee and been left with a shambles. All i wanted was to start up a decent looking blog.
They've changed a lot of things in the 3 year since this video was made, lol.....feel free to send me an email along with a screenshot of where you're stuck: theteam@createandgo.com -Cathy, Create and Go
I wish you much success this video is straight to the point! One question can you edit the font after you choose the theme or is the font part of the theme you are choosing?
Question. Big question for a non techy person like me. So when i sign up with BlueHost will install the WP for me in my laptop? Im asking because when I went to WP the installation process was all Greek to me! Please say YES that when I buy BlueHost as my domain, it is automatic that WP is in there. Thank you for your reply.
Yes, WordPress comes as a free platform with your Bluehost purchase and should be a simple download. If you have any issues, reach out to Bluehost support and they can walk you through it.
When extensions besides .com came out, there were geared towards specific content type. .org was created for educational sites, .gov for government, etc... Ideally, you should go with .com if it's available. -Cathy, Create and Go
I am thinking of starting a blog to advertise my book and essays. The book is not finished but at least I can provide some interesting bits that may entice potential readers. Do you think a blog is the way to go for my venture?
Absolutely!! Many authors use a blog to provide teasers to upcoming books and provide a behind-the-scenes look for their readers. -Cathy, Create and Go
Hi there! If we have a premium package as a beginner on Wordpress, we can’t install plugins! 😢 Do you have any suggestions? I’m trying to go through your steps on beginning a blog, but need to skip this for now! Thank you for your response!! 😄
What are the copyright ramifications on your blog -- i.e., are copyright protections built in for whatever appears on one's blog? Or does a blogger have to take special steps in order for content to have copyright, IP protection?
Can you comment on wordpress.com versus wordpress .org? If I start with Wordpress.com is that going to handicap me in the future?? I'm a Wix user who wants to transfer to wordpress and i don't want to have to do this ever again. thanks
Hey Maria! We actually have an article on this exact subject on our website. Here's the link: createandgo.com/wordpress-com-and-wordpress-org-blogs-free-vs-self-hosted/
The basic process is the same, but some of the screens may look slightly different as 3rd party tools have updated their product. We have plans for an updated video this year :) -Cathy, Create and Go
Hi there, I have a free site on Wix and I am looking to upgrade. I understand that WP is handy but Wix is next level easy. What are the details of why you prefer WP? Is there any shortcut to have a cheaper Wix hosting or installing that interface on a cheaper host platform? Thank you!
Lauren discusses the pros and cons of a few different blogging platforms in this article...it includes WordPress and Wix: createandgo.com/best-blogging-platforms/ -Cathy, Create and Go
Disqus is imply a comment plugin. You can set it up at anytime or use the built in comment section that is native to Wordpress. Some people like using Disqus because it allow you to customize the comment section. -Cathy, Create and Go
So can I add a page to my website after its published? I am new to this and followed your video until I couldn't due to changes in Bluehost start up. So I am concerned I will have missed something while setting it up. I want an about section explaining who I am and why I set it up. And I don't have a section in it so figuring out how to add that. But if I want to add more to my site after its all published can I?
Hi. I was going along copying everything but I don't have any photos. Help. I'm taking your initial course and this was in the middle of the lessons as free content. I'm pretty happy to see my title up but I need pictures. By the way I'm totally green.
Thank you so much for this! Quick question, is it necessary to only choose ONE niche? If I want to write blogs about travelling, then I should just stick to travelling? Can't I blog about skincare products, too?
In one of your videos you mentioned creative market to obtain themes. Most of the themes state you must have wordpress.org to utilize the theme. Can you elaborate? Which one is best the .org or .com? I am looking for a chic and girly theme. Most of the free templates offered on word press are limited in freedom to design. They require an upgrade so that you can use all the features. So I figure I might as well purchase a template. You also recommended DIVI theme. What's the difference between this and purchasing a theme from creative market. Thanks for your reply.
When you purchase hosting through Bluehost, you download the Wordpress platform at no additional cost. Then you can upload your themes to the back end of WordPress
Hello create and go. i was creating my online course, but I am scared that the content might get stolen. can you please help me with this as you guys have an online course too. but mine is just like a blog which is just words and it doesn't have a video. HELP
Ha! If the content is good, I can almost guarantee it will get stolen. We deal with it often and have to file DMCA takedowns. Here's the dmca website for more info: www.dmca.com/ -Cathy, Create and Go
Not quite as easy as suggested here. I'm trying to set up a blog but ran into a problem. Bluehost thinks it's a WordPress problem. WordPress says it's not. Frustrating.
Hello Alex! I just saw that Bluehost is no longer offering domain privacy protection as part of their package extras. I know privacy is very important as you mention in the video, so what do you recommend we do since Bluehost is no longer offering it? Any advice is appreciated!
Hey Hermilo, if you skip the step of choosing a domain, you will not get the option for Domain Privacy Protection. Once you choose a domain name, you can add that on. -Cathy, Create and Go
Hey Ron! It just depends on what other tools and features you choose. Bluehost and domain registration do have recurring cost (usually annually) and you will pay the full price upon renewal. Beyond that, many plugins are free and many have paid versions. You can absolutely blog for relatively cheap, but certain paid tools will make your life easier. Check out this article for our recommendations: createandgo.com/cost-to-start-blog -Cathy, Create and Go
Hey Alan. A political blog can definitely bring in a lot of traffic because it tends to be controversial. I recommend researching other blogs in that niche to see how they are monetizing.
@@CreateandGo Thank you! I guess I'll just have to follow because I am absolutely a boring guy who just like economics and politics. It's gonna be weird for me to start talking about fitness or insurance stuff.
Hi, it seems that your discount plan is for only 1 domain, what if I wanted to build a second one? Does it still work or do I have to go through the same process and pay another round of the same?
The rate of $2.95 is for a 3-year term on the Basic plan which only allows for 1 website. If you need the upgrade plan for multiple website, I recommend reaching out to Bluehost to see if you can get a deal on the price. -Cathy, Create and Go
Well after I completed all the steps, and after the theme part, for some reason it just doesn't want to take me to the website part, It keeps saying "installing the word press" and it just wont instal it. Anyone knows how could i fix this?
I am having problems signing up my domain. I can't even get to the next step of creating my Password. I have no idea what I could be doing that is wrong.
I have a few questions, and i think only you can answer them. Does namecheap still provides "who is" protection for free? Can i buy my primary domain from Name cheap and hosting from Bluehost? Where do i have to upgrade my domain every year? On bluehost or namecheap? Does Bluehost charge any money to add the domain i bought from name cheap?
You'll have to check with namecheap on the "who is" questions. You can absolutely have your domain and host separate...you simply point your domain to Bluehost, but it can stay registered with namecheap. (A quick Google or RU-vid search will bring up tutorials on how to do this) You renew your domain with whoever it's registered through. Bluehost shouldn't charge you extra for a domain not registered through them. -Cathy, Create and Go
@@CreateandGo Hi! Thanks for getting back to me so fast. So i was using the free version, was going to upgrade to personal but decided to go with bluehost and now its working fine. Thanks again and keep your awesome vides coming!
I was in the process of doing this through your link, but had to stop when I realized they were going to bill for the whole year at once rather than monthly. Is there any way to be billed monthly?
Oh, I thought you meant you had a website set up on a self-hosted plan, not someone else's website. If you want to build a blogging business, you need your own website that you own. -Cathy, Create and Go
What happens to your website if they shut down their site? I don't have any experience with them to say for sure, but we typically stay away from 3rd-party website setups for this reason. -Cathy, Create and Go
WordPress is a great blogging platform, but don't use them for hosting. Instead use someone like Bluehost and then download the WordPress platform on your host account. createandgo.com/bluehost -Cathy, Create and Go
i dont want to spend 45 dollars for a year when im only going to write a few. i know myself well enough that it aint going that far. amazing video though
Depends on the resource you are referring to. Some tools are a one-time charge, others are monthly, some terms are monthly and others are annual. -Cathy, Create and Go
Yes, that's basically the RSS Feed, but many bloggers don't use that feature anymore, but instead build an email list with trust funnels and send broadcast emails on their preferred time. -Cathy, Create and Go
@@CreateandGo DO you have any explanation videos on that ? Or could you do like a short 2 minute video on that ? Im just trying to think long term I would be so grateful
Hi, everyone? I need your help. I have received a comment from one of my blog posts saying, "....I would like to know if you would have any interest to have your website promoted as a resource on our blog. We are in the midst of updating our broken link resources to include current and up to date resources for our readers. Our resource links are manually approved allowing us to mark a link as a do-follow link as well . If you may be interested please in being included as a resource on our blog, please let me know. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? HOW IS IT GOING TO BENEFIT ME/MY WEBSITE?
No problem, Tyler. We actually have many students who take our courses and use a host other than BlueHost. We recommend BlueHost for beginners, but the strategies we teach are not dependent on the host provider.
Create and Go I want to apologize I didn’t know the difference between hosting and just buying a domain. I thought it was the same. I ended up using BlueHost once I figured this out. My mistake! Great video 😁
We recommend paid hosting. Here is an article with more info: createandgo.com/wordpress-com-and-wordpress-org-blogs-free-vs-self-hosted/ -Cathy, Create and Go
Alex and Lauren can only speak from personal experience. They had a great experience with Bluehost and still use it for many of their smaller domains. -Cathy, Create and Go
