This is best video have came across this year. Outstanding and knowledgeable. Keep it up man. I was a truck driver for over 20 years before I actually took the opportunity of applying for a business Grant which I use to start my own trucking company. These are the few tips i will tell all truck drivers and for those who are interested. 1) Protect your license. Companies will ask you to break the law. Almost force you to. Don't do it. Don't get greedy and speed to make more money. Your license is more important than kissing your companies butt or making a few extra bucks. 2) Try and stay local. You may have to work crappy jobs for a year or so, but if you still have a good driving record and you are a good worker you can move on to a really good job easily. 3) Get an hourly paying job. It's just better. I got to a point where I would never work for anything other than hourly. 4) Get a job that pays overtime. Anyone that tells you that you'll just pay more in taxes don't know how taxes work. Companies will tell employees that most of your overtime will go to taxes to trick dumb employees into working for less. Not a penny more is taxed because it's overtime 5) Always keep your ears open for a better job. Be a good/hard worker but as for loyalty, be loyal to you and your family. 6) Something I always say out loud on a daily basis... safety first. Live your life on the motto of safety first. It should be tattooed on the inside of your eyelids. 7) The number one rule I always advice is that you always keep your ear open for better opportunities. I was able to start my own company because I stayed inform with the available offers around me. If you are also thinking of starting your own Trucking company, I will advise you look into grants. I subscribe and will keep on watching your contents because it worth it. ❤️❤️
I am the owner of a new start-up operating in Transport and Logistics. I am seeking help and assistance in finding a federal grant specific to my line of business.
@@dablixjay Asking about a competent and award-winning grant writer, I will recommend you make your research about Latrayvis Abcarian. she is a Professional, Licensed, Intelligent, Experience Governmental Grant Writer and also a grant application reviewer for federal grant.
Box truck get jammed up all the time at weigh stations. Just get a semi, box trucks are cheap freight unless you already have some contracts already in place.
Yeah they tend to mess with box trucks pretty often, semis produce more money but some people don’t want to get their CDL that’s why a box truck is a great option for them.
So do you have a video of how to get business for this type of job... this is something I'd be very interested in and love to find out more about this cause where I'm from I don't see a lot of these trucks here and think it could be a great thing here... please let me know
Been talking wit the wife about taking this leap of faith and trying this. And then I stubble across this video. SMH I'm listening God. And I appreciate the video brother I subscribe and I'll be watching. 👌💯
Do your research. I drove a Truck for 18 years. Things to consider. Cost of insurance Constantly finding a responsible driver Always getting cited by DOT Cost of permits going up each year Maintenance on trucks Good luck y'all!
It’s crazy a friend of mine had me drive her box truck for her she just started the company. Needless to say I haven’t driven for a while.. them trucks are expensive to keep on the road if you don’t have a nest egg
Good afternoon, Timothy. The past few days, I’ve been praying and seeking guidance and I suddenly stumbled upon your channel. I’ve been pondering about starting a trucking company but didn’t know the fine details it would take to open and operate one. Thank you for some clarifications. You’ve earned yourself a subscriber - God bless you🙏🏽
I’m glad you were lead to my video, I will be posting content twice a week on business/investing/finance so be on the look out & thank you for the support!
Ever since I was introduced to this, I’ve Been seeing many box trucks and a few people talking about doing this as well. Gods definitely telling me I can do this! Definitely subbing!! Gonna take that leap this year!!
Yes it's weird how it works once you notice something it sticks out like a sore thumb and it seems like you see it more then ever lol, thank you for the support and good luck on your journey this year 👍🏽
Timothy, I’m very impressed with your instruction videos on trucking. I’m retired now. But, I used to teach what you’re saying. You are very knowledgeable and what I hear from you is very accurate and informative. I’ve started and ran several transportation companies. Keep up the good work!
Richard, Thank you for the kind words, I’ve been around trucks my whole life so I picked up a few things lol. But I will keep up the good work thank you again 🙏🏽
turtle19dad To be honest I’m not sure how well that business would do because of the competition, and not a lot of people wanting to be cramped up in a limo because of covid.
I'm not lying. When I saw the title of the video, I thought you were lying like everyone else, but I was wrong. You've given us a free tutorial on box truck business, Thank you for that, great video 👍
@@TimothyWilliamsJr Good day Tim , I'm currently doing my research on the box truck industry . I was givin some advice about renting first , then lease . This would help to not have to pay for mechanical issues if purchasing a truck . I was told never to actually buy the truck . What's your view ? Looking forward to your feedback . Bless up 🙌
If all this was true, everybody would work for the trucking business. This is all such BS. What he's not telling you is that HE is making all the money while his workers can't even afford to pay their rents. Such bullshit.
New video will be released every Monday on different business ideas, investing, and personal finance education! If you haven't already hit that bell so that you can be notified every time I post a video. Thank you all for the support 🙏🏽
Tracy Jacks Thank you for the support, I have a video coming very soon about renting vs buying a truck stay tuned. If you have any specific questions you would like to be answered just let me know!
Thank you for the info I was trying to understand how to start a box truck business I do semi now but when you lease a truck from a company they do everything for you because you really running under their name but I’m ready to see my name on the truck but really thank you for the info
I needed this video King. I've been looking for a sign to get out of my current field (healthcare) and do something where I can have some more financial freedom. I think this is it. My only question is how do I go about getting customers like Amazon and others ? Can you make a video on how you landed big ticket clients ?
Thank you for the support, hopefully you eventually will be able to gain that financial freedom. Every week I’ll post different videos educating on financial education, and other businesses to invest in. Also, “Amazon Relay” is a app you can use to run directly with amazon. Check out my video on “how to find loads” in my recent videos.
Lol I'm glad it aligned the way it did. Thats the universe telling you that this is the business for you, good luck & reach out if you have questions and have video idea suggestions you wanna learn about.
Hey Timothy! Good stuff! Thanks for the information! Question: Is it possible to do this business renting box trucks from Ryder or Penske to start? If so ,would need most of the things listed?
Yes you could start off with renting from either of those companies, a friend of mine got all his paperwork set up and started off by renting from Enterprise. I will be doing a video discussing either buying or renting a box truck very soon!
@@TimothyWilliamsJr ill be looking out for that video. My fiancé and I worked for transportation companies for years, we are trying to start up our own business and utilize what we learned. Your content is very helpful, thank you!
Dude, you did a really good job explaining this without being vague or misleading. Thanks for this.? Most people don't know how to do this. You helped me out a lot. I appreciate it, thanks!
Man I appreciate you so much for this champ.. I've been driving for metro for a few yrs now but now you have open my eyes to what I've always wanted to do.. I recently filled for my LLC and EIN. Taking my time do everything step by step so by the fall of next yr I will be up and running.. Timothy you da GOAT
@@victorcordero1458 yes. Just bought my box truck a few months back. Got my son driving while I still drive for Metro.. after 1 more year then I'll be driving for myself..
Ok so what’s up everyone going to give my input on this gentleman , first of all don’t be scared to try something new . My name is Edgardo i just started my cargo van business. I received everything from this video . I even used Agnes fabiani super awesome insurance agent she really went above and beyond . I have a dui and some tickets so I know how hard it was for her to find me a good insurance with a low (for me ) down payment . Thanks for making this video I’m excited to change the way my wife and kids eat . Now it’s up to me to put in that work . Bless to everyone that takes this path in life and hope I come across many dollar signs
Best video thus far and straight to the point. I've searched months on RU-vid and not to knock other videos but they are always jumping around the process and details.
Wow sir, thanks for the information. I currently work as a Special Police in DC but I want to work for myself. This is just what I have been looking for. I can appreciate you giving this information for free. Not like others who only want to do it if you like and subscribe. This is about financial freedom a lot of us are looking for. Thanks again.
First and foremost thank you for your keeping the streets safe. Also, thank you for the support my channel is based on educating others on business, investing, and personal finance. Good luck on your journey!
Thank you for this video bro. I am already on this path but you have shown somethings that I needed know and factor in to my plan. I truly appreciate the knowledge you have shared.
Thank you for all the great information. This was a very informative video and you gave all the facts. I've been through this whole process of starting a transportation business.
Just wanted to come up here and give you your flowers bro 💯. I’m a young 21 year old business owner because of you. I found this video 7 months ago as I was already searching for the information on how to get going and this video alone help me get it done bro. Very powerful/ detailed video to the point where over that time I’ve sent this to 10 guys who’ve asked me for help and it’s helped them. Bottom line keep doing u because you never know who’s life your gone change with these videos. God bless you man 🙏🏾
@@PermanentHigh Yes sir I’m located out in NC and I quickly grew to 3 trucks in 2 months by the grace of god contracting with lowes delivering appliances. Income is life changing my man first month is always the hardest but anything is obtainable with the right information and god. This video is gold 💯
@@t.townnnn I have more questions for you than I have for him, because you're freshly off the ground. I'm serious about this too. Did you use your business credit to start or did you have cash? How did you set up your company? Did you buy all 3 trucks or are you leasing/renting? Thanks for the info bro. I just want to keep believing that it's possible and I want as much info as possible
@@PermanentHigh this all depends on who you contract with. I think you should get everything filled out/ finalized which he explains how in this video and from there figure out who you want to contract/ run loads for and that will give you a better idea on your approach. Your approach will not be the same as mine as my approach was not the same as his. God bless you and keep believing!
*Disclaimer* For the insurance I recommend you finding a “Vin” number & a truck as close to the value as you’re purchasing to get a “Quote” I’m sorry for the confusion.
Whats up Tim, just wanna say thank you for giving us this free knowledge, I'm currently working on a box truck delivering appliances for companies , but I've been thinking about starting my own business doing that, but im definitely gonna rewatch this video and get these things done, once again, ty & be blessed!
Whats going on, thank you for the support. If I were in your shoes I would ask a bunch of un answered questions you have to your employer. Also find out if you're able to get your own truck and run for them so you don't have to start from ground zero. Good luck, and thank you again for the support!
Or, you can make $1000 take home every week driving for someone else , and save you a whole lots of headache and money .. and if you drive for bigger company , you can get a good benefits too, where as a O/O even if you can get health insurance, it’s gonna be shitty one …
If you don't find a means of multiplying money, you will wake up one day to realise that the money you thought you had, has finished. Investment is key.
Check out my video on my channel on leasing vs financing that should answer your question. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X0Dxysh7MyI.html
I want to say thank you Tim for the info and great advice. I already got experience with the trucking industry and I am to the point in my life where I want to start a business. Thank you once again may God bless you
I want to thanks you, and you did a good job educating me , and at the same time . You did open up my mind about the Truck Boxing Business. Thanks Again.
Factoring company's are a rip off, there's plenty of company's that pay quick pay for the same price, and some pay 24-48 hours. NEVER deal with Factoring
I have two box trucks that I’ve been moving houses with but I’m in the process of transitioning to move loads from companies. This video was very helpful because I was unsure about 2 or 3 steps I had to do. Also you confirmed I could make the money I desire and expect to make, thank you
Seriously!!! People be careful with this videos I know many and I mean many the barely make it doing this work don’t get me wrong you will make some money but not 1 million a year that’s impossible!!! Not even a full size truck gross that much!! A straight truck 1 million? Hahahhahaha!!! Theory is so easy but reality is different!!
Problem: what evidence do you have that the IRS has any right to know how much I make, how much I spend, or that I owe them anything of what I have made? SO, step one, skipped. Next?
You definitely not making 2700 a day they paying a 1.88-2.10 a mile cause of people like you convincing people that they can make money when they fucking up the market with this low balling
Crazy thing about that is it’s so much other things you can do with that kind of truck ik a man right now has at lease 10 of them and he put water tanks in the back of them and hire workers to drive and pressure wash big companies 18 willers that was pretty dope and my first time seeing that and for it to be a black man that really drew my attention
Yeah there is so much you can do with a box truck I know someone who has a moving company he’s doing really well with 3 box trucks, you just have to be creative.
Great video brother 👍.. I would like to see a follow up video, once you get the business off the ground, how and where do you get loads, how to determine pay for employees (drivers), need to know tax information, permits,licenses.. Etc..
These people selling box trucks have raised their prices a ridiculous amount. I might as well buy a semi and use my cdl. A used 26'/LG is around $40-$80K (I'm in NM) Use to be around $10k-$20k
Yes the trucking market prices are super high at the moment, I have a video coming out today on “Leasing vs Financing” a box truck tomorrow that may interest you. Also, either a semi or a hotshot wouldn’t be bad for you since you already have your CDL.
It’s a lot of little things you have to have to even apply to certain things first like your dun# or the medical card , drug testing info and est..also things like your carrier packet..I’m a little lost in all the things I can get while waiting. What about all the things that keep you in compliance 🤦🏽♀️ and what about that tax document for gas and mileage forget what it’s call something with a F 🤦🏽♀️
Mr. I am in AS. TX. I drove Box. Trucks for a few yrs in LA. If you get an extra truck an need a driver with clean record all around, I love to work for you. I love drIving. Tks
Hi, I love this video it was very informative. I live in the Delmarva area. I have been thinking about starting my own business. What is your advice on that?
Do I need a safety audit within my first month of authority? I have my authority but I didn't start working yet. I get my truck 3/25. I'm financing and it comes with a dot inspection at pick up
This is a question I was wondering you said use your social security number I'm assuming you better have perfect credit before you even start this business because most of us don't have 20 40 50 Grand sitting around to buy a truck unless there is a way to get a truck under a business and speaking of truck it would be no point to get a used one I'm assuming because of different problem it may have like you said having a. And tags and all of that stuff the new trucks would be your best bet because at least you know nobody was tearing it up so basically what I wanted to help with all that being said how do you get a truck under your business not using your Social Security because like I said if your credit is not on point they're not going to give you nothing
What's up? Which of these government requirements can i get without needing anything else? Like can you just get a ucr the same as if I wanted to buy ice cream?
