You make it sound as if thousand of Mauritians die in the hospitals everyday. No public hospital service is perfect, even in so called first world countries. It is worthwhile to know that many private clinics have a practice to send patients at the end of their life and basically can't be saved to the public hospitals to preserve their reputation, and this can have a deleterious effect on the stats of the public health service. Equipment wise public hospitals are better equipped when it comes to expensive and complex health apparatuses.
