There are interest notebooks for coffee, movies, restaurant etc. Look them over on the internet to get an idea what to write down. Using for my film and food festivals. Another good idea for a small throw away book is a swear book. Safer than posting on social media and cheaper than therapy. Remember to not use actual names and shred it by year end. 😂😊
I'm more a beer bloke than a coffee conoisseur, so this has inspired me to do the same thing, but for pubs instead of cafes. Also a tip; a white gel pen instead of gouache is great for finer, more detailed highlights in a doodle (and it's easier to carry on the go). The best one I know is the Uniball Signo white.
super inspiring with the watercolors! I always tend to think I have to use them to do paintings, but this is great. I have to make a green tea journal since I don't drink coffee 😀
I love cafe journaling. If I find some place that is nice, I will journal about it but sometimes I just enjoy the day and journal it when I get back home. Really wanna have the 'in the moment' type of experiance too. Your journal is my inspiration. Hope to see more of you next.
I love that you specified which imaginary pen you were using 😊 I often journal in cafes, but never about them the way you do, now I want to try! Lovely video, thanks.
Really inspiring video. I've been thinking about going to coffee shops to journal. I live in a small village in quebec, Canada, surrounded by other beautiful villages. I think i'll go to each of their little coffee shops and film my experiences for my little chanel... and have fun 😊
Great casual little catch up Job 😃! It’s a good reminder too that you don’t have to meet and treat yourself, it’s ok to enjoy a café on your own. Unfortunately, my favourite local café burnt down..they used to source and roast their own beans …yes 1+1 =2 here. The owner was a great bloke, very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee and one of my favourite memories is when he gave my Dad and I an impromptu coffee lecture on different beans, preparation techniques, tasting etc. 🤎Louise
Fun video! Loved to see the street scenes. My favourite coffee shop is in Toronto. L'Espresso on Bloor Street. Great cappuccino! Fabulous staff. Such an italian vibe- reminds me of my summers away in Italy.
Don't be sorry. I enjoy these chill vids and will add those cafes to my list of I'm ever in Vancouver. If you are ever in downtown Boston, MA I recommend Ogawa, Phin Coffee House, Gracenote, etc. There's too many to list. 😅
I hope all is going well Job. My favorite journaling cafe is the Black Cat in Ashland WI USA. I don't get to too many cafes since I live in the boondocks of WI but when I do go this is my choice. I will be going to Minneapolis soon and plan to get to as many as I can walk to. Thanks for the inspo.
Have either of you been to the one on Great Northern Way close to Emily Carr? It's a super cool and unique building that's quite a bit larger. Also, I just decided to start coffee journaling today and saw this video. Thank you for the extra inspiration to get started!
I love these kind of videos because it gives me inspiration about more things to journal about 😊 If you come back to the Bay Area soon try out Philz Coffee! There are locations in SF, Berkeley, Oakland, etc
How do you go about it? Do you ask permission to vlog? Any tips for a still learning not to be camera shy or speaking to camera in public person like me, lol. Thanks for sharing Love your Journaling.
I don't usually ask unless I'm filming someone's face. It's always better to ask but in public spaces I try to just film myself or my immediate surrounding so I don't get other people in the shot! Hope this makes sense! Thanks for watching!
Hey Job! I've seen a number of my fave journalers hosting a Journaling party (Janethecrazy, James Burke) have you ever attended one or hosted one? I woul love to attend one myself but journaling is not a done thing here in New Zealand. Great video too!
