I've been very depressed all of my teen years and illness exacerbated it. I was just trying to get through the day, sleep, repeat. All my opportunities went out the window. At 19 I feel like a failure. I miss being creative, I miss having goals, I miss doing something. Last night I decided this is something I'd want to do. It's like a switch went off and I just feel so motivated at the prospect of making this a reality for me. Filled up a whole notebook with research and trying to figure out a buisness plan for myself. I've always loved candles and I feel this could be a real passion for me. I wanted to go to art school and I just feel this could be the creative outlet on craving. I've decided not to use paraffin due to the carcinogens it releases in the air. I wanted to use beeswax since it cleans the air but it is quite expensive. I'm gonna try it out with soy since I have some soy candles I absolutely love and I feel have much more of a fragrant smell than my paraffin candles (yankee candle etc.). I wa as looking into hemp wick since its cleaner but it can burn quick so I'm still looking, but definitely nothing with lead in it and am hoping for something with a cellulose core.

Wow your beginning story sounds just like my current situation. I've had a desk job for seventeen years now. I listen to podcasts just to get through the day. I'm at a point in my life that I want to start doing something that I enjoy and that'll allow more time with my kids before they get old enough to leave home. So I'm at the very beginning of trying to gather things and start it going within the coming months. I'm so nervous and I'm trying to keep a positive attitude. Im going to keep working my full-time job and try this on the side and see how well it goes. Wish me luck y'all ❤🙏😀
