What is the use of those garbage collections? You just gather all the bacteria and microrganisms in one area. You even invited rats to have a meal in your pile! What if you have pets that can get virus on that silly compost making. Ha-ha-ha! Is this for primary school projects?
you described in the second sentence the answer to your questions. all those microorganisms break the organic matter down into its most basic and nutrient rich components like nitrogen that are needed for plants to grow. have you never heard of compost before? btw the brown stuff keeps smell down and makes pests less likely fren :)
It's to make nutrient rich soil to use in your garden.... A lot of regular dirt doesn't have enough nutrients to grow big healthy plants so she is basically feeding the dirt vitamins and nutrients and then feed the dirt to her garden for big healthy plants.
This is a well established technique to get rich fertilized soil. It's all a part of a natural process that happens all the time. No animal products should go in, only plant based items. If done right, no pests should be getting into the pile.
@@ggthegardengirl at first I was thinking what on earth am I thinking when I went to pick it up ,I'm recycle some thing that no one wants , now I cant wait till winter ,🌿
I'm having Asperger's, and I frequently struggle to comprehend and understand fully tutorials on the Internet... I don't understand nuance, and a lot of "common knowledge" isn't always something I know. I do have the willingness to learn, though. So, the fact that you are an exemplary communicator is greatly appreciated by me! I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I have definitely watched at least 30 videos on starting your own compost... So I have been feeling discouraged beyond belief! You really just made it all click for me... Subscribing right away! ❤ Thank you for raising my awareness... To the backyard, I go! 😊
If you are closing the container completely your gonna find it going anaerobic which is bad. It will smell horrible and attract unwanted pest and wildlife, and will harm your beneficial aerobic microbe populations
i collected some kitchen scrap and frozen in the freezer & dry leaves from my little balcony's garden. Can't wait to start to composting! thanks for the great sharing!
Me who just chucks all my material in brown green brown, then just turn after 4 days and every 2 days after that and it’s ready in a month or two, pee on it every now n then and it’s chilling Edit: I add sugar in between layers to speed it up if I need it fast, thank me later (don’t use more than 10% of the total volume in sugar) I know this is basic hot composting rules but there are some newbies in every comment section 🙃 I have 3 compost bins, a big tumbler, and 2 standard standard 300L compost bins so I’ve gone through trial and error as well as lots of RU-vid videos😂 I’ve tried numerous methods and hot composting is superior if you don’t mind doing some extra labour, I end up with way more kitchen scraps then this lady as well as coffee grounds, big family. 😂 Also I make sure my twigs /sticks are broken into small pieces and don’t use large sticks like this lady here, I leave very few chunky things but just enough so it doesn’t turn into slop😂 I have quite a few fallen leaves from autumn which are great cos they’re roughly 20:1 carbon to nitrogen which is close to the perfect ratio of 30:1 but you don’t have to worry about all of that science stuff unless you really want to perfect the craft If I got anything wrong yk what to do internet, just tryna help out some people who may be new or curious but always do your own research
you know your compost will have all sorts of buggies and wormies in it if it’s on the ground right? they help break things down and add nutrient rich waste to it. i see no problem with ants in it
@@cooperswan534 fire ants are so vicious they can swarm and kill a toddler, calf, or other small animal. They take over everything and have no real enemies as they are not indigenous to the states.
@@cocobo22 fire ants migrated from South America. They have no natural predators here in North America and they are perfectly at home in the American Southern States. They are very aggressive protecting their homes and their bites sting and cause local reactions. Some people are highly allergic to them just like bees.
I do too. I'd love to know where it's from specifically. It sounds like a proto-appalachian accent. Like how I imagine an Ulster accent evolved into the US Appalachian accent.
Using the brown/green technique makes no sense. Green stuff turns brown because the chlorophyll breaks down that's the only difference not the mineral or nutrient content
It's not exact, no, but what happens when something "green" dries out is the nutrients leach out as well. What's left is mostly the carbon. It's important to have nitrogen in the soil, and compost is meant to act as a fertilizer. You need "greens" to help with the break down process, you need "browns" to help keep it balanced and have air in the pile. They both play their roles.
>these are the greens or the nitrogen Lady, literally every decomposing biomass has nitrogen in it. This is wayyyyy too technical. You can throw whatever biomass in a compost pile and it'll be fine.
It's actually a basic concept. "Browns" or dried out matter is going to have more carbon and "greens" or fresh plant matter is going to have more nitrogen. And you shouldn't put just anything in there. Plant based only. There is a different process to make compost out of animal products, it requires anaerobic environment. If you throw in animal products you're going to have pest issues and a really bad smelling pile. It might hinder the composting process a lot too.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
