This is right on time. I’m a RN that just started in travel nursing and thought to myself...I could do this...I’m doing the labor so why not contract myself out and get the entire bill rate. Then I thought why stop there, how about I start my own agency and maybe add nurses later on...once I get my networking down.
@Askadella
@Askadella 3 года назад
Exactly! You are spot on. The best way to go is to start your own agency. You'll be able to make so so so much more money. Go ahead and build your network first, that could be as simple as getting people registered on an email list. Let them know you will keep them on file, because your company will be hiring in the near future. Once you get those people on a list, and your company launches. Reach out and get a database of companies who have positions to fill. You can go to indeed and reach out directly to the recruiter or HR rep. Ask them if they'd be open to having your company help them fill the position. Then you play matchmaker and collect resumes from your database. It's not too hard to start and the startup cost is low. These type of businesses are cash cows. :-) Best of luck to you, Adella

Hi! I'm so happy I found this channel. This is invaluable information. I am an RN and would like to start my own staffing agency. Would it be ideal to contract myself, work my agency and then build my network from there? Thank you.
@Askadella
@Askadella 2 года назад
Glad it was helpful Vahn! Yes, you can do it this way, you can contract yourself out as a nurse, we would call it independent nurse contractor. Make sure you have an LLC or an S-Corp for your business, that ensures some asset protection, find your clients and do the paperwork required. You can do this as a start, but I also recommend you start a simple acquisition strategy. Find other nurses and just start telling them that you have hiring / contracting opportunities coming up in the future. Ask them for their email address. Then you email them your company information and ask them for a resume. Start to keep those on file so you can source talent and match to what clients need. When you make a match, you charge your fee and get paid just for the placement. You can outsource this process, or do it yourself. You'll get excited because when all the fees keep coming in, it makes it all worth it in the end! Then you won't have to be involved so much in the business as far as 'working or clocking hours' for a client. I hope that makes sense. Best of luck, let me know if you have any more questions or need help. - Adella

Congrats!!! So, if you are starting off, Square has this employee management software.It allows you to create and publish shifts, do payroll, pull reports etc. You can go to this website: www.pasosdeals.com/square and scroll to the bottom. Click "team management". I like this one because it's super easy to pay people through Square Payroll and it's a lower cost to use vs many other systems for 1099, or W-2 employees. No extra fees or commitments. If you need something more robust, like a CRM that will hold resumes, staff data, and do application tracking. ZohoRecruit is pretty good and affordable. Check both of them out. Let me know how your wife and friend go! Thanks for watching. Adella

I started working for a staffing agency a month ago. Little did I know when I got hired, this was a new business they were launching in the Ca. Owner owns several home health businesses in OH but now is opening up a staffing agency. I don't know if it's just me but she said it's easy to land a contract at facility by just calling. I feel like crying because I did not know that I was hired to contracts from the facilities let alone my first one. I can recruit employees all day long but I lack of selling a contract to a facility. I am really trying hard but I am the only one in this office and I feel like she gets mad at me for not doing the job right. Do you have any advice on how to land a contract at the nursing facilities? What is the strategy?
@Askadella
@Askadella 2 года назад
Hi Antoinette, I would recommend bettering your selling skills, by taking a sale course, or program. If you are not confident in your sales abilities, the best thing to do is hire and pay someone who is. The position of 'home health sales rep' can be recruited for and filled for the company. If they company doesn't want to hire someone, I would recommend they train you to sell and give you all their sales materials. Most of the 'selling' to nursing facilities won't happen immediately, but you will need to start building relationships with the decision makers. Let them know who you guys are, what you can do and ask if you can send over pricing for them to consider in the future when they need staff on demand. Best of luck! Adella

Hey Steven, Obtaining workers' compensation insurance for your startup healthcare staffing firm in Florida can be challenging, especially in a regulated industry like healthcare. Have you tried any of these kinds of resources? Possibly, reaching out to independent insurance agents or brokers who specialize in workers' compensation insurance. Research and contact insurance companies that offer workers' compensation insurance in Florida. Explain the nature of your business and inquire about their coverage options for healthcare staffing firms. Some insurers may have tailored solutions for your industry. Reach out to healthcare staffing industry associations in Florida. They may have connections with insurance providers who understand the unique needs of your business and can assist you in finding appropriate coverage. Florida Association of Staffing Professionals (FASP), Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) or the Florida Health Care Human Resources Association (FHHRA). Try consulting legal professionals or business consultants who specialize in healthcare and staffing. They can provide guidance on regulatory requirements, risk management, and insurance options. Contact the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation to inquire about resources and assistance for obtaining workers' compensation insurance. They can provide information on the legal requirements and available options. Consult a Business Attorney: If you encounter ongoing difficulties, consider consulting a business attorney with expertise in insurance matters. They can review your situation, provide legal advice, and potentially help you negotiate with insurers. Thanks for buying the course and I hope this information helps! Best, Adella

@Askadella
@Askadella Год назад
You're welcome! Establishing credibility and trust with new clients in healthcare staffing can be challenging, but there are several strategies you can use to help build relationships and gain their confidence. Firstly, ensure that your business has all the necessary licenses and certifications required by law to operate in your state. This will give clients peace of mind knowing that you are a legitimate and trustworthy business. Secondly, emphasize your experience and knowledge in the healthcare industry, whether it's through your education, professional background, or certifications. This can help establish you as a credible and competent expert in the field. Thirdly, provide references and testimonials from satisfied clients. This will show potential clients that others have had a positive experience working with your business and can help build trust. Lastly, be transparent and honest in all your interactions with clients. Communicate clearly and promptly, and be upfront about any limitations or challenges that may arise. This will help establish trust and credibility in the long run. I hope these strategies are helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for watching and for your comment! I have been a registered nurse for 20 years and I'm planning to launch a staffing agency. 2 questions, can you tell me if I need to register my business in each state I staff in (for travel nurses) ? Will I need workers comp insurance?
@Askadella
@Askadella 3 года назад
Hi Misty, Thanks for the question. So, as a legal operating company, you need to register your business with the federal government, then also with the secretary of state. Normally, people choose to incorporate in the state their office is located in or where they get the best tax benefit. So, choose one state. The next thing you need to do is verify with that state's secretary of state if you need an "employment agency license". Not all state's require this, so just check first. Usually this fee is paid annually. You also need to check with any other state you plan to operate in and see if you may need to apply for their license too. If so, there will be an 'out of state' corporation form they will have you fill out. Let's use this for example, if you register your agency in Delaware. No special licensing is required. You can employ people on W-2 contract, or 1099 contract and list your company as operating in Delaware. When employees get paid, that is the address and information that will be on their check stubs. You are only 'operating' out of Delaware state, because that is where the business ops is conducted. Now, let's just say you wanted to open an office in Texas, or you now hired people up under your company to work in Texas. That state requires that you have a license if you operate there. So, just pick and choose wisely. This website shows you which states do and don't require licenses: www.harborcompliance.com/information/employment-agency-license Always double check with the state's secretary of state website or give them a call direct. Don't forget your local county may require business registration and licensing too, so check with them as well. You will also need a general liability insurance policy, as well as workers’ compensation insurance for your full-time staff members. You can work with Geico for something like that. They have really affordable packages. Let me know if you have any other questions, Best, Adella

Should a healthcare staffing company use social media? What do you think the best platforms would be?
@Askadella
@Askadella Год назад
Yes, I believe that healthcare staffing companies should use social media as part of their marketing strategy. Social media platforms provide a powerful way to build brand awareness, engage with clients and candidates, and establish yourself as a thought leader in the industry. When it comes to selecting the best social media platforms for your healthcare staffing business, it really depends on your target audience and the types of services you offer. Here are a few examples of platforms you might consider: LinkedIn: This is a professional networking site that is ideal for B2B marketing. You can use it to connect with potential clients and candidates, share industry news and insights, and showcase your expertise in the field. Facebook: This platform has a broad reach and can be effective for B2C marketing. You can use it to promote your services, share testimonials and success stories, and engage with your followers through posts and comments. Twitter: This platform is ideal for real-time communication and can be effective for sharing news and updates related to your business. You can also use it to engage with industry influencers and thought leaders. Instagram: This platform is highly visual and can be effective for showcasing your brand through photos and videos. If you have a visually appealing product or service, such as healthcare staffing, you might consider using Instagram to promote your business. These are just a few examples of social media platforms that healthcare staffing companies might use to promote their business. The key is to identify your target audience and select the platforms that are most likely to reach them. Thanks for your question! Best, Adella

Great video! Where would you search for people looking for hire?
@Askadella
@Askadella Год назад
Hey! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. To find people looking to be hired by a healthcare staffing agency, you can explore multiple channels: Job Boards: Websites like Indeed, Glassdoor, and Monster are popular places to post job listings. LinkedIn: Use the platform's search and networking features to find potential candidates and post job listings. Industry-Specific Job Boards: Websites dedicated to healthcare jobs, such as Health eCareers or NursingJobs, can attract specialized talent. Medical Schools & Training Programs: Partner with educational institutions to tap into a pool of recent graduates or trainees. Social Media: Utilize platforms like Facebook and Twitter to share job listings and attract applicants. Local Healthcare Facilities: Collaborate with hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities for referrals. Networking Events: Attend industry-specific events, career fairs, or conferences to meet potential candidates. Employee Referrals: Encourage current employees to refer qualified friends or acquaintances. Temp Agencies: Some staffing agencies specialize in temporary placements, which can be a good way to evaluate a candidate before offering full-time employment. Local Newspapers: Traditional print media can also be effective, especially for reaching candidates who might not be online as frequently. Community Centers: Posting job listings on community bulletin boards can reach a different demographic. Using a combination of these channels will likely yield the best results in finding qualified candidates. Thanks, Adella

I did my research they are saying we need a employment agency license in order to send out employees for pay no one not saying that

Yes, only 25 / 50 states in usa require an employment agency license. Each state differs. As I mentioned in the video, always check with your states's secretary of state department to find out about licensing, or if you incorporate your LLC through mycorp, they can do this research for you ( for a price ). Any person who is serious about starting will need to look into their state's licensing procedure and cost. Most state's cost for a license is $100-$750 and is renewed annually. Should we ask potential facilities how much they pay or request a specific amount? I know states and cities pay differently not sure how to charge properly
@Askadella
@Askadella Год назад
Absolutely, navigating the pricing aspect of selling healthcare staffing services can be a bit tricky, but here's what you should do: When reaching out to potential healthcare facilities to sell your staffing services, it's a good idea to approach the pricing conversation strategically. Rather than immediately asking about how much they pay or proposing a specific amount, consider this: Before contacting any facility, research the healthcare staffing market in the specific states and cities you're targeting. Understand the average rates for different roles and specialties in those areas. This will give you a baseline to work from. When you introduce your services, focus on the value you bring to the facility. Highlight how your staffing solutions can improve patient care, increase operational efficiency, and alleviate staffing challenges. During your initial conversation, listen to the facility's needs and challenges. Tailor your services to address their specific pain points. This will help you better gauge the level of service they require and their potential willingness to invest. Instead of directly asking about their budget or proposing a fixed amount, consider discussing budget ranges. Ask them about their expectations for staffing services and what they'd be comfortable investing. This opens up a discussion without putting them on the spot. Offer a variety of pricing models based on their needs, such as hourly rates, fixed contracts, or even performance-based pricing. This flexibility can help accommodate different facility budgets. If asked about how you determine your rates, explain your pricing methodology. Factors such as specialty, level of expertise, demand, and local market rates can all play a role. Present different service packages with varying levels of support and pricing. This allows the facility to choose the option that aligns best with their needs and budget. Don't forget to share success stories or case studies from similar facilities you've worked with, showcasing the positive impact your staffing services have had. Remember, the goal is to build a partnership based on mutual benefit. By taking the time to understand their needs and offering flexible pricing solutions, you're more likely to arrive at a pricing structure that works for both parties. It's also important to remain open to negotiation and find common ground. These aspects are also taught in my course. Here's the link: payhip.com/b/9XLvc Thanks for the question. Wishing you best of luck! Adella

How can I determine the appropriate pricing strategy for healthcare staffing services?
@Askadella
@Askadella Год назад
Setting the right pricing strategy for healthcare staffing services can be a challenge, but there are several factors to consider when determining your rates: Market rates: Research the going rates for similar staffing services in your area and adjust your rates accordingly. This can help ensure that your rates are competitive and attractive to potential clients. Cost of doing business: Consider the costs of running your staffing business, such as salaries, benefits, office space, and marketing expenses. These costs should be factored into your pricing to ensure that your business is profitable. Client budget: Take into account the budget constraints of your potential clients when determining your rates. You may need to offer different pricing packages or negotiate rates with clients to win their business. Value-added services: Consider offering additional services, such as training or employee retention programs, that can add value to your staffing services and justify higher rates. Your experience and reputation: If you have a strong track record of success and a good reputation in the industry, you may be able to command higher rates for your services. Ultimately, it's important to find a balance between setting competitive rates that attract clients while also ensuring that your business is profitable. I hope these tips are helpful! @Askadella
@Askadella 2 года назад
Hi Richard, you will have to do either ...1. Create a list of target accounts .. ( small or large healthcare facilities, organize them by state or county... that you want to go after... then call and tell them you are interested in becoming a staffing vendor... how can you become a vendor. They will direct you to speak with the right person. Almost all medical facilities will have requirements, but if you find out what all is needed, you are a step ahead. This process can be long and or frustrating, the term is generally called "business development". Use a CRM to track who you have and haven't spoke to or heard back from yet. If they tell you something like must have 2 years of staffing experience, you'll have to work your way up to that point. It would benefit you to start with smaller healthcare facilities and ask the decision maker if they have open positions they need filled right away.... and second... if they are open to working with you as a vendor and tell them what added value you offer, you can even offer them a special new client offer like 10-15% off their placement fees. Tell them why you are lower in cost and quicker to staff. Lots of smaller healthcare facilities will usually take this offer. Make sure you tell them how you can quickly find staff for them and be willing to provide value up front. Having professional sales materials and ppt about your company help alot, even if they don't decide to work with you today, leave a good impression and a PPT, so they don't forget about you when they are ready to staff. I hope that helps. Also, make sure your business is listed in local healthcare staffing directories online. You can find those by just googling 'healthcare staffing directory' or 'hire healthcare staff'. Best, Adella

How can I ensure that I'm recruiting qualified candidates for healthcare staffing positions?
@Askadella
@Askadella Год назад
Recruiting qualified candidates for healthcare staffing positions can be a challenge, but there are several strategies you can use to ensure that you're bringing on the best candidates possible. Firstly, make sure that your job postings are clear and detailed about the qualifications, experience, and skills required for the position. This can help attract the right candidates who meet the minimum requirements. Secondly, use multiple channels to source candidates, such as online job boards, professional networks, and referrals from current employees. This can help you cast a wider net and find candidates with diverse backgrounds and skillsets. Thirdly, use a thorough screening and interviewing process to assess candidates' qualifications, experience, and fit for the position. Consider using skills assessments, behavioral interviews, and reference checks to ensure that candidates are truly qualified for the role. Lastly, offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent in the healthcare staffing industry. This can include things like health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and bonuses. I hope these strategies are helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thanks for watching and for your comment! Best, Adella

Hi Adella, I hope you are doing well recently you answered my question which really helped me alot regarding healthcare staffing agency. I have a question which has become a chaos for me now. I would really appreciate if you can answer this question. THE QUESTION IS I want to know if drug testing iss necessary for nurses I hire for nursing home. And if it is required then is it only for temporary workers which are my employees or also for independent contractors meaning permanent employee of nursing home. And if you can also suggest company best for this and how much it cost. And last who pays for drug testing agency or employee and if agency pays and candidate fails drug testing then the lost money will be recoverable from the new hires nurse? KINDLY GUIDE ME ABOUT THIS IF POSSIBLE. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP. Regards Ahmed

Drug testing is not a requirement unless you make it one, since it's your business. You can make it required for all employees or only full-time or only temporary. Your company pays for the drug testing, since they are employed by you and their paycheck comes from you. You WILL not and should not drug test until an offer of employment is extended from the client. That will happen after you interview the candidate, and your client performs their interviews and decides they want that person to work at their healthcare facility. You can and should bill testing fees etc, into your business model for receiving revenue from the client. No, the money isn't recoverable, it's a business expense that you take on as a staffing firm. So, your agency makes money by charging for these services 'placements, screening, interviewing, drug testing, etc. Make sure you charge enough to cover these items for each client. Also, add in extra to cover "just in case they fail the test". I will be hosting zoom class next month teaching how to do all of this and healthcare staffing pricing strategy so you can stay profitable from day one. Make sure you go to adellapasos.com and sign up for the list of leaders so you can get information on the trainings! Best, Adella

I am working as travel nurse the past two years and i want to start my own agency. @Askadella Месяц назад
Sure! I'd recommend you look for attorneys specializing in business law or healthcare law. They can help you draft contracts and navigate legal requirements. Websites like Avvo or FindLaw can help. Upwork or Fiverr, you can find contract lawyers or legal consultants who can assist with drafting contracts for your agency. For understanding market pricing, consider reaching out to industry associations, attending healthcare staffing conferences, or using online resources like IBISWorld or Statista for market reports. When meeting with potential attorneys or consultants, be sure to discuss your specific needs, budget, and timeline to ensure a good fit for your agency. Good luck with your new venture!
