How to start a roll of Scotch® Double-Sided Tape

I was going crazy tring to peel of the first layer, lol!

The video is correct, but doesn't tell you that it will automatically be sticky on both sides after the 8 inches is pulled out. Even after the words on the tape disappeared, there was still a top layer, that I thought had to be peeled off. No, pull more until both sides are automatically sticky! NO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED. 3M NEEDS TO FIX THIS. I saw reviews from 14 years ago on their web site about there being no clear instructions on the product packaging.

Why can't these simple instructions be printed on the cardboard backing of the tape?????

You may want to write that on the tape label for folks who don’t use a computer!!

Well, mine didn't note anything about the first 8 inches. I thought that was the whole thing. I was so disgusted with it I threw it away. Thank you for telling us. I retrieved it out of the bin and now I have a useful item. Scotch needs to put that on the wrapper!

Wow. Would be nice if the label had this information on it. Smh. Why on earth would you not put this on the table? I was seriously about to return the tape I bought because I thought it was just a terrible design.

My protective covering had 3 languages except english! 🤨 And people, make sure to go past a couple of centimeters past the protective tape. Because I was using the clear part of the protective barrier and struggling!! Until i double checked the dispenser 😓 And be sure to put your double sided tape dispenser in a baggie. That way the new tape won't attract dust 😉

I used a basic brand and it still works. Might just buy some of yours after the rolls over, useful straight to the point that's it!

And there is a removable double sided and a permanent double sided type. If removable will have on pkg. Otherwise is permanent and will damage areas if try to remove it. So be sure what type you are using.

Worst product packaging ever. No instructions to peel off the wrapping on either the cardboard tag or the reel. I was ready to throw the useless tape in the bin and go buy another brand. A very poor customer experience.

They need to include pull 8 inches on the instructions...

Put the "photos safe" camera icon on the front, and on the back put the darn directions instead of the sales pitch! Ridiculous that one would have to go online.

Might have been a good idea to simply write this on the packaging instead of letting people struggle before watching this video 🤦🏻‍♂️
