Very good video. Something I love to try. I agree that it was hard to see what she was cutting because of the green behind. When her hand was behind you could see what she was cutting. Hopefully she will do another and keep in mind the background.

Love this idea for topiary with boxwood I love planting boxwood in my garden I have a line of boxwood along one side of my property instead of fencing I trim them with a scalloped shape so it looks like fencing but lush and green, I love it.

There should have been a foam sheet or plain color board behind the boxwood so we could see it clearly. And we would have benefited by seeing close up of cuts. Very interesting. I have started pruning my large boxwood. It's a work in progress. I never know if I should leave a branch or not.

I would make sure not to remove over 50% of the live foliage. Remove competing leaders if your going for tree like shrubs/ trees and make sure the plant is well watered before hand so you don't cause it to be stressed and create excess sprouting. Ilex crenata, buxus sempervirens, some junipers and others who can withstand this also make for great topiary plants, especially ilex crenata!!

Hi Linda we have the Lemon Grass topiary at Lowe's I was afraid of it because it looks like it says that you cannot let it dry out a I will die what do you think I live in North Carolina and Wilmington and I wanted to leave it outside for the winter do you think you'll be okay and this summer because of our hot heat should I put in a shady area

Can one make grown cypress trees into some sort of topiary type sculpture? I recently moved into a house and I've inherited 9 full grown cypress that have been kept trimmed to about 6 feet tall. Don't like them but it's going to be a pain to remove them and they don't look so bad but would love to make something out of them if there is a possibility.

Do you have any plants in pots where you prune the roots because you want to keep them permanent, without moving them to a bigger size pot? I specifically have Japanese maples and because where I live, I have to move them to a shady area during the scorching summer days, I am unable to plant them in the ground. Also other plants that I don't want to repot in bigger pots, both indoor and outdoor. I've looked for videos on this topic and only find on bonsai, which my maple is not. I've come across other videos but they seem done by amateurs,(don't mean to offend). If you do could you do a video on the topic? Also I love all your videos, thank you!
