Great video, however, I’ve got a question. The new theme version of Soledad comes with WP Bakery plug-in, whereas in your video, you’ve obviously used Visual Composer. I’d imagine it’s because ur video is a little old. So, what if I used visual composer, would it make any difference, considering the fact that the theme has been updated? Or does wo bakery have the same functionality as v composer? TIA
Thank you so much! This is the most comprehensive and straight forward video on creating a site that I've ever seen. I'm going to use the Soledad for my travel magazine and just follow along. Do you have a video that shows how to optimize your photos so they don't take so long to load and bog down the load time? I really appreciate it!
You're welcome mmkeno - let us know how you go. We don't have a tutorial on optimising images, but we often use tinyPNG to reduce the file size of images without losing quality. As a general rule, use images with a max width of 1920px for full-width hero images. For images that will cover half the screen, use images with widths of 1920 / 2 = 960px. Obviously, this is a guide so use your best judgement, but this should reduce the file size of your images without images blurring or pixelating. Also, use images with 72 dpi which is standard web resolution.
I really liked this video. It was very detailed . Do you have any videos on how to add links to your blog ? I mean tagging Instagram pages or featuring other blogs in our blog
Hello! first of all thanks for this video! I learned a lot and it is going to help me to build my travel blog. I would like to know if this WordPress theme is valid for a spanish language blog. THANKS!!!
what an amazing video! instead of paying someone i just did the whole thing on my own. i have one question which i cant figure out to find the answer: how do i know the good size of a picture for f.e. a blogpost titel photo, the logo and so on? is there a good size or any size recommendation? Thank you so much
Hi Rebecca, we love hearing that! Here's the link to the theme documentation which has some recommendations on sizing: soledad.pencidesign.com/soledad-document/. As a guide try to ensure the highest res without exceeding 500kb (max). This will ensure your page loads quickly while ensuring your images aren't pixelated. To minimize the file size of images you can always use a tool like: tinypng.com/ - let us know if this helped?
Hey, you may have figured this out by now or went another route, but just in case someone like me comes through and has the same problem I want this comment to help. Per Soledad the name has changed to WPBakery Page Builder. When I checked the file it was there and worked. I hope this helps someone.
I have a question @35:30 on the option for importing demo data, I imported the travel demo twice and now I have duplicate values for each header item, I then imported another demo and now there are three copies of each header item, how do i reset this? i tried re uploading the theme but it didn't helped. everything else is working fine...its only the header items which are getting duplicated.

Lois, if you sign up for a hosting plan you will get a free domain from the available domain extensions. Just reach out to their support team, they're generally really good and will honour your new free domain. Let us know how you go?
I don't think you should do it just to make money - however, if you're savvy and have a unique view to share with the world - there's plenty of opportunity to create a full-time income travel blogging.
