great video very good info for any one thinking of doing it. i have 2 to full line machines on the local pier to me as the pier in summer time gets anywhere from 2000 to 6000 people per day tho in the agreement i pay them £30 a month to cover power and internet that is used on the machines and a payment of %20 of the profits each month to a local charity for homeless but from when i upgraded my machines from just coin to coin and contactless card system my sales went up by 36% and think it helps as the pier has over 70 staff and a lot of them use my machines over using the drinks and food place's on the pier as no wait time
This is excellent mate. Time to build the empire lol. Btw, how many machines do you/did you own? Did you ever employ anyone and grow the business? Do you think applying for a startup loan after a year or two of business would be a good idea?
Very concise for a beginner like me thankyou. I’m looking to do this as a bit of a side hustle, see where it goes and hopefully move up to the bigger machines eventually. Is there a good way of approaching a place location to ask to put it in? What do I say? 😂🤷♂️
Great video. But have a quick question. Who pays for the power used by the Full line vending machine. If its part in the agreement. How much do you pay to the business owner as electricity bill for the machine?
Thank you Samuel! Its very helpful everything you have said. I do have a quick question; Before starting a vending business do you have to register it as a LTD or LLC in England?
Mate, amazing video and tips! I am looking to go in this type of business, got the location, and just wanted to ask when u negotiate the commission. How much should you give to the business owner ?
Hello, firstly your video is complete and fully understandable and your voice is paced and pronounced well so props on a good video lol. secondly i have discovered a contract for 4x drinks machines in leisure establishments but i am going to be renting which is going to cost me £27.50p x4 per week, i was just wondering how much of a return would i see in the first month, i know its based on catchment area and drink types but i was just wondering if you had any ballpark figures on refill times as its the frequency of sales that scares me due to having to rent the machines at just over £100 a month. also is it taxable? will it affects state benefits, house bills, income tax etc thanks for reading, ~Dezzy
Hi Dezzy first of all is the £100 a month per machine to rent the machine of pay a location commission? If it’s rent then be careful your going to be able to cover it. Generally I would want a machine to generate around £500 revenue a month. In terms of state benefits etc, you would have to double check. It will be classes as income and as such will be taxable. Hope this helps 🙏🏻
If you are doing sandwiches and hot food it’s moving a little more away from vending and more like a mobile cafe. Best thing would be to check your council on this. As you’d have to look at expiry dates, refrigeration etc. Sorry I can’t be of more help!
No rent or commission paid, as well as no cost for the power! You always have to see yourself as an equal, you are providing a service just as the business is. Thanks for watching!
thanks for the video Samuel why is a vendor agreement needed? if a facility manager responds, why do we need an agreement then what should our response be?
Hey, great video. If you chose to go for the full line vending machines and you need a contract/agreement with the store, can you do that as a sole proprietor or do you need to have an LTD established? Thanks and keep up the great videos. 😊
Manchester is where I am based. You can DM for the supplier but I really suggest getting someone close to you as it makes scaling and growing so much easier. Try and find a refurb vending business near you. I’m sure there will be one! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I do not have great experience in installing them but I know that it’s not that difficult and there are a few videos online regarding this, most new machines have a spot for a card reader which makes things easier. I always recommend Nayax, they are the most efficient and easiest to use! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Hi, Thanks for making the video. Two questions please. 1. Is it usual to pay a "ground rent" / "situating rent" for the machine or a share of takings? 2. You mention refurbished machines. The these manufacture refurbished? or third party? If third party do you know where they get their machines from? Thanks
No ground rent should be paid and they can be either manufactured or third party refurbished, if third party they are generally machines that were being leased from the manufacturer and they sold them after the lease was up 👍🏻
@@Samuelheaton10 if you go full line vending. Aren’t you using their electricity, space etc? A business would allow you to do that for free? Im in the uk too. What businesses would you suggest approaching if thats the case?
Hi Sam. Great video, I've been looking at vending machines, I found a website that allows you to rent vending machines. Would you say this is a smart option or not?
I’d say probably not to start out with, I’d always pay cash for the machines, that way if you make a mistake and your location isn’t the best, you don’t have payments to keep up with. Thanks for watching!
Great video Samuel. Quick question - With the combo machines the crane brand in particular.. The temperature is mostly chilled (around 14c) rather than cold, would you recommend using a different machine that actually refrigerates the products. - Trying to keep costs low
Hi Azza! The 14•c surprisingly does keep the drinks very cold. You don’t want to go any lower or the machine could over freeze and cause big problems- on top of this remove it’s not you that pays the running costs. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@Samuelheaton10 ok thank you, what brand of machine do you usually use and have you ever received complaints about the temp of products, especially in summer for example
@@azza2575 I use the necta snakky max and never had any complains drinks are extremeley cold to the touch, keo the staff hydrated in the summer months for sure!
@@Samuelheaton10 oh yes the Nectas are all good! It's more the polyvend and Crane I think that keeps the drinks a little on the wamer side. Thank you for the reply, content and your time
Just got put up for redundancy (again) I’ve been weighing up investing for a while and considered vending machines… Is it actually doable this? Thanks for the video
@@Samuelheaton10 thanks so much for responding and that’s positive to hear. It was almost a sign your video coming up today.. I’ve got some cash that I want to invest wisely into low cost startups and I’ve fancied this for a while I’m in UK too so pleased to have found your channel, looking forward to more videos!
How to take over vending machine rout in Ballyclare from Northern Ireland I know 5 vending machine in Ballyclare high school I know 3 in Ballyclare swimming pool centre
Thanks for the advice. What is the approx cost to place a single full line (refurbished) vending machine (price of the machine, delivery cost and first stock)? And how much time does it take you to manage/restock each vending machine per week?
@@mariammfazzini3165 the seller i use is specific to my area and as such wouldn't be the best for yourself, if you just search local vending machines sales in your area, you should be able to find something nearly identical!
Hi Sam. Where did you buy your supplies from for your gumball machines ? We live fairly close to each other as I am in North Manchester and you are in Littleborough.
Tubz website directly for both Pringles and sweets - go to the franchised part of the website for better prices and after you’ve got a good few machines, you get an even better price! Thanks for watching🙏🏻
@@Samuelheaton10 hello Cynthia here, please i want to set up a vending machine in UK, please can you guide me? This is my first time. Please i'm not in the Uk but if you can assist me, i can come over there to set it up. Thanks in Advance
Im looking at buying a vending machine for snacks and drinks to place in my barber and tattoo studio. Ive been told because its not a food business already i have to register as q food business and the council will have to come out qnd check the premises ect? Is this correct?
You can search online for vending contracts and that will give you a general idea of what to put into your contract and in terms of leasing, i would stay away from this. If you get a bad location, you still have to pay regardless of how well youre doing. Try and pay cash for everything! Thanks for watching🙏🏻
Very simple to do there are a couple of videos online on how to do this, most new machines have slots for card readers to go, want to head over to Nayax for the best readers. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Hi Samuel, love your videos. Quick question - you mentioned that having an agreement in place when putting a full line machine a premises, did you have a solicitor draw up this agreement, or did you find a template somewhere? I am in the process of buying my first machine so would really love your advice
Hi! What documents and licenses I need to have in order to start this ? As well as do I pay a percent to the owner of the store. I guess for electricity as well?
Hi there, generally no licenses in the UK but this could be different where you a from. I never pay a percent to the owner as you always have to see yourselves as equals, you are providing a service for employees and/or customers. Same with electricity you should pay 0. Thanks for watching!
@@Samuelheaton10 yes Im talkin for the UK. So what is it - I open a limited company, have a contract with the owner of the shop or what. Its kinda difficult for me to process all the steps 1 by 1. What would be the benefit for the shop owner in this case for him to allow me to use his place for the machine and so on?
Hi there Darren. The software is called NAYAX. It’s a card reader which links to an app with your phone. This allows you to see how much stock you have left and the sales of your machines. The monthly fee is £12 and they take I believe around 3% of sales. Overall most vendors use this and I’d really recommend! Thanks for watching🙏🏻
@@Samuelheaton10 Thank you very much my friend! Great content, starting my own business and I currently work full time in IT so like the tech inventory management software
I would always recommend looking for refurb suppliers in your local area as you can get a good deal but also go and see the machines and how they work! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
No I would not do that. Get a Nayax machine which is a card reader machine and that will hook up to an app which tells you your stock levels! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@Samuelheaton10 appreciate that! Thanks! If I decide that the investment is to pricey for me at the moment would I have to manually check stock if I got a tower machine? As I assume you can’t get one with a card reader.
@@slowfi9652 Generally you want to check after 2 weeks, when it first goes in and then you can guage how much you want to check in. On average between 2-3 weeks!
Wont most of these places require you to pay money to set up the vending machine on their premises? Why would they just let you use their electricity for free snd allow u to make money without any % of the profit
Thanks for the question. There is never a doubt you’ll have to give up some of your profits but the amounts places want is way too much. That’s why I would always push towards giving to charity. Although the location gets no money they are contributing to people who really need it, you don’t have to pay as high a percentage and the location has higher productivity and morale for their staff. It’s a win win.
You said tower vending machines are £60-£110. Then you say you have to go to a Tubz franchisee. Its a good video mate, very helpful, but that part makes no sense
Sorry for the confusion. I think my point was you can get them for £60-£110 used, if you go to a franchise it’s much more expensive, still make some money but it’s costing you a lot more to get started. Appreciate the watch 🙏🏻
@@Samuelheaton10 thanks for clarifying. I have started a vending machine business. I have bought 25 tubz machines and have plans to automate them. I have been trying my best to expand into full line. Its been about two months but not been able to find a good location yet. I watched your other video on finding locations. I was wondering if you had any other tips for closing the sale? Thanks
Hi, thanks for the helpful video. I've tried to find information if I would need a license for my 1st full line vending machine that wouldn't sell food, drink or age restricted products. Any advice? Many thanks in advance :)
Thanks for your question, generally you don’t need a license for vending machines except certain instances for example possibly schools. I would only ever put energy drinks etc in machines that are in adults only areas, such as staff rooms. Thanks for watching!
