Great video, subbed. When you showed wife and Gbaby, back ground looks like Green Screen...lol. Are there NOT any birds in the area? Keep making videos, love them.
Appreciate the love brother! You're what I call GOOD PEOPLE! Hope to heck we can meet up and fish this year. You get up to beautiful Iowa, you got a place to crash! Keep putting out the great vids my friend!
Just to add to it. I use my iPhone XR for all my filming when I’m doing intros Outros sitting in the tackle room people ask me all the time and they can’t believe that is my iPhone I’m doing it with. If you do use the iPhone go into your settings go to your camera and make sure you change the settings of the camera to the 4K and I believe it’s 30 premium 30 frames per Second. Up until recently the editor I used was iMovie on my iPhone. It’s super simple to learn the way I put music on my videos when I use iMovie is simple I screen record a RU-vid video of the music I want and then when I edit it in I just pick audio only for that clip. The only reason I don’t use it that much anymore is it takes up too much space trying to get the clips from the GoPro plus I want to start expanding
I love Debo he's a great guy , and I watch tackle junky alot as well and I watch you alot , I love the passion for fishing you have , the knowledge and I love the equipment you use I love Lew's I own several setups. This summer I am going to get serious about getting my channel going . Hi to your wife and granddaughter.
Awesome that you encourage others to make fishing channels. I'm only fishing once maybe twice a week but I may be able to get something going myself. Tight lines man. Awesome video
That's your story tell it! You don't have to know everything you just have to tell the story of the average guy who loves fishing and tries to get better.
Well done! I just subscribed, and gave a like and hit the bell notification. I started a fledgling channel just in April of 2019 ago and I love it. I use my old IPhone 6S Plus and a wired mic. You have some great content. I have watched your sunglasses comparison video and your new bass jig gamechanger lure review. Like you I am an older man with adult children and young grandchildren (but I also have an infant and 2 toddlers). I look forward to seeing many more of your videos.
As usual, you give a lot of good advice. I do reloading on my small channel. I film from my phone too mostly, except on the shooting range because I need it there for my chrono. My biggest problem is keeping my videos to a reasonable length because believe me, I can ramble lol. But man, if you do start traveling around I would love to fish with you here in south MS. I got a good, tough lake you should try.
I've only watched a few videos so far, but I had to subscribe. I loved your advice about being yourself. I hope to get started soon! Wishing you continued success! 🙂
Thanks for the video man. Been tossing this idea around in my head for a while. I might actually play around with videoing some. I really enjoy watching your videos
*turns phone sideways* Good job man! Hit the sweet spots and gave me a few ideas too! Love the info download. 100% agree with the audio, get a GoPro - I can't stand watching a video with bad video... doesn't matter if you catch awesome fish, audio is huge. I STILL have problems with it. Hey to the fam!
Same here I hate audio it's always such a pain in the a$$. It's a never ending struggle. Had ya shirt on in a video a few weeks back and gave ya a shoutout.
Man only southern guys can bass fish anyway !!!! Lol ur the only one I can understand !,. Fluekmaster, Debo ,. N Mr Roland M. BASSGEEK ! Oh n Brian LAT ,. The best !! Thanks HANK. 😎
Great video!! Started my channel almost a year ago. This helped a ton. Thanks!! Still not great at talking on camera but I guess it will come eventually. You have a great channel. Learn a lot here
Like always thanks for all your insight. It will sure come in handy in the near future. Keep the videos coming and FYI I agree Debo and tackle junkie 81 are awesome. I will have to check out the other(s) you mentioned as well.
First thing : I really like these Informational Videos!!! Second thing : I started Laughing when you were talking about how fast you think your going, and when you watch it back its slower. Hell that's not just a southern thing lol I do it too! and I'm From Ohio. Another thing I do is stumble over words, I try not to script things cause then it's doesn't seem real. Thank you For the awesome Videos!!! Fish on!!!
Awesome video man I’m a small RU-vidr trying hard to grow wondered across your video helped me out alot I’m moving out of the hunting and fishing to just fishing name change and all I’m trying to get out there
I have model building channel and it is what it is lol. Now I was thinking of starting a separate one about starting out fishing from the bank. From research to the first day a lure touches the water.
Awesome video brother!! All those late night discussions about this..haha..yeah I'll get started someday and I'm sure everyone will gain from all this great advice!! You covered everything very well that we had discussed... several times lol. Tell Maria hello for me, great to see your family on the video!
Well I just know that 50K will be here soon!!!!! There exists in my mind a place where good things happen to good people and you sir are good people. I have learned enormous amounts about fishing from you and can honestly say that you have made my progress as an angler a happy journey. Oh by the way I met you at the Raleigh Fishing and Boat show and I think I guessed your weight then to be 165 lbs max!!!!!!! LOL keep up the wonderful work my friend.....
Awesome video man, really glad your doing this series. As you know I mainly live stream and I'm just now getting into the RU-vid editing videos. Used to I just uploaded the entire 8 hour video lol. I kind of feel like I copied the "geek" thing which wasn't intentional at all. I may change it to "ParoTopia Fishing" or "ParoXitiC Fishing" I really don't know some one had ParoXitiC on my live streams on twitch for 3 years now. Thanks again and look forward to the rest!
Thanks for the video. I've already started. Using my gopro but in future planning to buy dslr cause I need sometimes background to be blurred. Welcome to my channel.
Dude, your granddaughter was killin me!🤣🤣🤣 Man if you drag Debo out of them corn fields and put him on a tank, it'll ruin him.🤣 He's built his channel on the dinks. Love watching all you guys. Keep up the good work brother!👊 Oh, I can not stand it when people record with their phones right side up.🤦🏻♂️
@@BassGeek TBH it's no difference then sharing tips for fishing IMO we are all here to learn what works for you might not work for me. Just keep up the awesome work and love to see more videos like this like how you edit a video etc.
Some rock solid advice there, Bro! However, I think you should probably mention, that at the end of the day, CONTENT IS KING! You cannot expect anyone to watch your videos, if the content isnt good. I think that is where most small youtubers fail.
Good video. I managed to start my channel a few weeks ago. Been working towards it for a year, but I didn't record enough videos ahead of time lol. I am about 2 weeks ahead. I hope to build up about 5 weeks ahead, but you have to catch fish to do it LOL. I enjoy your channel, keep up the good work. 2 things I would add: 1. Whatever camera angles you use, make sure the viewers can see you and what is going on well. I hate views from the floor of the boat etc. I am not there yet, but in about 3 videos I will have 3 angles, two from the front, and one to the back for my co angler. I personally don't like a chesty cam because I don't like staring at someones hands for 20 minutes lol. 2. Editing is where the magic is. A well edited video with 5 fish will outperform a video where you just play music and catch 50 fish. Bring in some B roll, show what you are doing, and try to involve the viewer in the catches. (I need to work on this some myself) I try to play music as I don't like a video with no music, but I edit the audio down when catching fish so you can hear what happens in the moment. Anyways, that's my 2 cents!
I'm just glad so many channels out there are trying to use the best phone made or best of whatever they can afford because I just feel like if you're going to put videos up make sure they aren't blurry or just low quality, I can't stand that! I've been accused of being a troll because I have asked channels to fix issues with audio or low quality footage and it's not that I'm rude, I was a camera operator for the sportsman's network and outdoor channel for about three year's and I've filmed in Mexico continuously for a series at one time for over thirty days catching big bass and filming with big camera's, I know what quality is and after filming with the ol' wild Bill Skinner you get it right or you go home and when it's early 2000's and your making 250 a day plus room and board and flights with paid airport parking you make it perfect 👍. Btw good job! Your efforts are nice , imo.
Well you have to remember people are starting on low or no budgets with no big camera or audio or production budget at all. It's one guy doing what a team done with you. I'm the talent, I'm the camera guy, I'm the editor, etc. Sometimes it's just bad and you have to get content out. Oh while you work a full time job. So take in the total there is no comparison to what you did. Hell to have 1 other person would be heaven for me. That's just the tip of it all.
Are use the GoPro hero four. My wife was buying it for me I told her to find a refurbished one just in case I couldn’t figure it out or just didn’t like it. I think she paid right around $100 for it and I’ve had it for about a year and a half now and it works perfect. The reason I went with the hero for the hero seven had just come out, but I always heard the hero four was the best one to use as far as trying to use an external microphone with
I need all the help 8 can get lol. I have a galaxy a51 phone, a gopro hero 3+ silver and a gopro 5 black coming. For Chest view and clip seat view. I use my phone on tiktok and Instagram now. I have shorts up I did with my phone
@@BassGeek every little bit of information helps. Like now I know I need a better memory card just to shout in anything over 1080p lol my gopro5 4k and 2.7k glitches with the current sd card ughhh
Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it!...I love to fish with my little girl, we started a channel about a year ago but it just doesnt seem like my videos get the views, like, comments that it should after 1 year....dont get me wrong,I know its a process and 6 months ago I wouldve loved to be where I am now but I just wonder sometimes if I doing something wrong or is my channel growing at a normal rate....I have 403 subscribers in about 11 months which isnt terrible but not alot of views, likes or comments, and thats what makes me wonder if my videos are good or not....so hard not to think about those things but the good news about this is, it wouldnt matter if I only had 5 subscribers, I still love going fishing with my little girl and editing videos so I guess PATIENCE is what I need :) I love watching videos of more established youtubers talking about their journey, keep up the great work BassGeek!
I definitely think you should do more videos about your journey from beginning to where you are now...creek fishing adventures has some good videos like that talking about his journey and broke it down how much money he made through the process....very interesting! I think people would be very intrigued if you do that as your channel has grown very well, congratulations on that!!
Good information. I started mine a year ago and it has been a tough road! Picked up speed up to 1K but after that it is like pulling teeth to get to 2K. The big thing that people have to remember is that subscribers only give you an idea of who is watching, what you are looking for is the 80% of people that do not subscribe as that 100% (the two combined) are what gives you the watch hours. On the name, I could not think of anything either so I googled fishing terms. The very first one was Asleep At The Reel. I researched it and it was free so boom. Yolo stick with 128 card at 2.7K on the Hero 7 Black gives me 4.5 hours of continual footage. Man I have been behind the camera for 35 years now being in front is terrible. Ha ha. Good information brother!
Right now I just use youtube for watching everyone else but I am planning on starting my channel soon. I have my real name on here right now but am thinking on changing it to BigCountryOutdoors. What do you think? I want to do fishing videos mainly but will probably add my hunts and other outdoor related things as well. Thanks for your help and your videos.
Man the biggest thing is keep the batteries in a cool place. I have the same issue. If you use a Yolotek power stick you can take the battery out which also helps
BG, I believe when I started watching fishing videos, you were the 1st person I subscribed to. And I dont like subscribing to a lot of channels. Why did i subscribe u you ask? 1st, It was your non pressure sales pitch, Lol. "Like it if u like it". And I thought that was cool! Not like everyone else begging me to hit the subscribe button. I actually thought about it, ya i like what this guys showing me, no pressure, I like it , so i finally subscribed. *Thats why I keep telling u to make that shirt, "Like it if you like it". And ill buy one! Save me an XL pls. The 2nd reason i subscribed is that you answer questions. That right there keeps me coming back and I have loyalty to your channel. I appreciate it very much when u respond back cause I want to learn things I dont know. This new topic i look forward to., maybe when I retire in a couple of years, Ill start a channel too. Keep up the good work.
I'm working on a couple shirts including that one. It's a great idea. I love fishing but never knew how much I would love doing this, the RU-vid part. I feel like I've found my thing. For the first time in life.
@@BassGeek Im glad you found your "thing". Lol. Youre good at it, i think your viewers enjoy youre personality and knowledge. Keep the tape rollin on the vids. I just followed you on your instagram page.
Thanks much for the tips as I'm putting up my first video on Wed. this week. Name of my channel is Rippin Lips with Marty Lawson...do you think the name is too long? I plan to focus on local folks that make rods and baits. Thanks!
Any tips for growing after your initial start? I’m averaging 278 views and 1 subscriber a day according to social blade and I want to know how to convert viewers into subscribers? Great video!
I have been wondering about that. But I wasn't sure if I change my few followers won't recognize the new name. My initials are MBP. I was thinking MBP multi species outdoors. Or maybe MBP outdoors.
My iPhone 11 Pro has been magic for me. It made filming my videos extremely simple and editing a breeze. I’d recommend for anyone using a smartphone to also get a lavalier mic and battery packs! My iPhone needed one of those double lightning cable dongles to plug my mic and charger in if your battery is running low. Its my action cam as well. This is great advice too thanks a lot bassgeek! Would it be possible to get your feedback on my videos?
BassGeek sweet will be looking forward to it! Not gonna lie but this is so hard. Not sure if it’s supposed to be like this or not or maybe I’m just doing something super wrong haha. Looking forward to your next! Tight lines my friend!
@@BassGeek My moms family was from a very poor part of North Carolina. My grandpa ran mining equipment and came north in 1960 cause pay was better. As soon as he retired in 1980 he headed back down south. I should have tagged along!
