Hope you guys enjoyed seeing a little of this classic piece. Always fun to take and put around these old car Like and Subscribe if you want to see more!
Enzo, good video and nice truck too. Thank you. I want to offer the following: When you're up-shifting through the gears, if you move the shifter slowly and lightly, it should go into 2nd and 3rd without double-clutching, and without grinding. Don't force the shifter, think of it as being a fine instrument. Also, while double-clutching tends to be a requirement for down-shifting, when familiar enough with a given vehicle, it is possible to down-shift without double-clutching, but it's something that can't be done quickly, like when someone is riding your tail.
Well done! Glad to see some younger car buffs play with Model A's. I hope you and your dad have joined a Model A club in your area. Lots more fun getting together with other Model A'ers.
I got my Model A, a 1928 Fordor leatherback, when I was 16, in 1972. Fully agree for anyone that has an old car to find a club and have a great time in the old car Hobby !
Really great video, it held my attention all the way through. I thought I knew how to drive an old A but you taught me a couple tricks. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, it reminds me of California during my childhood. For another video, I would be really interested in your driving impressions of that fastback Buick!
I noticed you have a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air sedan too. I had the same car when I was in the Army in the 1960s. I should have kept it; it was a great ride.
Good video. You don’t have to double-clutch to upshift, only to downshift into second or (almost never) first. You can get into first easier at a stop if you first shift into second slow the input shaft. Also, you can leave the spark advanced even at idle.
It's nice when you live out in the country and have lots of room to drive slow in a Model A. Such is not the case for us suburban city dwellers, though. How about taking out that '32 Phaeton?
I'd drain the gas line and fix that leak if I were you. That shouldn't leak. I had a leak in the fuel guage on mine and that wasn't fun. Not hard to fix though.
