My first time EVER playing a TTRPG I was hosting Portal under the stars with my aunt and uncle and when they reached the fire throwing statue my aunt noticed her farmer had a Cow with them and asked if they could use the cow as cover. I laughed and agreed. So most of our party crouched behind their cow as it got roasted until the statue ran out of Fuel. 😂 I will never forget it
I've played DND for 30+ years. Now in two campaigns and looking at finally DMing/judging + am really thinking about running DCC. Thanks for the video!!!
"And I said, roll for it. The guy rolled an 18 !!" "And he cast, despite not being a level 1 yet." "And it was sooo EPIC." "He still died, ☠but it was so cool for those couple of seconds he was still alive." Fark I wanna play now!
Also keep an eye out on Humble Bundles too. Goodman Games usually has a DCC bundle every few months for the PDF version of DCC and some modules. At least for me having a PDF version on a laptop makes it's really easy to search for something. The first time fan kits are worth it just for the dice and a softcover of the core rules. I burnt out on fantasy as a genre when I was abut 19 or 20 years old (that was 30+ years ago). It was all the same old same old, tame cookie cutter homogenized BS. DCC is hanging up the black light posters, smoking a bong, and playing some metal. The punk attitude of early 80s mixed with Conan, Wizards, Fire & Ice, and the movie Heavy Metal.
I bought my new players some zocchi dice from Impact miniatures. They really appreciated it and they always are excited about rolling them. :I've started a couple of groups of friends on DCC and they always have a blast. Great system!
