You just saved me. Key fob died when pulling up to a restaurant on Tybee Island. Wondered how I was going to start the vehicle when we came out. Quick google search and your video popped right up. Cheers!
Another great vid. I had no idea! Did you know you can push the key ring bit of the key further in if you don't actually use it? It makes the key look so much better. Just press the button at the back that releases the key, but instead of pulling, just push it in and BAM! SEXY KEY 🤣😎
Hey David, In the 2017 model its slightly different once your inside the car you can remove the silver start button (it just clicks on and off) to reveal an insert for the key. A bit like plugging in a usb cable! Then you can start up the car manually :)

Hey Neil, No problem! Always here to help :) When we installed mine we had a few issues. We discovered that it had to be hooked up directly to the battery at the front of the car (to the right of the engine). Don't connect it up to the fuse box it has to goto the actual battery at the front of the car. This is because the car is a little smart and detects a foreign power and cuts it off when the cars not been running for 30 mins, which is not good for parking record! We took the wires through the glove box directly to the battery. This solved an issue where the parking record would cut off after 30 minutes and stop recording. Once it's hooked to the battery in the Thinkware app you can goto the settings and set the voltage for it to cut off and stop recording so that it never drains your batter below 50% for example.
in W203 what can i do? it turns to 2nd position where all the electronics turn on but in 3rd position when I start the car it doesn't start it is dead. what can i do. can i start it with the metal key from another hole?
I have an MB R350 which has dead battery and locked me out. I have tried skeletin key in only key lock on drivers door no luck. How do you gain access to get to battery without damaging a door. 🤔 Any help appreciated.
Happened today to me . Went dead suddenly. Unfortunately this is not working either to start it. Not sure why. 😡. Very annoying u can’t use a key like in previous model for emergency’s
There’s a little button on the back of the key, press and pull the top and a blade key will come out. You can then use this to remove the door handle (there’s a little key hole under the handle) then there’s another keyhole to open the door manually using the same key.
Since you seem to be answering questions I never knew I wanted an answer to, here's a few more :-) * Can TrackPace be retrofitted? * Can you avoid the full "drive mode display" popping up momentarily when you turn sport exhausts on or off?
Hey Erwin, I'm going to be honest I don't have the answer to both those questions I'm afraid! That would be great if TrackPace could be retrofitted. I've seen people retrofit the entire digital dash so It's probably possible. I myself wouldn't know where to begin though! I suspect it's 100% software so this would likely involve installing a new system version matching a C63 for example. It could all get very messing considering the software will be designed for different drive modes such as race. Just thinking about it further while typing this makes it sound more impossible! But I'm sure someone has done it! For the second one I suspect this is just something hard coded into the software, I don't think they allowed an option to disable this.

Hi - as you recommended I getting the thinkware on my car - do you have yours on parking mode, does the red light stay on when that happens and does it drain the battery?
Hey Neil, you can turn the red light on and off in the menu. You can choose what voltage it stops recording so you can set it up so that once the battery is at half capacity it cuts out so it does not drain it all the way.

Hey, sorry to hear that. Have you tried replacing the battery in the key fob? You’d be surprised how quick they die. Some dealerships will replace the battery at every service I’ve discovered.
If you press the little button on the key you can pull out the end of the key to reveal a blade key. Use this in a little slot under the door handle to remove part of the handle and reveal a key hole. The blade key then opens this hole to unlock the car door.
