I started 3 years ago and couldn' t be happier. Home-grown vegetables taste way better than what you can get from the store. Now if I only had the room for chickens and bees ...

I live in town and am raising quail and rabbits in my garage. I get forty quail eggs a day and lots of meat to boot, plus a lot of fertilizer for next year. Jumbo Coturnix quail. It's awesome.

I wish you would list what you spent on testing, Lyme, 2 different fertilizers , straw, cages, seeds and plants. I’m guessing you spent $250 to grow $40 in vegetables

That soil looks like high clay content. I would have added more compost to better break it up.

Squash and cucumbers can’t cross pollinate. This is because the genetic structure of the two plants is so different; there is no chance, short of laboratory intervention, that they can interbreed. Yes, the plants may look somewhat similar, but they are not all that similar really.

I just used my atv with snow chains on it. Then I tore up the ground with it and pushed the ground with the snow plow attachment on my atv. You could use a horse if you want have them eat away the grass then start from there. Or you could place a tarp on the grass and kill it by starving it from sunlight.

I till the dirt in my yard with a Roto tiller.What do I do next .I'm going to plant pine bushes around my fence.Than plant grass seeds.

Put your soil in a plastic bucket so as not to contaminate with a metal bucket but it’s perfectly fine to use a metal spade to pick it up and mix it all around😂

excellent way to start a veggie garden. soaker hoses can be problematic, irregular and too slow watering.

I did not realize that I can have soil samples done through my local Southern States. I have always sent them off to the NC Department of Agriculture. So, any local Southern States will take my soil sample? Is there a charge for this service?
