The things you've encouraged are things I do naturally and absolutely agree with. However, I've noticed when I visit places like London (I live in England), people there have an awkward response to you smiling or even striking up a conversation with them. It becomes apparent very quickly that you're from out of town when people look at you funny for doing so 😅.
