Not only staying "in shape" but building and maintaining an strong, athletic frame is the key for older men. It sets you a part from 90% of the population.
@@TheStyleOG spot on advice! I am retooling my whole wardrobe since I changed careers! Luckily not pressed about keeping up with fads, still focused on the fundamentals, but it's helpful to know what's cool. Def cribbing a few of your looks ;)
I wanted to share something with you that we chatted about a year ago... weight. Last year I would jokingly comment about wanting to wear what you suggested, but was too big for. Well, Ive gone from 289 to 225, XXX/XXL to XL in shirts and Jackets, L in T-shirts, Size 42 Waist to 36, Suit Size 52 Reg now 48 Reg... I couldn't imagine. Thank you for your contribution.
Sir Jeffery, once again another awesome and definitely on-point video for all of us mature fashion conscience gentlemen I'm 68 years of age and in fairly decent physical shape and can pull off wearing just about most men's clothing styles in practice however I often try to avoid fashion trends I lean more toward classic clothing because as you know in the fashion business what's in today may be out tomorrow and back again the next day for me classic clothes provide me with that "sweet spot" where I look age appropriate most of the time I agree adding one or two trendy items to your wardrobe arsenal can help to improve your overall look thanks for the suggestions much appreciated!
I'm in my 40's and dress well most of the time but if I want to be comfortable, I wear nice athletic clothes which typically look silly on guys my age. However, I am still athletic looking and many people know me as a former athlete so I feel I can pull this off despite my age.
Great video Jeff. I am 62 at 5'5 tall and exercising at home to lose 5-10 pounds. When it comes to clothing and style, I avoid anything too bold and significant.
I have a good diet and workout , year round. lots of cycling in the summer.indoor workout in my home for winter , plus my job lots of movement . about 20,000 steps .very slim and fit. lots of nice clothes over the years .
A big 🫡 and happy New Year! I’ve been on board since 2017, and you have helped me improve myself in many ways. That being said, I just so happened to walk past my son’s bedroom a little after Christmas and caught him watching your channel!!! He is 13 and in middle school! I asked him what was up, and he said, there is a girl in his class he is trying to get with! I saw my wife look like she was about to cry(🤣🤣), while I had a proud dad moment! Thought I would share and say thank you !!!
To me nothing beats the '90s styles. I used to love my WU wear Johnny blaze. I used to have the big pun goggles on my head tilted to the side. One thing that I love but I won't ever wear cuz I'm definitely too old where the graffiti overalls. Now I can dig some polka dots if it's a good looking shirt and I can get it to match at my age with an outfit. Kwame!! 🤣🤣👍🏽
Salute to you sir great video and content for us older men. As we get older we should workout, eat healthier and take a daily multivitamin and stay away from baggy clothes.
My belief in fashion, no matter how old ,you can't go wrong when what your wearing fit to size, weight and you matching. But leave the sport team jersey at home, unless your going to a sports bar or the actual game to cheer for your team.
Hello Mr O.G how are you? man i was seeing power book II Ghost and would like to suggest the analysis of Daniel Sunjata (Mecca in the series) outfits because he looks incredible
Great info as usual O.G. but my question to you is what shade of the Volt coloring do you use, the black or the black/ brown... I'm close to your complexion and I use it but I don't want to look like a fool.
I have always done my own thing and my own style but as I have aged, I realize I have to be careful about wearing to trendy clothes. I have to be honest Jeff. I use you as my Avatar. After watching your videos, I realize I only have to add a few pieces to update my wardrobe.
You changed my fashion life every time someone asks where I got my clothes or shoes. I tell them all about you. Please do another video on affordable style brands that most men don't know about. Much love, brother 🙏
Great tips OG! I never heard of the "style avatar" concept before - I'll have to put that to work and find one. "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying!" Appreciate the video 🫡
Here's a tip from another OG: be careful with gray facial hair. In many cases it adds years to your looks. As you get older a clean-shaven face will make you look younger.
Truth. I’m 67 and clean shaven. I follow a skin care routine. Minimal wrinkles and crow’s feet. People tell me I look younger than I am. I like hearing that.
The O.G. Is right on point. I’m an older guy that dates younger women and being in shape is paramount. Also they are attracted to you because you’re older and they want you dressed sharp but not like men their age. Just never let them see you get up from the floor those knees are a dead giveaway lol
A warning about mining the OG Fashion Cycles Wheelhouse: If you remember it from the first time around, it may be too young for you now. Notice how-or-if it's been updated; a cool, careful selection can be fun and look great. Thank you, Jeffrey!
Keeping in shape is the real challenge. I find my best motivation comes from working daily in a peer group, in an office environment who are 20 years younger. That is when your physical condition is more noticeable than the cut of your suit. I really liked the clothes you were wearing today. As usual your style mirrors clothes that I think I want to be seen wearing on a daily basis. Phil.
Hey Jeff, do you wear French cuff shirts by any chance?💭🤔 If so, can you do a video on how and when to wear French-cuff shirts and cufflinks? P.S. Love the Navy pinstriped blazer here, one of my favourite blazer/suit styles!😎💯
I'm never gonna dress like a granddad, no Hawaiian shirts, no khakis. But one thing I definitely agree is not dressing like a kid. I don't even think 25 yr old should dress like kid. Oversized basketball shorts and jerseys should stay on elementary students. Thing is if you care about your fashion you should care about your body. I know men who will scarf down 3 number 4s but won't visit their doctor for a check up, won't visit a nutritionist to find the right vitamins and supplements. Hey, if you're like Tony Soprano and love your gut, then you win!! But if you constantly trying to hide your gut you might as well, get rid of it. And I'm living proof it can happen. Only advice I can give is don't listen to anyone on how to get there, you know the basics, cut out white devils sugar, salt, flour. But no one can tell you the steps. It's different for everyone.
Amazing information as always; being in my mid forties I find myself often the younger of my peers so its a struggle, for me not to tend to dress older than I am, or fail miserably when I try to incorporate trends to hang with my younger Siblings. I am grateful to the Style OG for suggesting a Style Avatar, amazing post.
At 55 years old I try to incorporate some trends into my style. Sometimes I’ll try piecing outfits together that I normally wouldn’t have worn together and use work as my runway. As always Jeff thank you for your pointers and tips. #salute
