I'm learning so much about homeschooling with your latest videos! My daughter is 7 and hates school and gets picked on. It's refreshing to see homeschooling in a whole new light rather than all those misconceptions out there.
I love your attitude towards the "mandates" comment. Everyone needs to shut it and live their lives. I remember the $50 charge at the beginning of school, not to mention all the extra clothing, lunch boxes, bags, transportation. I think homeschool is around the same so far, including the materials and curriculum. But we mostly learn life skills. We just learned all about gardening and I didn't even need to teach her. She's 4 and knows more about gardening than I did when I first started at 25
I did the math, for me to go out in this crazy world and get a job to pay for a decent private school ( public school is absolutely not an option) it will cost more in taxes, transportation and wardrobe expenses, commute, headaches and aggravation at the job and time away for my child that i could never redeem AND still have to do homework at night! No thank you. My child gets plenty of social time , she has activities and see a lot of the same friends who homeschool Too. We are around like minded families and it feels great. We do 1.5 hour school work in the am and then we can do what we want. Take our time with fun projetcs, life skills, exploring places etc...and play. Kids need to play! I dont see any con, i don t care about alone time, i had a child to be a mom and that is my job now i love it, best job ever!

It’s so mindblowing how much people don’t get how good homeschool is for the kids 🤯🤯 I am doing the same thing with mine, and it’s crazy how hard it is to explain. Thank you for putting this content out and hopefully expanding peoples minds!

I homeschooled my kids and belonged to a homeschool co-op for 10 years. The co-op that we were in had great enrichment classes. My son over the years did two dissection classes, history, cooking, and art. My son and daughter were both in plays. My daughter did science and literature classes. We had amazing moms teaching the classes and others that helped. All of the moms had to participate in some way. It was an amazing experience and I would do it over again in a heartbeat. I only stopped homeschooling because I had to go to work full-time and my husband teaching part-time at a Christian school and they were able to get scholarships to the school he was teaching at. I am not saying it is for everyone and we just made a commitment a year at a time. My son is now a history major (senior at UCLA) and plans to get his teaching credential next. Teaching is a passion of his. My daughter wants to teach science. Their dad is a choir director at a charter school.
Hayley! I love these homeschool videos 😁 I’ve been homeschooling for ten years now, I love it!! I use a combination of Charlotte Mason and Waldorf. It’s so great to see your enthusiasm for homeschooling your kids and for me to see it with fresh eyes again 😊

That’s so amazing! We are homeschooling (3 kids 3 and under so pretty much the same as you) and I feel the exact same way. My heart got so excited for you though when you told me all about the things you do with the kids. we are in Canada and basically aren’t “allowed” into any public places anymore so to say it’s been the hardest, most life-altering season, is an understatement. I pray for my boy’s future and hope that we can move to the US or one of the freedom states in the next couple of years if we fly private to get out of here!
I'm on the fence about home schooling but currently I don't feel equipment so I'm working on myself at the moment. I will give Montessori school a go for preschool and decide after if I want to do home schooling. Please do continue to share.

I live in southern CA too. Somewhat surprisingly we are actually a pretty low regulation state when it comes to homeschool. There are other states I wouldn’t even consider moving to because it’s too regulated. HSLDA really is a great resource for this.
I have a 3 and 5 year old and moved to Washington a few months ago.. you are right the California weather is AMAZING we are adjusting to this new weather still lol

I've always been curious about home schooling options and unschooling for when my husband and I are ready to have kids because of how stressful the school experience was for me growing up. Hailey homeschooling doesn't come naturally to everyone it definitely takes a special person who knows how to teach and has a lot of patience. Some kids also don't do well with homeschooling. You'll see what I mean soon. I did both homeschooling and public school. We did well homeschooling in the early years. I used to be a teacher and that helped me a lot. Eventually my kid wanted to go to school and that is ok. Public schools are not that bad. Every option has its pros and cons.
I find it hard to keep the house clean just being with 2 kids! I have toddlers now but I’m really thinking of homeschooling. I teach Montessori and I’d love for them to go to school if I get a job as it’s a great environment . But, I want them to have more outside time than school allows, so idk. I might homeschool if I could find a cohert. I do feel like I’ll be judged and we need to definitely find social for them. My three year old sole friends but we need more.

Love that you are homeschooling! I only have one middle age kid we are also in California and also love the weather but would love a home with some extra land. I think the closer we come to God the more we realize how the world is so messed up and start changing our values . If the 💉 ever becomes mandatory I would take my son out of school!

It’s just that “non homeschool” choices are being so generalized here. Her values are her to own and defend, but she has no idea what she’s talking about. Many schools give real world experience that prepares them life and finding their passions. Graduates go on to be artists, doctors, engineers, and even social workers. From knowing a lot of homeschoolers, it’s the parents who had a bad experience with school themselves that do it for their own kids. Regardless of what the aspirations or desires their own children have.
You wouldn't believe the number of people with college degrees I have met who still think "should of" is correct and cannot properly format dialogue (I cringe every time I see someone put a period before "s/he said") or even tell there/their/they're apart. They weren't homeschooled either. So pretty safe to say that being in school doesn't mean that people will learn to speak and write well. Also, if you feel like Hayley doesn't speak and write well, remember that SHE WENT TO SCHOOL. If that's where you learn how to speak and write well, why didn't she? Why would anyone rely on the system that failed to teach them something to then teach it to their children?
