I wanted to share with you my breeding work and it's significance to improve production by preventing blossom drop.

So interesting! Would be excited to learn more about how the mutation you spoke of was found and how parthenocarpic is then bred into future plants.

I will definitely continue to highlight the work including it's background and breeding. Stay tuned.

Where can I get some seeds to try?? Very interesting

I can't elaborate much right now because I'm partnered, but I hope to soon.

Enjoy hearing your opinions on growing, such as the effects of stress. Also, I've noticed more blossom drop indoors versus outdoors for the same plants. Either that or I have got stronger winds than I realize to carry away blossoms. I have seen that in my greenhouse too though. Always fun to share thoughts and see what you are doing.

I enjoyed making this video. I wish I could take credit for much of the info, but it was sourced from a few places especially the University of Florida. I do know that pat-b stops blossom drop.

What size are those Linery fabric grow bags that you have the squash and egg plant growing in ?

He’s just showing off his garden. We need information about bloom drop!
@C3Voyage
@C3Voyage 4 месяца назад
I'm not sure what that means. Aren't all gardeners on YT showing their garden? What I'm trying to communicate in this video is that the genetic capability of my tomato lines is similar to parthenocarpic cucumbers sold today, using examples. It does not drop blossoms like normal tomato lines because it doesn't have to be pollinated to grow fruit. Normally, if a tomato flower doesn't get pollinated, it will drop a flower. Integrating the genetic capability my lines have into all tomatoes will STOP blossom drop and increase production. I have partnered with scientists and a geneticist to bring this capability to all people. It's been a long road. One way or another, I'll make sure it gets out. I hope the extra information here helps.

This video was worthless

Why?

@@C3Voyage The video was titled how to stop flower drop. Most folks are looking for ways to help prevent this from happening. We are not breeding, they are just looking for something that could possibly help the average gardener. What you are doing isn’t what the average gardener is going to do. Not helpful at all.

@@cindyinpcola The title is 100% correct and the subject matter supports it. You may not understand that I'm perpetuating a unique form of parthenocarpy that can alleviate blossom drop throughout the world--everyone, all the time. Once the geneticist finishes mapping the trait, it will hopefully go into licensing for the major breeders in major ag who can incorporate the trait into all modern tomatoes similar to the latest disease control. I am the only breeder/person than can do this. The trait enhances production because there's no need for pollination. The videos I do on my parthenocarpic lines are to inform the public. I am hoping to generate demand to help further the trait. I am hoping the fix for blossom drop, production, and environment limitations in tomato will hopefully end in less than 10 years for most. I understand your position. You're looking for a quick fix problem you're having. I'd just say hopefully your next video will accomplish that one, but I'll take a quick stab at it for you as I am a horticulturist. So, for you specifically, and for right now, blossom drop is common due to where tomato originates and it's migration out of that environment into "hostile" environments. It is annoying, but it is a survival mechanism for the plant. Cherry tomatoes set fruit better than larger fruit. There are some so-called "heat set" that do, eh, ok. The issues that cause blossom drop are many, but mostly it's due to pollen viability. > 90F during day and/or > 70F during night, < 60F, wet or humid environments, diseased plants, and over/under fertilization. In the South, shade cloth will help quite a bit. I hope that helps. In the end, my primary target is to improve tomato production for all gardeners and farmers.

@@C3Voyage Clickbait for your little project. I know what causes this in my tomatoes where I live and what I can do to attempt to mitigate this problem. Good luck
