Never give up! I've had many situations where I would've lost a fight or getting 3rd partied so I'd run and heal to fight another fight and often times I surprise myself with how far I end up lasting. Don't always rush new zones, play the edge and watch for late rotaters. Always be aware of your surroundings, keep track of how many players left and their positions. Most importantly, have fun! 🍻

Swapping between weapons quickly is one thing I suck at, which also gives you an edge. My fingers need to get used to it, but I always scroll a bit too far or tap on the wrong key. I've even thrown a chug splash at the opponent during a 1v1.

This dudes the real deal! I just started playing Fortnite once zero builds got here and I went from getting 1 maybe 2 dubs a season to double digits this season, and most of it is due to his tips.

Thanks to watching Jake I’ve started to play more aggressively, used to hide out on the edge in bushes but no more and the game is more fun, this is a good watch today as I usually blow it at the end and panic into swopping to splashes instead of gun or hammer and my biggest problem is either running out of ammo and having to reload and dying then thinking why the hell did I not switch guns. Guy dropped on me yesterday with hammer and I had thunder pump and kept firing and of course lost as too slow, I’m carrying purple smg arghhhhh why did I not swop guns. It’s sort of a panic freeze thing but I know what I’m doing wrong and trying to improve, thanks Jake, love your info.

I’ve only got 8 wins and I always do great in early game. I get like 10 kills then die in the end game.

The amount of pros you kill in mid air is unbelievable... I started playing October 2022 on PS4, had 3 crown wins. Had to convert to my tiny switch lite and this season I somehow nabbed up 29 crowns so far. Mostly from solos, and you're right keep moving and gun em' down!

Another informative video. Perhaps you could make us an "Inside The Mind" and/or spectating video featuring analysis of multiple short clips of end game scenarios. I would also like to see a video suggesting different ways one might bait end-game opponents to reveal their position. Your strategy tips have helped improve my game noticeably, and these days I have better understanding of why (when I lose a match) and what I might do to prevent the same occurring in another match. A few months back, I realised for the first time that I could view my Career stats in the Lobby area and was shocked to see that - despite having a good number of Crown wins - I was averaging LESS than one kill per game. I subsequently made a determined effort to get my Kills-per-game ratio up and - although I initially won fewer Crowns - being more aggressive has improved my overall game and the Crowns are beginning to flow again. It also helped to have the Hammer Assault rifle back in Season 4 - which really suits my playing style; if/when they phase it out, I'm in big trouble...

Jake - any tips on hipfiring on remote? Or which weapons have advantages hip fired vs. ADS? I struggle with accuracy when I'm not ADS'ing, but obviously can put me at risk of lack of player mobility in a fight where someone just AR's me to the brain 3 shots in a row and I'm toast. Struggling to find the balance in my approach.

When in final 3-5, I've left a player with only minimal health and not finished them off (when they run away) this allows the other remaining players to expose themselves (like picking up spilled loot) They may even do some damage to others before getting eliminated.

Could you make a video on off meta items like grenades and cow catchers? Are they useful? How can we maximize them?

49 wins so far this season. I have the most success with a hammer and storm mark this season. I’m also finding that the danger hero augment can really help at endgame in 50/50 situations.

35 Wins this season with 10 being solo wins, I've improved a lot and sort of got comfortable getting into fights from learning from Jake.

Hey Evolvejake, Thanks for the videos. My coworker and I both watch a lot of them while at work all day.

When I started playing i used to try and get to endgame to try and 3rd party and get a lucky win but then i found as i got better i would run to every fight during the game and thinking about it this is worse as its harder to get to end game when you drop at a hot spot and run to every fight you hear but at least now when i do get to endgame i am not nervous. It’s a fine line between making it to endgame.

I feel like it all just comes down to positioning, timing, awareness and decisiveness. If you have those 4 along with decent skills and loadout you are in a very good spot.

If you get a player that rifts away, get in the rift also if you're near! Pop your glider asap and follow that player lol they won't know what hit them when you blast them away after lading next to them ✌️😂

Can you make a video on which guns should go where in the inventory slots, etc... Shields and stuff too. I play on console so pressing a number doesn't insta equipt what I want. I have to scroll through weapons and items... I think having a solid setup would be helpful advice because you'd then memorize where a certain gun is and how many times to press RB from your current gun is by muscle memory eventually like any other game. I just wanted to ask for advice on an order to set em up

I've won lots but only have 5x crown wins , on average 5 to 10 kills per match ! Fairly comfortable fighting but still struggle close up . Winning I can do but winning x2 in a row to get the crown win generally is hard .

How many wins I have in Chapter 4 so far, 1 squad win, 2 trios win, 1 duo win, and 12 solo wins. Got one solo win last night with my highest kill count so far of 18. It was an easy free lobby though. But the last default had a nimbus cloud, deku smash, and a kamehameha. I used all three of my charges of the hammer to avoid the smash and kamehame. By the fourth time, I got enough tags on him to just full fry him before he got off the kamehameha.

Is any one else having an issue with weapons switching/shotgun firing having a lag? Like I go to shoot any type shotgun and the second shot doesn't come out when I'm in close proximity fights, like it's jammed up. Same with weapon switching in close proximity. Knowing my hammer is two taps away on pad and to end up on a 1 tap reloading weapon is frustrating

Late game No build is where I thrive thankfully, but looting up to get to late game? Different story Also, how did that deku not kill you at 5:02 ?? It went straight through you. My biggest problem with the game is all the inconsistencies.

I'll deliberately ignore the number of players left to try and avoid getting nervous about the endgame but that did not go well for me one time where I was dead positive we were the final two and it turned out it was final three...
