Funny how we both watched the same youtuber and both decided to stop procrastinating. I just started a few days ago and I'll make sure to not go back. Also I join that youtubers 12hr study streams and I stay active in my own way. :)

@@abhayraj4189 You could still just get the extension on your computer and just not use youtube on your phone. You could also get NewPipe (not on the app store but you can download it third-party), and it's just youtube without trackers and stores with local data rather than server. I suggest NewPipe because I don't think there's a "recommended" section, only a page where you see videos from people you subbed to, so just don't subscribe to anybody and you shouldn't get distracted as easily. Then you can just use YT itself as an entertainment tool

Just read one sentence. Ask yourself if you could handle reading one more. If you can't, go back to relaxing. If you can, read one more and ask yourself the same again. That's what I do :)

my worst problem that stops me studying is probably comparing myself to other people cos I end up seeing how much awesome work everyone else is doing and how much they achieve, so much so that i feel like i may aswell do nothing since ill never achieve that. Sometimes you just gotta accept that you are your own person and can only work as hard as you can. Good luck :)

I have that same problem, you're not alone I sometimes forget that I'm my own person with my own struggles, I may not be able to understand things that easy or remember easier, but their will never be a person like me but in a better version because I'm the best version of my own and I will strive to keeping growing every day :)

what works for me is "out of sight, out of mind" I erase all Social media apps on purpose until whatever it is im doing gets finishes and then I'll use it as a reward. you don't need discipline, your discipline comes to you when you change your habits for the better.

In my case i think about the degree i don't have but people keep saying you can get the job without that degree but you will have a disadvantage ofc. And i don't have time for stupid degrees i always hated school. . And ofc i could be a freelancer too which is even better. .

Increase the resistance of the things that tend to distract you and that you tend to procrastinate in. For example: if you check you phone a lot, turn it off and put it outside the room.

I remember as a kid I would have such good focus, there were so little distractions in my mind. It is like with eating healthy, if you make the decision in the shop and get no unhealthy foods into the house, you will not be able to eat them. If your room or mind is clean then you will not be able to get sucked into the distractions.

Some of the things I did initially to stop procrastinating and the reasons why. I always left my house and went somewhere else in a public setting; brought headphones or earplugs (which is what I prefer still); grabbed a coffee/tea, put my phone away from my sight (out of sight out of mind really does work), then turned everything off on my laptop that is not work/school related. The headphones/ear plugs cause you to lose one of your senses (if you use earplugs) so it boosts the others causing you to zone into the work you’re looking at. The caffeine in the tea or coffee gives you a dopamine boost so you have a positive outlook towards the work (at least the idea of this works for me). Taking away distraction, including the distraction your own home creates like snacking, tv's, books, literally anything you have at your home is immediately accessible so it's a distraction. A public setting takes away easily distractible things because anything you do or want to do in public, more than likely, costs money. It also makes you feel aware that you have people around you. You brought your laptop or school book to do work, they know that and you know that, so you’re not going to pull up youtube or netflix because that just shows them that your not doing what you should be doing. It's actually a good form of silent peer pressure, even though we all know nobody will bring up that you’re watching youtube instead of doing work, nor do they really care, but it's the thought that you’re not doing what you should be doing in public that causes you to do the work. Next thing you know you come out of the bubble you made 6+ hours later and you got a lot done. I still do this occasionally if I notice I'm procrastinating again.

You can't change your life, unless you change your habits. And if you've got that habit of procrastinating things then trust me you yourself makin' the hell out of your life but no one else. I had this habit of procrastinating it got me during 2011 and I finally realized and able to turn myself up by quitting this habit in August, 2019. You must have to build a strong willpower within yourself and keep igniting that flame inside yours then only you can give a shape to your life. And always remember if you procrastinate things once it becomes a habit, don't let it happen to you like this is really a great mistake which I did but unfortunately with that self confidence and thought of transforming my life I could able to give up that habit. Look yourself in the mirror, it's you only the person who you always wanted to be, just strive hard to put yourself up to the position. God bless y'all ✨🙏

I feel you. I guess what you actually need to do in order to accomplish that is to put away your phone and any disruptive stuff as far as possible from you. Make sure you don't plug in your internet to your computer and only use it when necessary. Tell me if you found another tips

I don't know if this helps anyone but it helped motivate me study when instead of saying "I should be doing this" as a command, I started to think "why should I be doing this?" So it brings be back to the reality of why I wanted to finish in the first place. Could also be something like "Would I be happy if I did this now or later?"

I'm preparing myself to write a entrance exam for med school next year. And I procrastinate a lot. But at the same time I have very strong goal to do that. It sounds contradicting. But I end up procrastinating when the moment comes. I'll try to develop resistance. Because nothing is more important to me than my dream. And seeing your channel is very motivating for me. I think it's not about increasing one's resistance but to prevent procrastination since you're looking for a way / solution to avoid all of those different kinds of distractors. At least I think so.

on top of that, you cant just get rid of one habit and form a new one instantly. so instead of get rid of phone completely, try starting slowly, maybe put it a bit further than usual, and progress a little by little. there are many ways/details of archiving something. learning habit is another thing as well.

what could they be enjoying? some trend? that will be gone in a few days, maybe 2 weeks? Is that what you think your missing? Or is it your friends talking about something? It doesnt matter. You wont remember it in 20 days. Do you remember what you had 'missed' the last time you felt like that. No. You forgot it. It really doesnt matter. What matters however is your hardwork. You WILL remember that. I promise you. Work NOW. Miss stuff that probably doesnt matter NOW. Feel good later. Enjoy later. You will not remember what you were missing in 1 week.

@@user-kruti0575 There's also a chrome extension called "unhook - Remove RU-vid recommended videos" where you can set what you want to have shown on youtube and what you want to have hidden, such as side pannel recommendations or home page feed!

No, because the question is more complex than that. For instance, one may argue that watching RU-vid could make you reach your goals by exposing you to ideas or people who will lead you to those goals. One may also argue that becoming intimately familiar with the RU-vid platform is advantageous with regards to becoming successful, and that rejecting all modern media for the sake of studying traditionally is a step in the wrong direction even professionally in many cases. But of course, all the above are pragmatic approaches to the problem of how to reach one's goals. In reality, the cynic take is that you won't ever actually reach your goals, but only drift closer and closer to them. And the pace at which you drift is inversely proportional to the number of goals you have in the first place. So ideally, you should never have a plural quantity of goals, if you ever wish to touch them in your lifetime.

@@___xyz___ I would say make a couple of specific goals and work towards them through milestones or achievements. Just having one goal and not specifying can cause more confusion/procrastination, such as, "I want to be a famous artist." There are so many different ways to be famous, _and_ several types of artists.
