To the range! I've been playing now for 2 months and have been topping my irons so much. These drills have finally helped me break 100! Thanks so much!
Hey everyone, big thanks for watching and supporting the channel, it really means a lot 😊 Looking to film some more coaching videos soon, let me know what topic you'd like me to cover 👇
Top Tip For Tops. Unfortunately I am all too famiar with that blasted mistake. And I'm sure this will really help me to get rid of it once and for all. Thank you Pete from the bottom of my heart😉
Going out on the course tomorrow (Friday) so this should be a good way to see the ball go forward in the air instead of along the ground with a weird round divot looking thing after where I struck the ball 🤣 Or worse on a wet soft course.. just plugging the ball into ground hahaha. Thanks Peter!
“Top Tip For Tops” I just started last year playing golf and these tips help me a lot in NOT topping my shots. Went to the range and used your tips and so far I'm loving it. Thank you!
Top Tips For Tops . I think that you are an amazing teacher. I have only been playing for just over 12 months, and I have learnt more from you than anyone else, including 5 lessons I took with a ga pro . Thank you .
“Top tips for tops” I desperately needed this as a junior I use a fairway almost every shot into par 4s and 5s and I even have tried to teach my dad as well would love to surprise my dad with a new driver he really!! Needs it🍀
Just went and played a few holes with my instructor. Granted I am a beginner. My instructor said, after I topped the ball, "Oh, you hit a flipperooski!". Wasn't sure what he meant but he explained and showed it to me. Funny you said it. He must watch your videos too. LOL. Thanks for the tips and will use them to practice.
Good video - I think the top tip I'll be taking for my tops is the last part about the driver. I worked hard on getting my iron swing working and when it clicked my hybrids and woods stopped working for me. Driver went from around 240m to being shorter than my 5 iron. I'm going to try my iron swing on my driver and see how it goes. Thanks Pete!
“Top Tip for Tops” I think this is really going to help me out, I'm definitely caught in that mistake of trying to "help" the ball up with my irons off the ground. It's a mental thing, I think to myself "gee I have trouble getting the ball in the air".......and then boom I'm doing exactly what you explained and I'm topping it. This approach helps me crush tee shots with my driver, but pretty much everything else is catastrophic haha. Cheers Pete, thanks for the great videos!
Top Tip For My Tops - I do too the ball too often and because of your previous videos and this I have been working on my swing arc and it has been making a difference. Some times I do have the lazy or angry swing but when you just hit that ball after practising and not letting the brain get in the way it’s happened a lot less. Cheers Pete
I love the Top Tip For Tops. I have an issue trying to lift the ball into the air with my fairway woods especially. I need to stop swaying back as you show here. Thanks Pete!
I have had loads of issues with topping the ball over the past couple months, recently have been figuring it out. Thinking about leaning forward has really been a top top for tops.
Never had much issue with topping the ball, but these drills I find help with every part of your golf game and are good to improve the swing top tips for tops
“Top Tips For Tops” These key tips was really helpful for me especially when you said that I do not have to lean back and keep my sternum straight through impact. It definitely helped me gain more yards thanks for the tips Pete!!
Top tip for tops I feel like this is something I completely irradicate from my game, don't see any for ages maybe the odd one, then boom I'm in all sorts of trouble with them out of nowhere. Nice little refresher, Great tips as always Pete!
Top tip for tops I’ve always had this issue but I’ve watched plenty of videos to correct it but your video has seem the most effective to correcting it
Top Tip for Tops… Don’t usually top it but found I have done it a few times in last couple of rounds. Good video to check where to look in my swing to see what has changed. Thanks
Top tip for tops My biggest swing fault has been too much arm movement not enough shoulders, caused a very step swing meaning not only bottoming out before the ball but taking quite a bit if a divot before the ball too, now I’m working on really using the shoulders I’ve lost quite a bit of distance but I am duffing less shots.
Top tip for tops has really helped me out. I always felt like my drive let me down when teeing the first hole and just scuttling off the tee box with the first swing. Thanks Finch
Love this "Top Tip for Top" it's something I've been working on, shame the weather in Manchester ruined any chance of a lesson this week but go to the range today.
“Top tip for tops”thanks for the video this will help me out alot. I just started golf up after a 30 year break. Happy I bought the golf net so I can practice these drills in the back yard
I finally "fixed* my tipping issue by focusing on keeping my right elbow bent as long as possible for dinner reason that's working great for me TO THE RANGE!
Thanks kindly Peter for the Top Tips for my Tops. I do find myself getting ground ballish particularly in moments of desperation when I am trying to get the ball skyward, just to make me feel like I am doing what I am supposed to do. I will have to check in on whether it's flippy wrists, leaning back or crumpled arms, but I suspect the arms may be the issue.
Top Tips for Tops is great to help with my iron striking. I need to work on compressing better and I know I get flippy wrists sometimes. I can tell when I do the weight shift forward right as the strike feels really good vs flipping and lifting that shoulder up causing my to lean back.
Top tip for tops - love the drills, hear a lot of comments around making sure you practice with a purpose, but having little drills like the half swing always make it easier to do this!
Have developed an annoying tip recently and need to video the swing to check why, but suspecting a slight lean back with a slight chicken wing. Will definitely try these drills, very useful. Will report back !
Top Tip For Tops Great tips, proper striking angle has long been a struggle for me as a 6'5" golfer. Sweep the ball way too much. My best golf cones when I'm able to hit down on the ball.
“Top Tip for Tops” are some tip top tips ! I feel like I'm a flicker and I'm not really able to tell it. I need to video my swing and that is my next step. As far as a new coaching video, some couching on different lies and how to approach them such as uphill, downhill and general uneven lies.
I like these tips. I've been using a version of them to work on my wrist flipping issue at impact that was causing thin shots and tops with the longer clubs. Another Top Tip For Tops that I've recently been using with the forward weight shift is clearing the front hip early in the swing transition and having the back elbow BENT and near my body at my beltine at club parallel and at impact straightening only after impact. If you flip like I do chances are your hips are too square at impact and your right arm is disconnected, away from your body on the down swing and straightening too soon.
Love the video top tip for tops. I struggle with this and one thing I have done is during my set up I put my weight forward initially. I feel like this helps my mind remember hey you don’t need to lean back.
Top Tip For Tops I top a lot and need to practice this too. At first I wanted to hit the ball clean without a divot since I didn't want to damage the course but it seems like it's a must to get a good strike.
Top tip for tops Personally, I had to focus on my Posture. Bend from hips, with a neutral spine. Helped me a lot. Also very informative video! Look forward to my next round.
“Top Tip for Tops” Great video Pete! I love these types also your putting drills video helped me a lot! I’ve found to force myself to stay down to avoid the top is to look over my left shoulder during the backswing. I’ve found it forces me to “stay down” throughout the swing.
“Top tip for tops” great video as always! Just something I need to work on at the range - only picked up golf around 6 months ago so need to work on these
“Top Tip for Tops” It was amazing what moving the ball back in my stance did for my 3 wood game. Went from a club I never touched to a club I tee off with the majority of the time.
“Top tip for tops” My miss is definitely more of a chunk than a top, but I’m loving this more traditional coaching content from you! Plenty of the newer folks probably don’t even know of your coaching past
Top Tips For Tops. I really need to dial in on this as I really seem to struggle off the ground. I feel that I’m not straightening my right arm enough into impact.
Top Tip for Tops My 3 wood loves to top the ball.. it's something I've struggled with since I started playing golf four years ago and still struggle with now
"Top Tips For Tops" After watching the video I went straight to the range to practice helps so much. Thanks! Can you give us some updated tips on shot shaping? I know you have a video about it in the past maybe an update?
I decided late in summer to use my 3 wood at range every time. I usually kept it parked because of topping. I like the idea of tee peg. I have heard of this many times but never used it. I think I will start using it. I think subconsciously I do try and hit it like a driver which destroys my shot . Top tip for tops is the tee peg.
"Top Tip For Tops" I found this helpful. It only really happens when I really go after a fairway wood on a second shot on a par 5. Good to put it into perspective!
Top Tip For Tops: I think these are great even if you’re like me and don’t top the ball a lot but just introduce unnecessary movement in the swing. Great stuff! Thanks!
My issue is one day I can be topping it and then I won’t do it for 5 rounds but I can’t seem to get out of it on that specific day. Always helpful to have Top Tips for Tops!
Top Tip For Tops Definitely struggle with topping my 3 wood sometimes. I think I’m guilty of the first issue you mention, trying to help the ball into the air. Something to work on!
