My sister has zero tolerance. One night her dog became very aggressive towards her. She called Animal control and had him put down immediately. She says that she cares for him, feeds him and takes him for his medical checkups. And if he decides to get aggressive she is putting him down immediately. One day she was walking her new rescue dog and he out of the blue went ballistic. She had a Police officer shoot her dog. Then when she got her last dog I immediately took him away from her and brought him to my farm. That was several years ago. He was as calm as a Cucumber with me. Very obedient. He finally died of old age on my bed. He just got into my bed and nuzzled his nose under my arm, I petted him and I thought he was just going to sleep but he took a deep breath, released it and then he was gone. I buried him on my farm under an Avocado Tree.

Another great video! We've got a six month old American Bully and he is doing great with obedience and house manners, yet with play such as tug of war, he is being increasingly exuberant with growling and such. He will immediately drop the toy when told "drop it" and back up and sit waiting, but wondering if it's a bad idea to almost encourage the growling and dominance attempts. I haven't let him "win", but he's growing strong fast. Thank you sharing your knowledge!

I got the prong collar brand you said was best, and WOW like a miracle! Loki is not running and jumping anymore. He's gets overly excited when he sees people and he started jumping up on people to kiss their faces, when he was turning 5 months. Now he's just 6 months. Loki is doing great with obedience and listening, he's really getting there, but.. Seeing people outside, especially kids, he goes into hyper drive!! He's incredibly strong, last week, he dragged me across a huge parking lot on my feet, over the ice, as if i were ice skating. I was using the gentle collar, the one that is cloth, and only tightens slightly with a pull, but for Loki, the correction in that collar was just oblivious to him, he didn't recognize or feel it. I got the pinch collar and he is a different dog!! Walking next to me, not running, no jumping, no running at the people OUTSIDE!! Some of the dog people love to see him, pet him, and then theres others who are not interested in a giant dog running up to them, which i totally understand, I'm not one to get offended by that! Some ppl do... I want my dog to behave, no running up to people, and absolutely no jumping I'll be honest, with the muscles and thick skin on lokis neck, he's not getting hurt, no hurting at all, he acts like he doesn't notice it. However when he goes to run up to strangers, I'll tug it with a correction, and he stopped! This is nothing short of a miracle! I'm so happy now! The pinch collar brand and disgusting the collar preempted me to try, thank you!! I cant begin to tell you how much loki is succeeding now! 👍♥️

our dogs has resource guarding aggression, not against all dogs and not with all resources and without body language, suddenly attacks other dogs in what appear to be random situations. Apart from that goes away form agressive dogs or situations, and is very passive in 99% of situations.

As i currently own an "aggressive" dog, the key thing to remember (particularly with corso) is these aren't 7 pound carry dogs. Understand what your dog is, when it acts up, HOW it acts up then look at what you can do to remedy the situation. If the dog needs to wear a muzzle, so be it. Make it a part of the dogs kit.... collar, harness, lead then muzzle. Don't punish the dog for aggression, try to distract it with something, a toy, food, anything to take the dogs mind from the aggression state of mind, even if for a minute.

I dont think corsos I know many of them, aggressive? that's a misconception unfortunately people who buy these want an extra layer of protection therefore projecting fear and lack of leadership onto it. Sadly it has no choice other than to take control and try and survive. Very sad

I would be interested to take your course because our 1.5y intact male aussiedoodle has started to become really reactive to other dogs (when on leash). He barks, growls and lunges. He knows it is wrong as He gets corrected every time for this behaviour (and rewarded when He Stays calm...the few times) but once He is in this state NOTHING works. No hard pops, no pulling up, no turning around. We use flat collar and slip lead and He rather chokes himself until he coughs and then continues. I have seen Great results with the pronge in your videos but pronge collars are BANNED where we live (Austria). So does your system also works without a pronge as we really tried everything...

Hi Will, my dog his name is Roscoe he is an American Staffordshire Terrior, he is my first Staffordshire and myfirst male dog I raised boxers and they are very seriously different dogs, I got Roscoe at 8 weeks this summer my mom was dying and I had been wanting a puppy anyway and felt that a puppy would be helpful in healing with the situation with my mom, so I go to a shelter and I see Roscoe and right away I want him, and he was just a dollbaby, he was so sweet but very spunky even at 8 weeks his sisters and brotherswere the same. I met with all of them before I picked Roscoe. anyway of course he's puppy , my moms dying and es getting spoiled spoiled, everyone thinks he's cute he's getting aay with chewing up shoes, chewing up everything and Im like he's just a baby. he poty trained within 3 days so that was never a problem, hejust had instinct and knew. anyway Roscoe is now almost 7 moths and his behavior is insane. I feel like he knows I'm a woman and feels like he doesn't have to respect me , listen to me or d anything i tell him, with my husband he's very much into him but there's cerai things he knows he doesn't do with my husband, my husband is way more strict thanme and he seems toreall gotohim more than me. now i watch videos and try to change his behavior but like I said he feels he doesnthave to listen to me. e growls at me when I tell him no about something, he brks at me when I piss him off and sometimes hell come jump o me if I make him mad and he clearly does get pissed at me. he does things like will purposely grab things he knows he shouldn't have and prences right in front of me that h has them and will sit right in front of me and start to chew these things up and then acts shocked when he gets in trouble. its crazy he's not necessarily aggressive he's just an assholeto me really

please know when Roscoe first attacked me once everyone calmed down, I let him out of his kennel , and he was my dog again and so I told my hisband that he had a r reason because I took his bone, I should have known better, my fault. then he was good all that time, now kepin mind imscared to death of him at this point but Im trying to make everything seem as normal as possible. soI went to work and came home ad Roscoe was in his kennel, and I asked my husband what happened and he showed me where Roscoe tore his arm up, he said Roscoe was layingon the bed he sat next to hm ot ready to pet him and he started snarling and thenext thing he knew Roscoe was on him. and that broke my heart and i knew then he had to go, so later on that nite, im like he needs to go to the bathroom, we need to take him outside, my husband took him out and Roscoe went at him, at this point he doesnt eve look like my dog and. het a hold of my husband, we finally smashed a vase over his head to make him stop and he did, and so the next day I surrendered him to the animal sheltet i got him fron and the deal was they would evaluate him and see maybe he just needs other parents and theyw ere onna observe him for 10 days on the 8th day they called and said they decided to put him down ad roscoe was only 19 months old, my heart was and sstill is broken

Technicality police: 12:45 "We're working 99% still in positive reinforcement. We're reinforcing when they're behaving well, and then if they make a decision to ignore that, and to go and lunge or to bark or to growl they get a quick pop which means 'no, stop doing that.' That's where we're talking about adding in a NEGATIVE punishment..." No, that's POSITIVE punishment. You literally said you were 'adding' something. By giving the dog something they dislike, you are using positive punishment. I'm not judging; you seem to have your head on straight, but your terms are on backwards.

please know I would never ever put hm down or surrender him to a shelter its not about that, he needs to know that I am his leader and he will not show those behaviours and when I say no, its no now a lot is my fault because I am not consistent and Ive noticed in myself if its okay yesterdayand then suddenly its not okay today behaviour. yes unfortunately I do do that and I know its a behavior I need to change. at te same time I afariad he's gonabite someone one day and everyone already thins he's a pit bull and I try to explain he's a Staffordshire terrier and t some peoplethy say that means he's a pit. I couldn't see him btitg someone because all n all he just wants to play but he just does not want to listen and he's a very smart dog and nows exactly what he's doing. I feel like sometime we don't I've dogs he credit they deserve because they do remember and they do know when and what they are doing wrong and I feel like they make a conscious choice just like kid should i or shouldn't I, and if they feel the consequence isn't that big of deal well then why not

So my dog listens go me 95% of the time when it's just us, but when I take her , ,like to Rural King, where she can go in with me, she gets so excited! And wants to run to everyone and lick them. And if she doesn't want to go a certain way, she will just lay down and look at me. I let her lay there a few seconds, then say come on girl, and she'll get up and come. Then she'll do it again .

Hi there sorry to bother you I've got a question for you regarding an 8 week old cane corso puppy that I've just got my girlfriend is worried because he seems to be really aggressive like he'll randomly growl at us and bite us aggressively without warning obviously we're giving him time and training and I want to make it clear that there is absolutely no way we are going to give up on him he's already part of the family but can I ask is this behaviour normal as a puppy for this breed? When he does it we've told him no very sternly then gave him a Chew toy and turned out attention off of him. just seems to keep happening went for my little boys face earlier. Sorry for the long message just wanted to know of this was normal and its something he will grow out of thank you.

That’s a real problem you need to get this problem fixed. Create structure with your puppy. He needs to view you as his leader like Will stated it’s very black and white with the dog. Crate train, don’t let him on furniture, no table food. This dog doesn’t need your love he needs your leadership. Give overwhelming praise when he gives desired behavior, correct by scruff of neck when he doesn’t.

Is there a reason that you use the Boerboel puppy as your picture? It feels like you’re pretty biased against the breed and I wanted to know if there was a reason, especially since it seems like Lots of your viewers are interested in them, but you generally leave them off of any “best of” lists even though they are much healthier than other mastiff breeds and much calmer too. In the US they are used as therapy dogs and aren’t considered aggressive. Just wondering if there was a reason especially since you love the cane corso so much and they are a larger and more mature version of a cane.
