Battery maintenance for different models should be a key feature in the mobile app. Vast majority of consumers don't know this, and they aren't going to be able to follow this or any other plan without some guidance and reminders. Doubly so with mixed battery tech across different units and trying to keep it all straight.

This sounds like a creative way to not cover battery failure by blaming the customer for not following these rules. We have several Ecoflow units. We keep them at 100% and run them at least once a month. Makes no sense to buy these power stations and not use them.

Could you implement a firmware feature where I could select "storage" mode? The setup: 1. Plug EF into AC outlet 2. Plug small (switched on) lamp or appliance into EF output 3. Set EF to "Storage" from the app 4. Depending on EF battery percentage, >60% EF would switch to output power and discharge to 60% and power off (storage mode).

Thank you for the charging information. Last week, I purchased the Delta 2 Max and two Delta portable power stations. They are very well designed, and I am happy with the purchase. As a consumer, I would like to offer constructive feedback. Keeping the battery at 60 or 70 percent is not what I, as a consumer, want in a power station for an emergency. That is just over one-half percent of the battery capacity. I want a power station that I can keep at 100 percent and not worry about any detrimental effects to the battery. I can not predict when there will be a power failure. My neighborhood had a power failure a few months ago, and the weather was perfect. I am keeping my power stations at 90 percent, and I'm hoping this will not degrade the battery. Again, thank you for the informative video.

Just buy more than you need. Storing at half is very important for lithium ion longevity. I wouldn't keep mine charged up that high, especially because of how much it costs.

Hi there, if the power outage is not frequent and won't last long, there is no need to keep the battery at 100%. Keeping the unit fully charged for a long time or often will have a negative effect on the battery cell. If you just want to deal with a power cut some day in a month, it is recommended to keep the battery at 80% charged and do charging and discharging every 2 weeks.

A simple faraday cage can be made with chicken wire. Make a 6 sided box to fit your battery pack and be sure to electrically ground it with a metal tent pegs. There is nothing esoteric about this project. A clean grounded metal trash can will also work. Good luck.

I have 2 Delta max 2000 that I use for back up power as we experience frequent outages. Mainly use them on a 26cuft. fridge. When I travel out of town I use them as a UPS. One unit will run my fridge for about 15 to 18 hours. I would like to double the capacity by using the other unit. Is it safe to connect one unit to the wall a/c outlet while connecting it to the other unit that the fridge is connected to? Since they have pass through charging this should keep both units fully charged since the fridge only draws around 120 to 140V when the compressor runs. I'm knew to this solar banks and am learning the technology.

Thanks for the discharging information. So one of mine is on my back porch, so i have power for lights out there, and its not heated, so i quess i should not have it out there. Wow, i really didn't want to keep these in my house. I quess i did not research enough before i bought them. The delta 2 with solar panels, purchased off QVC, just 3 or 4 months ago for 1100.00. dont but very charge after 4 hrs in the sun, i mean like 20 % and even at fully charge by an outlet. my 1500 watt heater was not working and the delt had no power left , i was trying to heat my shed. Im really sorry. I feel like it is a waste of money and i should have bought something else. So it seems to me these work great for camping ,or something in the summer, but if your power goes out and your house is cold , and this is cold , you are out of luck . Wow, thats what i thought they were for, didn't understand that is has to be warm weather to use them. Sorry, i just really disappoint after trying to use the deta 2 with no good outcome and now this video. I wish i could return it. Besides im a 66 yr. Old woman, very busy, and this thing is very heavy, and only tried to use it 2 times and both have been failures.

I am also your age and purchased these for winter outages, but for heat, I bought a couple of Big Buddy propane heaters. I did not like the idea of a gas generator running all of the time (and having to store enough fuel at my house to get me through God knows how much time), so I went with the battery generator. I will use my ecoflow generators to power my refrigerator and lights/tv/ hot plate, etc. and keep a gas generator - running it only to power them (and they do charge up quickly).

I have a Carrier brand, energy, efficient, gas furnace with a variable speed ECM motor. 1.Can I use my EcoFlow Delta Pro power station and Smart Extra Battery to power the furnace during a blackout? 2.If so, is it necessary to keep the system away from the furnace when doing this? 3.If so, how far away do you recommend keeping the system from the furnace?

Hi could you please tell me the specs of your furnace such as its operation power and starting power, or you can send me a link of the product page. If it is within the rated power of Delta Pro, it is suggested to place Delta Pro in a ventilated and dry environment and keep a distance of more than 3 meters. More details can be found in our user manual. Hope this can help!

Hi, if you are using them during peak time, it is suggested to fully charge them. If you still have power left after using them at peak hours, you might consider charging them to 80%.

I recently purchased a pair of Delta 2 units. I've read/heard it is recommended to periodically discharge the power station to 0% and then recharge to 100% fully to calibrate, then discharge it to 80% for storage. However, I've seen Ecoflow videos (like this one) recommending bringing the units UP to 60% for storage. My question is does it matter if the unit is CHARGED UP to 60-80% or DISCHARGED from a higher level down to 60-80% ? Which is procedure is better for the battery? And, is 60% better for storage than 80% SOC?
@EcoFlowTech
@EcoFlowTech 6 месяцев назад
Hi there, if you do not have a high power demand during off-grid events, 60% is fine, otherwise 80% can also work. After you use the unit, recharge it up to 60% to 80% before storage is fine:)

Hi, every vid refers to "make sure you discharge to nn%"... I'm a new owner of the Delta 2 Max and haven't had to use it. Can you please answer this elementary question: How does one "discharge" the battery to whatever % ?? Is there a function on the unit or do I connect an appliance? I couldn't find anything in the manual and maybe it's there, but I haven't found it. No one ever demonstrates how to discharge your unit to the desired percentage for maintenance purpose. Any insight is appreciated.

What if it's connected as an off grid or hybrid how does it affect the battery cell? How do you use it?
@AaronBregg
@AaronBregg 8 месяцев назад
For those of us running it as a main source of power for some things, there isn't much we can do from the charging level POV. It is what it is BUT that still doesn't mean that we won't still get 3000-4000 cycles out of it before the 80% threshold. It just may be closer to the lower number rather than the higher amount. Does that help?

What is the difference between a LIPO battery and a LifePo4 battery in terms of danger?
@EcoFlowTech
@EcoFlowTech 7 месяцев назад
Hi there, to answer your question: 1. LIPO lithium polymer batteries are more dangerous because LIPO batteries are more prone to thermal runaway when they are punctured or suffer damage. 2. At the same voltage, the life cycle of LIPO batteries is far inferior to that of LifePo4 batteries. Also, LIPO batteries weaken faster under the same conditions of use, which is more likely to lead to instability and accidents.

Hi it is okay to store on its side for short period of time. However please note that there should be certain space on both sides of the vent, otherwise it is not conducive to heat dissipation.

They really need to figure this stuff out. People want something more plug and play. I mean don't get me wrong I get it but a normal person who knows nothing about this won't and views it as a hassle. They want to treat it like a ups, as they should. Plug it in and forget about it Some people run their gas generator on occasion and then turn off the fuel and let it run until it turns off. Some people don't run them at all and they still start up after sitting forever. Maybe there should be some kind of automatic charge limit or management in the software if it's not used for a certain amount of time.

I don’t think you get the point. They are not saying this is an absolute requirement. It’s just if you want to get the longest life possible from your unit. Feel free to just use it plug and play and not worry about any of this and it’s likely still going to work for many many years without issue as per the specs.
