I’m a new trucking student and you showed me more than what I’m being taught in school. I really am very appreciative of this lesson and the way you teach, thank you and God Bless You!!
Lmao I just commented and said that same damn thing !!! Damn shame im paying this all money at school for no good cdl school instructors. Prolly only 2 good ones thats it in the damn school pitiful 🫤
When I say I am struggling, I am STRUGGLING with the skills part of getting my class a ! My test is may 5th & I am going to try and practice this way ! Thank you !!!
You got this…remember to always turn to the problem and watch your trailer tires…go slow so it’s easier to correct any mistakes…good luck to you!!!!! And hit me up if you have any questions or need help 💪🏾💯
I attempted to straight line back at school today but realized I CAN NOT DO IT!!! I am a pro backing in a car. Thanks for making videos like this. I feel encouraged
I've been struggling the last 2 times at driving school with backing up now I think I see my problem is I'm trying to go to fast. It's 2am and I can't sleep I have a class at 9am I know this will help me God dosn't do it for us he leeds us to the ones who can teach us
Yes you definitely want to take your time…that way it’s easier to correct your mistakes…take your time and your gonna pass 💪🏾💯 hit me up if you have any questions
I'm glad I found your channel! Finally, someone from my city! You made this so easy and understandable. Was having a hard time last night in school! Thank you.
Highly recommended for new truckers !!! Excellent video!! Straight line backing is the most basic maneuver. All other more complicated maneuvers involve or end up in a straight line backing. Excellent job.
Hello bro, question for you, I just started cdl school, and now am practicing straight line back and offset back, and I am having a hard time trying to get my trailer straight as am backing. But watching this video, to my understanding, if am straight line backing, and my trailer drifts to the left, that means I turn the steering wheel a little to the left, just to get the trailer tires to the right? I could use some advice from you backing up straight line, offset, and 90. Thanks, and I hope to hear from you, and stay safe mi broda
Yes exactly…remember on the straight line backing to always turn to the problem…just watch your trailer tires and if you stay to your left side then you will have plenty of space on your right side
Im struggling with this too, really bad. My instructor was pissed off with me my first day behind the wheel. I was questioning if i should be driving my 1st day. I wanna career so bad over a job.
We’re in the same boat, the instructors at my school are horrible too. Just keep watching these videos, learn the concepts and practice them on your own at school, that’s what I’m having to do. It’s not okay that these schools can take our money but can’t be bothered to really teach us. I failed my offset last month and going to practice at school as much as I can before I schedule my next test. I’m feeling just like you and I get really frustrated at school trying to learn but im determined to be able to back up like a pro. Good luck 👍 I’ll try to remember to update if I pass my test next time. WE CAN DO THIS!!❤❤❤❤❤😊👍✌️😊
When backing straight can you just look at the driver mirror only? You make it easier with looking at that one mirror. My instructor said you have keep switching left and right mirrors, but that does throw me off
I was taught to not look at the right side…my instructor said if your close to the cones on the left side then you have plenty of space on the right and have no need to look at the right side mirror…but I would say do whatever your comfortable with…because when it’s time to take that test, it’s only gonna be you in the truck by yourself
Bro i tried straight backing at 2 different schools for 40 days i cant straight back at all. I dont get the basics of it all . Some people say watch both mirror turn towards problem others say just look at one mirror and turn left to hide tire turn right to view tire. What to do. I cant straight back
Man. I get it some times and I lose it others. I couldn’t understand why I keep losing it. But now I thin it’s because I don’t turn the opposite way after I’ve made my correction. Imma try this after lunch.
@@thelifeofmerckid it took me a few days, but I got it. It was just slowing down knowing my reference points and anticipating where my trailer was going. I still sometimes need to pull up straighten out, but overall is going well. Thanks for the help.
Hey thank you for the information as always and I have a question I’m working on getting my CDL. What a good company I can get my CDL and get the experience with it . I’m from Maryland also district heights md
Everybody teaches a different way but I was taught to always turn the wheel to the problem…if that confuses you then just stop and think of which direction you want your trailer to go and then turn the wheel on the opposite direction…let me know if you need more help
We’ve practiced with tractor and trailer without a sleeper Berth. A week before my test we started using the sleeper berth and it’s been difficult adjusting. Having issues with offset and straight backing, any help is appreciated!!
Yes…once you put it in reverse then the truck will automatically start rolling back so you have to keep your foot on the brake so you can stop it from rolling fast
Man i am struggling with this. Im not sure if the insteuctors are even helping or just making my backing up worse. Catching the drift, head on a swivel, watching the mirrors. Good on paper but damn hard in practice.
Just try to find a way that works best for you…because when your taking the actual test…it’s only gonna be you in the truck by yourself and nobody there to help you
I’m in truck driving school right now for my class A and did this. Omg 😩 imma be stuck on this shit for a while. My 3rd day trying it. Shit is not easy.
Just take your time and go slow…and remember to always turn into the problem and then turn the wheel back the opposite way to get the truck back in front of the trailer…once your back in front of the trailer then straighten the wheel up and proceed to roll back…keep repeating those same steps over and over again…good luck to you!!!!!
@@dominqueferrari5196 yea. You will get it man. Just keep and 👁 on the rear of the trailer. Before you start backing up look at the wheel at the end of the trailer how they are positioned. Then when you start backing while keeping and 👁 on both mirrors while backing up if you start to see the tire disappear then start turning your steering wheel towards the problem. Meaning the direction the trailer is leaning out to until you see the trailer straight again how it was before you first started backing.
I wouldn’t add gas…the faster you move the quicker that trailer will swing and the less time you got to correct the trailer…slow and steady and you will be just fine
They telling us keep right hand at your 12 left arm on window look right to left i like if u see the problem turn toward it im going follow school way to pass after tha going find what comfortable for me beside tha nice job
I had the same problem when I first started out…I just learned to make little adjustments so that’s it’s easier to fix if I mess up…always take it slow too
