How to stream on Twitch in 2024 for total beginners! (PS4/PS5)

This video quality is CRUNCHY but I swear the info is good!
Too many of the explanations I saw out there were unnecessarily complicated, so here's the simplest info for beginners.
Some friends have asked me about this lately, so I thought I'd make a video to help newbie streamers get started streaming PS4 or PS5 games on Twitch!

If any of you use this info to start streaming, leave your Twitch username and and introduction of what games you play in the comments! I'll go first! I'm Klepto, and my username is kleptoyade over on Twitch! I've been streaming The Last of Us, Sengoku Basara 4 Sumeragi, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth! I'm a cosplayer too and sometimes I stream in cosplay. I often play games in Japanese and talk about them in mostly English, so I have a pretty niche audience, but if that's something you're interested in, come hang out!

You can stream off directly from the console Ps5 and ps4 I believe excluding the Xbox one also Xbox series x & s

You can stream directly, but it will only be the game screen, you won’t be able to show your webcam. You need OBS Studio and a setup like this to be able to show your camera/comments/etc!

@@kleptoyade yes you can with the ps5 camera or ps4 camera I’m not sure about Xbox hope that helps I know you can’t use overlay ps5 streams

Thank you for this, can I use my Sony plus 3d headset for my mic and headphones? I thought you can stream straight from the PlayStation without a capture card.

You can stream directly from the PS5 if you only want to show the game screen, but if you want to show your webcam so people can see your reactions, you'll need a capture card and OBS studio! I would think that headset would work, but I haven't tried it!

Thanks for the info. What if I wanted to also do webcam? for a PS5, do I need to specifically buy the PS webcam?

I don't know how it works with the PS5 webcam, but at that point I feel like it's probably cheaper and more versatile to use a capture card and just a normal webcam.

I'm just starting out and I had a question on this third party software. Can't yoy just use it to set up your twitch one time, then stream from PS5?

No, you’ll need to use it every time you stream! My computer is running and plugged into my PS5/webcam/etc the whole time I’m streaming; it’s like the hub that keeps everything connected!

i lov ed the video but was a little unclear about the webcam situation, am I supposed to plug it in somewhere or how does the webcam get the feed to the stream?

I often just use my computer webcam, in which case you just add it as a video source in OBS studio If you have an external webcam, you just plug it into your computer as usual and then add it as a video source in OBS

With this capture card, can the monitor or tv be in 120fps from the PS5? I want to be able to enjoy my tv while streaming that way, thanks!

I think it looks like the one I use can do 120fps on a 1080p screen, but please double check to be sure!

It won't help if I share the link I bought the capture card from because I'm in Japan and it won't ship to your region, but try searching for "ASUS TUF GAMING CAPTURE BOX CU4K30"!

Ahaha yeah, it still requires some things 😅But I promise that this tutorial is so much simpler with less equipment than most of the tutorials I watched when I was trying to figure it out! So many of those videos told all about the details of their fancy equipment and even more parts, and at that point I was still like "What even is a capture card and what does it connect to?!"

The title says that it’s easy, not that it’s cheap 😅 There are some really cheap options for capture cards out there though! I just use this one because I wanted the 4K passthrough, but I know there’s some very bargain options that people seem to have good results with!

Chick's are still streaming naked on Twitch to promote their OnlyFans account, tho. What does that have to do with whether Tink is black or white?
