I don’t know what to do anymore, someone used my info to register a company and I’ve been receiving mail at home for months I never really bothered to check until now, I don’t really understand the process all I know I don’t want to be prosecuted. Mam pls let me know that i have dissolved my company which was regiatered on my residential adress and same was business adress. I got first gazzet on 6 june 23. My company incorp date was 7 june 21. Now i got notice from hmrc to file corpration tax and confirmation statement. Dissoliving a company does have any impact on business or resdinetial adress

If you've just bought, and not sold any service/goods. Therefore, no profit. Does that count as trading?

No - you are simply holding inventory at that point. Until you are buying and selling goods with a view to making a profit/surplus and/or actively providing services which you receive an income from then you are not trading. There are of course other business activities which businesses may carry out what may make them active for corporation tax purposes and classify them as ‘trading’. Hope this helps.

Either you or your Accountant can write to HMRC informing them of the changes. Alternatively you can e-mail them as well. A written correspondence is always best in such instances. Hope this helps.

You don’t need to pay Corporation Tax or file another Company Tax Return once you’ve told HMRC your company is dormant unless you receive a further notice to deliver a Company Tax Return.

You still need to pay the penalty unless your accountant can make an appeal on your behalf within the relevant time period. To avoid penalty you should always file on time whether you intend to strike off or not. Hope this helps.

Mam , how long will it take to strike off a dormant company . Will it involve gazette notification . Even though the company has'nt been trading and been in dormant since years

Hello, companies house will usually put in the gazette shortly after you have made the application. If there are no opposition to your application to dissolve the company..then you will get a letter from companies house (usually between 7-10 working days) of confirmation that the company has now been closed

@@RajVamsi-qn4li if there were no outstanding debts or taxes owed etc, and I’m guessing you are the only shareholder in the company? Then yes, it will be in process already. If In doubt, send an email to companies house along with ur company number to check the status. The first gazette notice provides at least 3 months notice to any creditors / suppliers that your company may owe money to etc and notifies them of your intention to close the company. If no creditors or shareholders object at the first gazette notification, there will be a second gazette notification to advertise your company’s dissolution After that you should receive formal letter from companies house that the company is dissolved fully. Even if it so , it's compulsory that it must be shown in Gazette right . I want my financials to close soon and open a new company in other country . So I am in hurry . Let the process take time but I want my financials to be clear and to be able to acess that for start freshly in other country that's why worry mam .

Maybe try a different payment card. If that fails try and contact them directly and make a note of error received and details when you contact them
