I personally like to dip my old wraps and vanes in hot water. It allows me to peel them off without using a knife so I don’t risk damaging the carbon. Great video!

Use a potato peeler to strip your arrows. Give it a try you’ll see for yourself. Now you need to take vane off first like you seen the legend here doing. But that potato peeler wont scrape any carbon like a knife can. Then use a scotch bright pad then your favorite cleaner. You know you have it clean when the shaft squeaks when rubbing it with a paper towel with your favorite cleaner on. One other quick tip. after you put glue on the vane thats in the clamp. have a piece of paper laying there on the table. take the vane in the clamp with glue on and lightly press it on the paper. It presses all glue evenly on the vane and the paper pulls off any excess glue that you don’t realize you have. Makes a Very clean and precise no runs glue job.

Do you have a close up of the jig settings so I can match mine so that the same arrows can be created when refletching?

A potato peeler works well to remove fletching residue from a shaft and doesn't damage the shaft. Hope this helps someone.

Curious as to why you didn't clean the wraps off with the ase max wipes prior to applying the vanes.

I use the method by heating the blade, then I scrap to remove the plastic vanes, then apply a little acetone to remove the plastic vanes residue and glue residue on the shaft...

Use a potato peeler. Easy, no damage, no problem. Do not use a knife.

Great job JD. Just purchased a few Easton axis and just waiting on inserts to build them. I fletch arrows on the side for my cousin shop and I do that so I can tinker around with my set up and what works best, so I would like to say thank you for helping me become better at that job. Keep up the great work

Look into getting the Cali-Bitz decals for the Bitzenberger jig. Has all the degree marks. Lancaster Archery has them. 🦌👍🏹

I wonder if a vegetable peeler would work well for peeling the wrap off. What does “tip and tail” mean?
@nockonarchery
@nockonarchery 2 года назад
Tip and Tail means putting a dap of glue on the tip and tail of the vanes for one more security method. Thanks, Mike!

I use wraps now which are way easier. But potato peelers work awesome for cleaning up the shaft!

Try an old school potato peeler works great and won't cut the carbon. God bless and keep the videos coming!

Do you always use a wrap? Also what’s your thoughts about moving the vanes further up the shaft to avoid face contact?

This is the first time I have ever seen a wrap before the fletchings were applied. What is the exact reason for the wrap?
@hoganfan2006
@hoganfan2006 Год назад
@@stevealicea205 because it looks good. And maybe it’s faster for refletching.

I am trying to find a way to re-fletch my straight nocked Crossbow Arrows with my fletching jig. Do you know where i can get an adaptor that I can use with the jig?

I’m starting to have issues with even spacing when I 4 fletch with the bitzenburger. Any advice or something I need to check? I’m a little OCD when it comes to my arrows. Thank you for all you teach us diy’s.

Question about the arrow wraps. Never used them befor because i was wondering if it would affect my shot as the arrow goes over the prongs of my arrow rest. My rigs littlemold and i havnt upgraded to a drop away yet. Thanks

Alrighty, I need to know what black magic you used to get the wraps off of your fingers and onto the mat. Every time I peel my wraps, I have to play with them because a micro-meter of the sticky side gets stuck to me.

are wraps ok to use (and strip with a blade) on aluminium shafts?

When you use a knife to scrape the old vinyl off, I realize you aern’t putting much pressure. But are you shaving any amount at all of carbon off the arrow? Would it still weigh exactly the same afterwards
@nockonarchery

no you don't ever want that. you shouldn't damage the shaft at all

Hi, I watch alot of your RU-vid videos. I'm a left handed target shooter and have a left eye dominated eye. I was seeing most targets blurry.I have just been told my left has a cataract on it. So now I'm trying out being left handed and right eye dominated. Its very strange but I'm getting there. Do u know of any shooters that are the same on RU-vid so I can hopefully get some tips off them? Thank u for reading my message and I hope you are able to help me out. Cheers Donna from Queensland Australia. 👍🏻👍🏻
@MichaelMisbauer
@MichaelMisbauer 9 месяцев назад
Hello I had the same issue just on the right side except for the cataract but I keep both eyes open and I focus on my pins and its uncomfortable at first but you get used to it and now it's second nature and now instead of focusing on one target I can see the target and everything else around and it has helped me quite a bit

You don’t glue in your nocks?
@chadk3573
@chadk3573 2 года назад
I wouldn't. They split or break and glued in makes it hard to remove. If you get a lose one, put a plastic bag over the end of the arrow and just push the nock through it as you install it.
