@@harrisonshroyer6828 if I’m wiring nutting #10 or smaller, I’ll strip roughly 1.5” and twist with linemans then snip off the right length for wirenut and typically it’s the prettiest twists that are left also. #8 and up to 500 mcm I typically have to base it off of how much is needed for a Polaris tap or some enclosed termination point. Lmao love to see him do this when under 2” is needed for terminating. He’s still a bad ass at stripping fucking wire though!

I just put my foot on the end and razor peel the jacket. Peeling the whole thing is just ripping it off, then you go down to the scrap yard and collect bare bright money.

How do you sharpen that knife ?

How do you dull a knife? Your cutting plastic and nicking aluminum, if your knife gets too dull to do that, from doing just that, give mom her paring knife back and just buy a cheap knife from a truck stop. At least it won’t get dull from cutting plastic against aluminum.

Not completely relevant to the video, but I’ve got some big wire with 5 big wires inside. Was stripping it for scrap metal, but I was quickly covered with what appeared to be fiber glass - is that probably what that stuff is? It won’t get out of my clothes or hands even though I was wearing ppe. Any advice appreciated!
