How to stripe your lawn! Make your lawn look great, and keep it healthy with these simple steps.
We will show you how to mow stripes into your yard. During your next mow (week 1) pick a starting point and mow a line. Then come back right against that line, so you have alternating stripes right next to each other. Repeat this process over your entire lawn.
When you mow next (week 2) follow those same lines and they will look even bolder.
Then alternate your pattern (week 3), instead of going up and down. Go left to right and now you’re creating that checkerboard pattern look. I personally like to mow angles instead of the checkerboard look.
Then (week 4) follow the patterns of the previous week to bolden them even more.
Then start at week 1 and run the same process over and over. I like to mow more often than once a week as it keeps the lawn looking clean, I would recommend cutting twice a week when your schedule allows it.
Striping your lawn is all about bending the grass, and the changing how the sunlight hits it. You’ll even notice your stripes will look different from different angles, depending on the time of day and where the sun is in the sky.
