Engineering is arguably the most challenging field you can study. The reason is because you have a mixture of courses with quantitative and qualitative content. So for scoring good in your engineering exams, you need to follow clever tips just like highlighted by Tamer in this video. I’m planning to share my own set of tips for Engineering in my channel soon. Thanks for the tips and inspiration Tamer :) Superb video as always!
@@nasseryousif1222 that's literally more memorization than anything else, law definitely can't compete with majoring in physics, chemistry or engineering
Starting my undergrad classes in January 2022 and I’m so excited and nervous to start. I’ve been binge watching most of your videos and they’ve been helping me tremendously. I really appreciate you constantly uploading! 😁
@@darkrealms9838 It went really well I learned so much and It was difficult for me personally but I think because I have lingering debt that caused me to work more instead of studying more. So my plan this year is to pay off that lingering debt before I go back to school so I can focus more on my studies and not having to worry about working while studying.
The tip on not focusing on something for too long I think it what cost me some grades last semester. I could easily lose 2-3 hrs sometimes, I'll definitely give this a try next sem! thank you!
Thank you for this. I have this annoying habit of sitting with one difficult problem for a very long time instead of moving forward and solving the rest of the problems. The more time I sit in front of the problem, I'm making little to no progress and then eventually I lose interest in studying and then procrastination ensues.
These tips are literally gold! I have really weak points like spending too much time on what I don't understand/spending time on what I understand, not doing enough practice problems, wasting my time on useless lectures, and torture myself not to sleep thinking I am being hard-working which actually shows how poor my time-management is. I pinpointed my weaknesses now I need to work on them. One crucial question for you: how can I read texts with 100 pages for one week? I stay behind because my pace isn't proper. This is my BIGGEST problem. Any advice??
If you’re studying more than 8 hours, then you got no business telling people how to manage your time. you can do effective studying at the 2-4 hour mark you just gotta be focused. I don’t know how I ended up on this video but for context I have a Masters in Electrical engineeeing and bachelors is CS and only studied 3 hours a day, played sports, worked full time as a paramedic, served in the national guard as a combat medic, built my amazon fba on the side, and raised my son. I did 3 hours of efficient studying then used recall throughout the day to solidify the info. Studying 8 hours a day shows me you’re not that efficient I’m sorry, there are better ways to go about studying.
1. Load up on the energy drink of your choice. 2. Disregard all pleasures to life. 3. Only sleep when you pass out. 4. Cry when you wake up. 5. Rinse and repeat.
Math is all about learning the fundamentals well and practicing by doing different types of problems, which will ultimately develop your problem solving ability.
You should try managing your time a little better but dont worry it gets easier when u start getting used to it. It might just be overwhelming for you now but its known that first year is the hardest so stick with it, it gets easier when you learn to manage your time
@@muhammadissop7230 some courses I have to go to on-campus and some it’s online. I’m trying hard to focus on some of those 3-hour classes online but it's hard!
I was in the same boat as you and thought I was going to fail every course after the exams but ended up doing fine. It will be challenging at first and you might develop some imposter syndrome along the way but things will get better day by day and you'll be surprised at how fast you adapt. Depending on where you are going to school, the professors at my school curved the grades pretty damn hard. That's not an excuse to not study tho.
Hey, your videos are extremely helpful. I am 21 and I just started my Undergrad in Engineering. I always feel like i am too old to do this, so any tips on how to overcome this?
You are not too old at all. I had a classmate that started studying engineering when he was 27. So, ur not too old and 21 is pretty young cuz ur only a few years older than ur peers. Just realize it’s all in ur head and no one is actually judging u for being 21 cuz they’re all worried about themselves. Just study hard, make some friends and enjoy ur time :)
Damn, thanks for this video. Going into uni for the first time at 25 and I'm doing engineering! Honestly your tips will seriously change the game for me so I am very grateful for this. Subbed.
@@jamietaylor7973 surprisingly well! Honestly I found that as long as you do everything consistently and ahead of time uni is quite easy. Some of the courses I’ve had have been absolutely hell but even then, if you start your big projects a couple of months before the due date they’re not that bad. Also, definitely use the premium ChatGPT version, take it with a grain of salt of course but it does an amazing job at breaking concepts down and their latest model is shockingly good at phd level reasoning.
Where I study it’s normal to spend from 1 hour to a few days on a single problem. Our professor that if you have no ideas for three hours straight, think about it the next day. If you don’t have any ideas in three days, ask a friend or look it up.
Man us engineers really all think the same abt this stuff don’t we… I clicked this vid for some advice but I’ve already independently figured out that all that stuff has value 😂😂 esp the skipping class one
@@TamerShaheen Oh great! i was looking to buy one of them. So don't it get laggy when running many softwares? The reason is becoz, i want to use to for light video editing as well. Also to do all works done by engineering students. It would be great if u can explain it more clearly. 😊
Well no...if u like engineering, then u should still stick with it. It will just take u longer to understand certain math concepts, but that’s fine since after graduation, u don’t use math at all
@@TamerShaheen Also, if you can, please do a review of your laptop that you used during ur engineering studies? It would be greatly appreciated, and would be an awesome content for you too. 🙏❤️
Hey tamer!!! Did u take the UCEP program during grade 12 in high school? and should I take it to get a higher chance to get to Waterloo university or it doesn't matter?
This program provides students who have achieved high academic success to experience university life before leaving secondary school. In this program, students can earn a university credit, one or two Grade 12 secondary school credits (taught by secondary school teachers at the university), and two Co-op credits. I think it's a new thing added in high schools
