This is the part of the MCAT I keep putting off and avoiding. There's some sense of security in the sciences because its usually more clear cut. The CARS is scary because most of the questions are about what some authors opinion and what he would most likely believe about x or something. Ahhhh my brains! A passage a day is what I've been doing, like building my brain muscles.
Thank you for this video!! I tried your strategy and I improved on my CARS passages! I take my MCAT on August 9th, so hopefully it works out on the real test date
CARS is ALWAYS my lowest section on my practice exams and practice questions... and its not even close..... i pray that anything you said in this video helps me and anyone like me who can't read fast and can't find an ounce of motivation to read any of these horribly boring passages!
One aspect of questions i see is the answer choices will read Blah increases and food Blah decreases and food Blah no change without fod Only blah Which tempts you to read just the words "increase","decrease","no change" and "only" diagnally. What a sick trick.
I got a 499 on the AAMC practice exam and not having ever taken Orgo or Biochem... 4 days to study, lets hope CARS can give me the boost I need, it was my best subject by far.
If you find them helpful then yes, definitely! Khan academy definitely covers the right content, though in science sometimes they repurposed the old videos rather than making new ones specifically for the MCAT so they might have some extra information
Thank you for these wonderful videos😀 Did the Kaplan review material on pyschology and Khan academy videos suffice to do well in the behavioural section? Or should one read pyschology textbooks? Thanks
I thought about going through the textbook guide from AAMC but never had time! I'd say definitely at least read the Khan Academy document or watch the videos, then if you want to supplement that use either the textbooks or a review book
I was just doing some CARS practice on JW and my head felt like it was melting so I decided to take a break and go on YT. This was the last thing I was expecting on my feed haha
You cracked me up with your descriptions..also I always utilize highlighting if I am able to recognize the main idea of a paragraph- it often helps with certain questions
I'm not sure if you mentioned this in another video but what third party cars resources did you use and what order? Also, what types of questions would you ask yourself to better analyze and improve your strategy
For CARS I stuck to the AAMC question sets and practice tests and the khan academy practice passages. As far as what to focus on when improving your strategy, I would look at the questions you miss and try to figure out why you missed them and why you shouldn't have picked the answer you did. You might notice a pattern of not understanding the passage or getting tricked by one of the planted wrong answers. Then you can prevent yourself from making the same mistakes in the future
He is no brain surgeon. You need one to work on your cranium, hopefully to drain it of the shit god put it in there and then put some useful stuff.. This guy is practicing internal medicine..
