Hi guys 50% of the step 1 is Pathology, so if you read 2 or 3 time the Pathoma book you have a great chance to get a good score, for me is the most important subject.

You’re the son my parents always wanted😂 Nah but seriously, with all your hard work and dedication, I can guarantee you’re going to pass the USMLE exam! U got this my dude, literally can’t wait for u to become a doctor!👨🏽⚕️🥰😍
After I saw this video, I realized that you’re in a total different level as a medical student compared to me. I’m still at the end of my second year of 6 (here in Brazil, the course is 6 years long) but I realized I have to start working things out more seriously. Thank you for the video. Although I don’t have any thoughts on practicing medicine in the US currently, things might change in the future.
I’m a medical student from Korea and I also enjoy watching Sketchy Medical - I’m a visual learner too so I like to draw and organize things, and Sketchy Medical really helps when you have absolutely no idea of how to start organizing🙂 Thank you so much for such an informative video, I really appreciate it! Best of luck! 🙌🏻

Hey, I'm a first year med student and I'm planning on doing the USMLE too. Could you make a video about the whole process and application? There's so much information and I've gotten myself really confused. Thanks so much for all the help so far! I love your videos, they are really helped me through the ukcat!
Hi, I’m first year medical student from Malaysia and basically we don’t take USMLE exams. I’m not sure whether Anki is applicable for me, could I get an advice from you? Thanks!
Kharma Medic I heard that the USMLE has changed from a numerical score to pass/fail, is that going to affect you since it makes it harder for IMGs to compete, also when are you planning on doing step 2?
Please please do more videos about USMLE exams, doing US clerkships, getting recommendation letters, and getting into residency in the USA for imgs as there are so little resources and a lot of confusion in the air. If you are planning to do residency in the USA as an img student please document the entire process step by step, it would be very helpful to a lot of students, especially foreign ones like myself. Also, I really enjoy all your videos, thanks a lot.

I am a first year medical student. And this lockdown has confused me about how to continue studying. You should make a video for studying while in quarantine. Thanks
As a US MS4, this video is gold! Wish I had seen something like this before my dedicated period. I used all of these resources when I took this exam two years ago (though I did not have the full version of USMLERx b/c my medical school bough another QBank). Cram Fighter was a game changer and I definitely recommend it! *Us MS4s are thinking of all of you as you navigate studying for Step 1 during this crazy time. May you all get a test date at an open testing center in the near future!
I'm not even a med student, actually I'm a Law student, but I really enjoy your videos. Sure you'll be a great doctor. Congratulations and good luck on the tests!
I have a cousin who never studied much, we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than her studies after writing the STEP 1 last month she passed and i failed😢, i asked her how she did it, just found out she got help from Mr Richard
Can you keep us updated throughout your journey of studying for the USMLE? I think your videos are always great and you’re so good at motivating me! Would love to see a fellow IMG do well on their exam to give me some hope for when I take step 1 in a year or so ☺️❤️
Thank you thank you! I really needed this so much! I think spaced repetition and making flash cards and revising them is the most important thing to do!
Man you should do a "Study with me" session but with the "live" option on RU-vid ;) I would get up early to study ;) Maybe it will be even easier for you since you won't have all the 600GB of data to work with

Great video! Kaplan also has a free diagnostic exam that I used early in my prep to figure out my strengths and weaknesses. I also recommend the NBME practice tests and official practice 120 questions when you are close to the exam.

Thanks alot for explaining every minute details of the resources which should be used...rather I would say much needed video...thankzzz again....n yeah All the very best 4 your step1
Thank you so much for sharing your experience preparing for Step 1. The resources you have shared have been extremely helpful for me. Some additional ones that I used to supplement my studying include Osmosis and Amboss (additional questions and also an amazing knowledge bank to use as a step 1 encyclopedia). There's an Anki Deck called Lightyear that I believe match up with Boards and Beyond videos well (haven't used it personally but friends who watched Boards and Beyond strongly recommended it). Best of luck in your exam preparation, and hope this is somewhat helpful!!
Step 1 prep super easy that I wish I knew early on - DO QUESTIONS (Uworld, USMLE Rx, etc) and have a review source (boards and beyond, first aide, pathoma, sketchy, etc.) to help you brush up on any topics you feel you have a deficiency in while doing questions. Don’t listen to anyone that tells you that this is EXACTLY what you need to do and use. Use whatever resources you’re comfortable with. But the underlying principle will never change, questions should be the guiding force for your prep and you can work with that principle and build on it however you want because only you know how you learn best.

Hey, I have a couple of questions and hopefully youll answer them 🤞 1. When are you gonna take the exam? 2. How do you duel between school studies and the usmle studies? I mean, yeah your videos shows that you are using the app and scheduling everything but really, I find it difficult to even just listen to lectures and go through those before that exam (can you show a rough schedule of your studies in one of your future videos?) 3. Usually, I believe med school is more about ‘grinding’ before the exam like going through the key points just before the exam (or at least it’s like that for me) so how do you uhm know that you are actually making a progress or absorbing your materials for long term? thanks for the video btw. crucial for a fellow medstudent interested in usmle!
Thanks for all your content! Can you make a video in which you talk about how much does this journey cost ? All the upcoming exams (USMLE 1 and 2 and everything, from the very beginning, to landing on the land of dreams America) We really need it and everyone has a different answer for that. Some say you have to take it in America, others say you can take it somewhere else in Europe. I'm a Tunisian medical student in the second year right now. And I really need to know the exact amount of money I'm going to need so I can prepare myself to work, raise some donations,.. I can barely afford the money needed for resources xD so this is a very huge thing to me.
Just want to say a HUGE thank you for all your videos on the medical school entry process. Thank to all your videos on the UCAT and mmi process I was able to get into medical school. Thank you sooo much🙏🙏🙏🙏
OMG! These resources look highly productive and so cool. As medical students from China, we don’t have such amazing built-up systems as the tools for studying. Thanks a lot for sharing!
I would love to see a video collaboration of you and Ali Abdaal, considering that he is also studying for the USMLE. But of course any kind of content from you two would be great... 😄
Could you talk about the process of being a med student in U.K. and trying to become a doctor in Canada or America? Will it be different to international students who study in the U.K.?
Kharma Medic sorry so how does it all work? After you take this exam, what do you need to do further and is there anything that needs to be done before the USMLE?
@@seobeng4437 There are 3 steps for USMLE and once you pass step 1 (no matter what score you get) it sticks with you for 7-8 years. Being an International Medical Graduate (Non-Americans and Americans that study outside US) you have to pass Step 1 with a competitive score to be considered for an interview. Canadians would mostly do both USMLE and the Canadian exam just so that if Canadian match doesn't work out the states would be plan B or vice versa. Of course there's always staying in the EU for internship but being a non-EU/non-CAO you're naturally at the last of the priority rank as EU law requires them to give a job for EU citizens before opening it up for non-EU. With Brexit this is (hopefully) going to change so the chances of getting a job in the NHS might be higher but it depends on where do you want to be trained. The NHS provides 2 years of internship training and after that you can compete for specialty training but in the US it is 5-7 years of "internship" but you are already in a chosen specialty. What I have said is to my best knowledge so there might be something that isn't accurate/ detailed.
@@jamesh9124 Yes you definitely can if you are from UK and would like to be registered as a doctor at your home country first (as a fall back plan in case training in the states isn't what you expected half way in the program). As a non-UK/ EU student, you can too if you get matched into the NHS, but you still have to start from 1st year of internship/ residency when you get to the states. Generally you'd like to get step 1 out of the way as it is an exam of a huge ton of basic sciences that you could be having a hard time recapping when you start clinical medicine. There are the so-called optimal timing for an IMG to do USMLE and if you are interested you should talk to your school about it and find out what have the previous students done in order to maximise the chance of getting matched in the US.
I used sketchy micro and pathoma for my 2nd year mbbs exam and Iam IMG...... These resources are way better for entrance as well as for professional exams

Hi Nasir, thank you so much for a clear explanation about USMLE, and the resources. I just wonder how you’re balancing between studying for your Year 3 MBBS and USMLE preparation? Anyways, all the best and good luck!!! Thank you for always inspiring me to be productive!
Hey you guys, austrian IMG here. I just graduated and am currently waiting for my residency until Q1 23. until then i thought i might aswell torture myself and try to crack the USLME Step 1. Here's my Question: I dont like splitting the FA chapters into the different disciplines like embryology, anatmoy, physio, path, pharm - i go through a chapter in FA, watch B&B and sum it up with Anking and Rx Qs. Since i still struggle with my Schedule (3-4 Months dedicaded) i was wondering: Shall i do *micro* in one go (start with Staph Aureus and finish with Antimicrobials) and *pharmacology* as a whole in one go (start with basic Pharm, Autonomics and finish with respiratory Pharm) or with the different organ systems depicted in FA - OR would you recommend doing e.g. 10 Microbes and 10 Meds paralell to the daily pensum? I know this is personal preference but im very curious abour your experiences. Would help a lot! xx
Honestly ,i just started med school and ur videos r helping me so much , ur tips and I've been wanting and searching about the USMILE for a while now and this is the first time i might know where to start!!1

Hi Nasir! I remember reading somewhere that Step1 will become Pass/Fail.. Will Step1 still be important to study for after that? Since it no longer distinguishes the testtaker from the rest. I'm scared the US Residency directors wont even give us a chance anymore.
Thanks man ! I’m preparing now for it and just finished from RCSI so also finished the UK / Irish based system .. doing almost all the aforementioned except Anki 🥵
Hey Nasir! By any chance you know how to work as a Doctor in the UK coming from another country? Is there any exam like USMLE that I should be aware of? I'm hopefully about to start my med school but also want to keep doors open!
Fellow GKT medic 🙌 I just graduated from Kings and am revising for USMLE atm. Thanks for your video! One other resource that I’ve found useful is the Goljan audio files.. a series of audio lectures on the different systems for step 1 - they are quite amusing so result in good recall I’ve found. They have been circulated for free so you can find them online or I’ll send them to you if you’re interested. Great for USMLE revision on the go lol. Good luck for the exam! I’m sure you’ll smash it!
