OR HOW ABOUT people wear a leather jacket " how they want too" because well i can say with that haircut that you only "go after" other men... see how i just RANDOMLY said something.
My favourite thing about is autumn is I can wear my jacket. Investing does pay for, I’ve an All Saints leather jacket that is about 8 years old and it’s still good as new. I bought it for just over £300 (originally around £500) on sale so it works out roughly £40 a year. It’s warm, stylish and I still get compliments on it. Cost per wear “pays off” in leather jackets as you constantly wear them. Morbid: but it’s one of those things if you prematurely die, it’s the one item your family is going to fight over getting. It really becomes “part of you”. Each leather jacket fades a certain way, gets it’s own scuffs, so it becomes unique to you
Love this explanation I also own an All Saints leather jacket I purchased this year and it’s such a lovely jacket. Great point with the morbid tip as well, it’s true.
White stitches look cheap for me otherwise, thanks again for this reminder! Plus I’m that guys you just described.. 5’ 9” 175lbs and I’m loving my leather jacket collection. Hopefully you guys getting what you really want and suit your style 🎉 trust me.. it’s worth it 😍
Great video Antonio. I’ve had leather jackets from Korea, Spain, China and the USA. The European leather tends to be thinner and finer. Other than that if you take care of them with proper cleaning and conditioning they can last for years. Cheap leather is not worth the price so shop with quality in mind.
I would totally buy that jacket if I didn't recently buy a Matchless Model X jacket. Likely very similar in quality to that. That J.L. Rocha stuff looks legit.
Bought a really nice tan leather jacket in Morocco, I've only worn it a dozen times in 4 years cuz it's never cold enough. The downside to living in the desert.
I've started collecting and investing in leather products since last year. I started with a leather backpack, belts, shoes and more bags. I'm actually planning on having a tailor fit leather jacket or buying online. I have a lean and small body build so it's kinda hard finding a good match online and I live in a tropical country so I'm thinking of a thinner maybe napa leather or goat skin leather. I hope someone could recommend a nice store online with an asian sized jacket! 😊😁
It's hard wearing leather jackets when it's hot. I built up a small collection from eBay earlier this year (before spring) and have yet to have the opportunity to wear most my jackets.
I disagree that fit is emperor, fit mainly concerns how it looks on you which is superficial. A jacket is a practical item to keep you warm and protected, quality and durability is of most importance.
In Sweden, leather jackets have not been fashionable since the 80s, only those who ride motorcycles wear leather jackets because they don't drive anything else.
After watching the cape video and this one, I believe I’ve found a winning formula! Jokes aside, using a good leather conditioner to maintain the jacket, especially ones with good essential oils in the ingredients can also make you smell shmexy in style
Hi, Pick any Styles of leather jacket you like either it's a bomber, biker, casual , blazer or whatever but pick the one using polyester satin for the lining and make sure that the lining has no filler. It is suitable for tropical countries.
to start not your jacket, too heavy layered patches, seams not thinned or hammered much or sleeves and heads not gathered and shaped, stitching lengths shorter and longer not cosistent boring new style lazy little work obviously overpriced, you know them? dont buy hes being paid to sell crap, he knows nothing
I think leather jackets are the most overrated and outdated accessory that you guys keep pressing us on, I’m not an Eastern European or a biker, stop it.
I understand the company is sponsoring you and you have to promote their jackets. But that one you are wearing looks really really bad. Bad shape, bad irregular stitching, weird pattern, leather looks very cheap. For that money you can get something much much better
I finally purchased a leather jacket after trying on different leather jackets for years prior to purchase. I tried on hundreds of jackets before I pulled the trigger on the perfect jacket for my body type and personality. It was expensive but it was worth the cost.
Oh my… The white contrast stitching on that jacket is truly unattractive. I prefer how Vanson did that jacket design on their “Chopper” model. The upper echelon of leather jacket manufacturers to me are still Schott NYC and Vanson in America, Lewis Leathers and Aero in the UK/Scotland, and the many Japanese leather purveyors like Fine Creek, Y2, Double Helix and so many more. All of whom seem to create products with amazing patterns and designs resulting in beautifully fitting jackets. Outside those examples, Master Supply Co. is offering great heritage inspired pieces designed in their Canadian studio but manufactured in Pakistan. Their hide selection and quality has been surprisingly great coming from the Pakistani production facility. That being said, I prefer a very slim, close to body fit using leather from high quality tanneries in the USA & Japan. I’m a Schott Perfecto and Vanson loyalist but will be adding Japanese and UK jackets to my collection this year.
Perfectly timed video. I ordered a goat skin suede leather jacket online, it arrived yesterday, and it fit beautifully. Took my lady out on a date and she was almost as obsessed with it as I was. Couldn't agree more about investing in a quality jacket. The brand I got is Iron and Resin and my favorit,e part about them is they have the lifetime repair policy. I'm done with fast fashion. Invest in quality, brands that stand behind their product, brands who will repair their pieces so they don't end up in the trash.
sorry but I cant take advice on leather jackets from someone who is wearing the seat covers from a Mini Clubman. ill stick with Belstaff & Matchless for mine.
I am glad, that autumn is here and I can wear my old, brown leather jacket again, I like the leather smell and the 70s look of it, looks great when worn with a turtleneck sweater or a shirt (not so great with a t-shirt though) style is one thing, functionality another: for me it is important, that the jacket has at least one inside pocket, mine has one on each side and even another small one for a zippo or such
With the new choices in going: slim, athletic, etc. You should get rid of the one you got and get an athletic fit. That jacket looks too boxy on you. Or get it tailored. Just my 2ct. Good jacket though.
I think i'm really bad when it comes to know clothes that fits me, that made me have a look. However, wearing a leather jacket and a white Tee underneath, i must admit, ilike myself wearing it.
I‘m a collector of Belstaff and Matchless leather jackets. For me, it is so much more pleasant than collecting watches. Your jackets and your watches will both tell your personal life story if time gets by, but unlike your watch, the jacket looks BETTER therefore. The leather jacket is still an underrated collectors item in my opinion. I think, if there would be some influencers promoting luxury leather jackets, like those hundrets of influencers that promote the luxury watch market, some jackets of certain labels would skyrocket in market value.
I don’t consider myself a collector, but I have been through several leather jackets and many pair of boots just looking for one that I can wear all the time and that fits right. I know each person is different, but it’s really astonishing to me how many companies make boots and jackets that just really aren’t comfortable or appropriate to wear around daily. I bought a Schott Storm last winter and I love it, but the sleeves are a bit long. If I can figure that out, I will have it a long time.
@@H..M.. If you can find a qualified tailor or seamstress with the right machines for leather the sleeves are usually the easiest part to adjust. I've heard that there are some online/mail-in services that can do that work too, but I don't have any references or links for you. Sorry. BTW-The Storm is a beautiful jacket and next on my list. ; )
@@bngr_bngr When the Malenottis left Belstaff, they joined Matchless. The hand waxed leather jackets are on par with those of Belstaff, if not slightly better in some cases. Pricewise it‘s the same.
Ralph Lauren, for years, made quality aviator-style jackets, approx $700, in brown and black, which I still pair w/ contemporary outfits and look great - absolutely timeless!!
I just wanted to say I been going to your videos for style and only your videos!! Since I was 12 and I'm 23 now and I'm still here. I just wanted to say I love your videos and I will always take your advice much love keep up the good work
I absolutely hate wearing leather jackets. They’re hot, stuffy and hard to stow. TBH I’m surprised people like wearing them casually. But since I spend most of my time on a motorcycle I’m wearing one nearly everyday. Dainese 😈
Leather jackets are my favorite confidence booster item. I have three (black, medium brown, lighter brown) and am planning to get a fourth (black with red accent lines).
You have put the nail in the coffin and have personified that men over a certain age should not wear leather jacket. I am nearly 50 and personally if you still want to venture in wearing leather jackets keep it simple and classic. Just keep up the good work and I look forward to your next video
I used to have a black jacket when i was in my early 20s, it felt so soft but im not sure if it was lambskin or cowhide. Is lambskin considered a leather?
I had a leather jacket in High school but nowadays I prefer a Bomber or Harrington. No hate at all though just my personal taste has changed a bit. It got a bit hot wearing it at times which isn't surprising living in AZ. Excellent and informative as always!
Black leather rules! Yea. Glad to see that my black leathered bro Andy Tate has had some influence on this youtuber of 'RealMenRealStyle'. I am a big fan of Andy Tate and his black leather fashion. I dig all of Andy Tate's black leather jackets. I also noticed the black leather jacket the 'RealMenRealStyle' wore in his other youtube videos is exactly the same style as my black leathered Andy Tate before he got arrested. The one with the stand-up collar! Cool. More black leathered bros on the internet! Yea.
Antonio, You speak of trying on the jacket to get full arm range, make sure of fitting, etc. but purchasing a jacket from JR Rocha is done online. Now I don't know about you, but I can't try on my computer, or are you just referring to the need to try on 'off-the-shelf' jackets and I should just shut up and keep setting aside $ for theirs?
Personally I prefer to only wear made to measure leather jackets, with big pockets inside ( to put my wallet inside or my cellphone or even a handgun), there’s nothing better than having a jacket that fits your body correctly since it has been made specially for you, and with the materials you have chosen!
I hate how short leather jackets are. It is hard to find a good leather jacket constructed right. Most don't cover the crack of my ask on my motorcycle including cafe jackets. Which is dumb because if you look at how cafe racers ride, you can see what I mean.
My friend, that’s not a biker jacket… 1) The sleeve zippers don’t tighten the sleeves. Both in your video and on the web sight, the sleeves are way too loose. 2) some biker jackets had quilting on the shoulders and elbows, before armor was in use. That contrast stitching without any filler looks like it was made by someone who has seen biker jackets in pictures, but never handled one in real life. It’s a real shame too, the leather looks like high quality, and the stitching looks pretty well done… If you want to rock a biker jacket, awesome! If you like fashion leather, also awesome! Room for everyone! But this is a fashion jacket masquerading as a biker jacket, and the look is super inauthentic. Biker jackets have double and triple stitched seams using bonded nylon or sometimes Kevlar thread. They are patterned to fit well while seated on a bike, leaning forward and arms out. The cut of this is all wrong. Too long in the body, too much room in the chest, it just looks like way too material is used. Anyone can wear a leather jacket, and wear whatever jacket you want, but sincerity is important. Look a Vanson, Bates, Lewis leathers, Langlitz, Schott, Cal leathers, aero, or lost world. There are so many better options. I have a Hein Gericke that’s a nicer jacket. I don’t like being so negative, but holding this up as an example of a good fitting, high quality, motorcycle jacket is really a disservice to your viewers.
Hi great video, I was wondering if you could help, I have a black cafe racer lambskin jacket will I be ok to wear a blue checked shirt underneath with dark blue jeans. thanks in advance 🙂
I actually bought a leather jacket for only 80 euros. However the sleeves were too wide, so I brought them in and sewed the sleeves back together by hand. It's not really noticeable unless you're looking for it. It's amazing what can be achieved given some time and patience.
i wear a reaper ring on my middle finger and tree of life signat ring on my pinky, both silver and on my left hand, i personally find the look quite nice especially paired with my watch on my right hand
I noticed that for the retro style motorcycle jackets, like the brando style, the snaps are off when seen in photos. What is your style opinion on whether they should be on or off?
Informative video. I like that you are enthusiastic without jumping around and being over the top. Kinda miss that relaxed yet engaging attitude from other fashion/style online gurus. To find the right leather jacket can be quite the quest. I see many good quality jackets but with boring designs or messed up details, like ugly hardware. Then you see really cool looking jackets which are affordabe, but as soon as you order them online, you get a jacket with stretched pores or scratches. So I'm always on the look out for the ideal jacket. May check out your sponsorship, but as I'm in Europe I don't know if that makes sense to order from Mexico. Cheers from Switzerland
Thanks for the video. You did a great job clarifying what big guys, like myself, shouldn’t wear. A few suggestions on what styles might be appropriate would have been appreciated.
One exception to the leather is casual example is the Germans officers leather raincoat. They look amazing with a suit as they were intended to be worn with a dress uniform
