Fits well into my space, I painted the back green. It's very easy to customize just the back if that's something you want to do. I would suggest sanding it first before painting, I got a little impatient. Good small shelf if you don't have much space, but not too small. Simple to put together, though you'll need your own tools, a screwdriver and a mallet/hammer, it's easiest to do with another person.

I have a few favorite books I reach for a lot, but they're a bit ratty so I ask for wallpaper samples at a local store and use them to make very simple covers for the books. They look better and now they also fit my color scheme!

For those who do want to keep a wired lamp on a shelf: if it’s not a white cable (if you have a white wall) you can make it look cleaner by using a cable channel, if that’s what it’s called in English. It’s like a square tunnel made of plastic that is used to hold several cables and keep them nicely, but it can work magic hiding ones that don’t match with your wall

I recently discovered something great for styling shelves - air plants. You can tuck them in among your bits and bobs, stick them in a vase, pop them on top of something, without worrying about the mess of dirt. take them out the mist or soak them and put them back when they're dry.

I got a shelf from the side of the road and I have lots of stuff like boxes and old stuffed animals also books and antic dolls (kinda creepy she moves and has a music box) and me and my dad when I could see him we would go to the thrift store or garage sale and get little glass animals plus all the notes from my dad it’s just a mess I have these old calico critters (I like to collect lol) and there just spread out everywhere *I honestly don’t know why I’m telling y’all this but*

I learned years ago these simple tips.1st)Place most favored collectible at eye level, in center of shelf so easily enjoyed, seen or used (radio, clock , photo, etc.2nd) On shelf below, place one item to left side and one item to right side.3rd)On shelf above first, place item to left side and item to right side.You have created an X of sorts. Fill in with other collectibles, books and necessities.Note: items to left and right can be books, boxes, frames, sculpture, things with height, stacked. Somehow, our brains respond to the X pattern and shelving doesn’t appear cluttered. Similar color wats, textures do the same. Try it.
