Bookending can look cute, but it isn’t visually lengthening. It depends on one’s goals, not everyone wants visual lengthening in every outfit, but I do.
Liked the suggestions. Good variety of styling ideas. Am not sure why you are so hesitant with maxi skirts. They are so versatile. That look so good in many ways. Thanks for the suggestions.
I like all the outfits with the flats except for the maxi skirt. I just think maxis are frumpy because of the heavy weight of the denim, unless you're very tall and very slender. I'm 5' 4" too and I don't think I could carry off a denim maxi. I think a lighter weight fabric in a maxi skirt would look lovely instead of denim. But that's just me. I enjoy all of your styling videos and find them so helpful.
Question...I am curious about the sizing for Loft. Some stores such as loft have their sizes meant for smaller, younger women so the sizes run small. I shirts and sweaters, what is your experience please.
those straps on the mary jane shoes look like little kid shoes,,, and they cut off the leg,, if no strap there is no cut off line down the length of the foot,,, all the problem i saw were those ugly shoes,,,, mary jane shoes are not good for anyone over 8 years old sorry
I personally think denim maxi skirts are frumpy no matter how you style them. 😂. I do like a denim midi skirt or one slightly shorter. Thanks for the suggestions.
I love the nude loafers. They're so versatile. I think the maxi denim skirt looks too long on petite people with flats. Better to pair with heeled boots. IMO
I will never give up skinny jeans no matter what. I don't follow fashion nor do I buy what's in fashion. I buy what I like and what flatters my figure the most.
Loved this video. Need to remember to always check the 1/3, 2/3 rule. So helpful when you show what doesn’t work as well as what does work. Struggle to find tops short enough.
My maxi skirt (Jean)have the slit in front looks so cute 🥰 I’m 5 /00feet tall Hourglass body figure 😊 . Is depend the fabric or how it combined etc etc
Bookending works on some people. It draws attention to the foot/shoe. I might be 5'4" but I have big wide feet, so I try to match my shoe to pant color or wear long pants to cover most of my foot.
I think dark cropped skinny jeans or cigarette jeans that show the ankle and dark ballet flats are a timeless Audrey Hepburn look that looks great on all body types. Maybe the best way to wear ballet flats. Even round toe ballet flats.
These different style of pants, straight, boot cut, etc. Increase the need to spend more money on shoes in order to actually wear them. Not a care for anyone who is wanting to spend less on these items.
I'm 5'8 but can't wear heels due to neuroma. So flats ALL the time. I really appreciate your examples! I can envision myself in similar items and use your advice on how to wear them. Thanks!
My favourite outfit here is actually the ballet-core one at 8:23 that you had doubts about, I think the reason it looks so good is that you picked a ballet inspired wrap top that speaks to the delicate ballet flats and our eyes pick up the theme so it's cohesive. I also loved the outfit at 10:17, at first glance those ballet flats look hard to style but they're so cute and surprisingly combinable.
Camel pants don't fit you . The black Mary Jane shoes look like their for kids . Black jeans look better on you but get a black shoe Ballet flats look terrible Also these sweaters with ruffle on the shoulder doesn't look good .cuts off the shoulder on a short person
I think the ruffle on sweaters and blouses look like little those of a little girl. Mary Jane shoes don't look at all smart, other wise you are very lovely.
I just want to say that I love that you rock your natural curls! I am trying to love my natural curls, too. Unfortunately, it's just not something we see often enough as "beautiful " or "current ". Your hair is beautiful!
Thank you! I decided a long time ago I would just go with my natural curls no matter what. It's so much easier to manage, and I actually like my curls. They are a blessing!
You are the best! I’m 5’ 5 5 1/2 size 4 and I can wear pointed ballet flats with work pants that are above ankle. I think height is key like you said. I’m tall enough. Love all your outfits in this video too but I don’t care for jean maxi skirt.
I love your sight trick, 9laying your middle body trick, and play your elbow/hips height trick to look large, and okay your shoes color ti play with your height, looking larger without cuttings your height trick with colors. I thought I explained my understanding well😅 Greetings from California
I never feel confident in flat shoes, I prefer a 2- to 2.75-inch, comfy heel. I’m 5’4”, but was always 5’6” in my youth, I suppose I’m trying to compensate for that. It was a shock when I was finally measured for height a few years ago (they only ever asked before at doctors appointments), no wonder I felt a bit stumpy! Plus, I had to lose 30 lbs., I was calculating my ideal BMI based on the wrong height, but felt fatty. The height loss seems to be in the torso rather than my neck and limbs, which look even longer, proportionately. It seems like a lot of shrinkage for my age, 63, but it might be partly attributable to the spine/disc disease I’ve always struggled with, too.
I like the black sweater with camel and black shoes contrast good with some clothes. I think nude shoe is good with light pants or if you have a dress on and you want legs to look longer. I love shoes and tired of the nude shoe l think it’s boring 😂 it will fade out eventually
Love you and your videos, but I think this one was a swing and a miss. The black flats unless worn with the black pants cut you off. None of your tops seemed to work with any of your pants. I did agree with your 1/3 rule. Your great, but not a fan of this one.
