Is it a V-Neck or Crew Neck sweater? I would only wear V-Necks with a dress shirt underneath to be honest. If it is a crew neck, I would wear a white T-shirt underneath. So that just a bit of white pops out at the neck. Apart from that, it really depends on which tone of blue it is. A navy sweater is easier to style than a bright blue or sky blue sweater as an example. I can give you a few recommendation that I love to wear, but you have to experiment what works for you. The two types of shoes that work best for a casual sweater looks are boots and sneakers imo. As an example blue sweater, beige chino and a brown pair of work boots and you are good to go. For sneakers, any white sneaker is the obvious choice. However, I think that retro runners work perfectly with sweaters. As an example, a grey pair of New Balance (like 997) or ASICS Gel Lyte 3s. You could also include other earth tones to spice up the outfit. As an example wear brown or dark green chinos. Combinations with blue and earth tones are endless and you can include matching or different colors with accessories like scarves, beanies and gloves. My last recommendation is to wear it with a nice outerwear piece. A grey coat works perfectly as well as a puffer jacket or puffer vest.

With Faux leather you will get stuffy but with but a light lambskin or a light goatskin you will not be stuffy at all. In fact goatskin keeps your skin cool when it is hot and it keeps you warm when you are cold. Lambskin is just really light and breathable. Not idyllic for the cold. As Lambskin and goatskin are breathable and very light you will not get hot and sweaty like Faux leather and cowhide. Would you wear Levi’s when it is 80+ degrees out? I don’t think so. Different temperature and circumstances requires different clothings. Wool coats are really really nice but not in the summer. Ultimately, wear leather jeans like they are normal jeans cause they are jeans. Jeans are jeans. Don’t settle for the cheap ones as they are stuffy. Settle for great quality and you will be just fine.

If your trying to try some leather pants banana republic has some dark blue wash goat suede pants that can pass as jeans. So you get the luxe of the suede leather, but due to the pigment, they really look like dark jeans until you really notice the suede shades.... I got them at full price but they are actually on sale right now

Leather is always breathable. Those infamous sticky pants are always made of plastic. Much like uncomfortable boots are usually made of faux leather.
