You kno... a lot of us artists, who are basically independent, don't have this kind of information around to help us get our music out there. This right here iss a spare key to opening the doors to the mainstream platform. Obrigado Inglisman👌
Sorry , i misspelled YANGAROO Music, the professional distribution platform used by labels, artists, managers, and promoters to deliver music and music video to radio, television, and other industry pros across North America.

Very useful information, thank you! You might want to mention that some (many) radio stations are corporate and will only play mainstream music released by record corporations that probably also own the station. They usually have very obvious call letters (the same for each city) like Rock102 or Love 106 or whatever. If you are an indy artist, corporate radio is a dead end.
Thanks so much for watching and your info! You are hundred percent correct. However, I was speaking about South African radio stations. Here in South Africa, Indy artists are still fortunate enough to have their music played on commercial radio and the radio station names here don’t always reflect the type of music they play.
This video really really helped , thank you so much , I also feel kinda honoured to be your 1000th subscriber , I’ve been trying to get my song “Kill Homies” on a radio because I really want to grow it’s publicity ,I believe it’s really good , and it’s good that you’re also based in South Africa so this helped , thank you so much , your opinion on the song would be great too man , thank you for the video 💁🏻♂️
CS Productions oh wow thanks so much! 1000th subscriber! It’s an honour to have you as that! Thanks for watching and I’m glad that my videos offered some value. As far as radio plugging is concerned, it is a tedious process but you have to keep at it and if one song doesn’t make it then there’s plenty of opportunity for other songs to make it. The key is not to get despondent. It’s a continuous process so just keep at it! With social media, the world has become a lot smaller so radio isn’t the be all and end all anymore. Some songs will have underground acclaim whilst others have commercial appeal but in no way is it a reflection of whether or not your song is good enough. It just means that it appeals to certain markets and not others! I wish you the best of luck and keep working! 🙏🏻

@@EBInglis hello inglisman I have a radio contacts over 30k stations worldwide do u think I should send a massive email blast or submit a handful of radio stations when emailing these radio stations what to say to them can you give me a example if u can hope to hear back from you take care
@@gottech5601 hi there! One email to all is simpler because of the amount of radio stations BUT it's always better to try and narrow it down to the stations who will most likely play your music. Music format is very important. You can't send a hip hop track to a station that plays classical music. 30K radio stations is pointless if 80% of them can't play your music due to different formats.
@@EBInglis thx for your help currently I'm narrowing down the stations its gonna take a while due to the long list but I know its gonna be will worth it plus I can resubmit to them in the future
great info, one question, you casually said that you phone them and asked to speak to their music compiler? how did you achieve that? cause radio stations don't wanna just connect you to certain management. any help will be great thanks
fojeba very much so. I’ve googled la yangourou and nothing shows up and if it’s anything like any other distribution service then that just takes care of online music stores and streaming sites. This is based on the SA music industry and it’s still very much reliant on radio plugging
After doing all your research, I suggest you start a business submitting songs for other composers and artists and charge a small fee per song. Knowing station genres and helping place songs correctly would be very helpful to those without your acquired knowledge base!
Thanks for that. We do have radio plugging companies in SA but the thing is when artists pay for the service, they expect guaranteed playlisting which cannot be guaranteed.
Thanks bro! I was wondering is that the process of submitting songs to radio stations of South Africa only or other countries like Australia too.. Thanks in advance.
LACHHIMAN BUDHA hi! Thanks for your comment. This video refers specifically to the process in South Africa. I’m not really sure how it works in Australia. Are you based in Australia?
Yes dude. I was wondering to submit my song on radio stations of Australia , someday . I was also wondering how would I get royalties after giving my song to radio stations if they play?
Unfortunately I don’t have knowledge of the process in Australia. As for the royalties. Your local performance royalty collection agency should be able to help you if you’re registered with one
No you shouldn't have to pay. If any radio station in SA wants you to pay for airplay of your songs then you have to report them as that is what is known as Payola and it is illegal in South Africa
Im a song writer trying to get my music out here but I don't know what's the best way to get the most royalties from my songs, how to promote myself, uploading my songs on Pandora and creating my own Pandora station hopefully you can share info with me.Thank you for your time. Cordially, Jose Romero
I’m based in South Africa and the advice I give caters mostly to the South African market. The US market works differently because there are more people with access to internet at cheaper costs. And the US is about 7 times bigger than SA. So my advice to you is to build a strong online presence. I’ve seen many artists in the states build successful careers without their music making it to radio whereas in SA a lot of artists still rely on radio AirPlay. Make videos of yourself showcasing your art and promote it on all your Social Media platforms
I don't know how it is in South Africa but here in old corrupt USA it's all about PAYOLA. Most radio stations play the same 12 songs over and over again. I have friends that work in radio and the top 7 spots are paid for. Unless your a Mega star only a am station will play you. You gotta PAY2PLAY.
I hear you Pedro! Although there have been accusations, there's been no concrete proof to implicate the music compilers and bring them to book. Most artists are scared to speak out because they fear not having any of their music played on radio.
Pedro Rodon which is also not really bad. The Situation is sad, but there is a good side - if big radio station would like to play your track but you need to pay for this space on the radio some amount of money it’s great. I suppose it is easier then get there attention for free. Of course depends from the price, but at list you can start to build your audience. I would like to have some connections to have this chance. Because knocking to the close door it’s a time, so it is better you spend your time to making new songs. I believe that all promotion needs to have a budget. Anyway don’t be sad! I believe all can works well, soon or later you will find your place in this business.
FOLLWED HIM YEAR AGO BECAUSE HE WAS TEACHING ME HOW TO MAKE A SONG AND HE LOOKED LIKE REECE...RECENTLY COMMENTED ON HIS POST SAYING: WISE WOMAN...HE AND WIFE LIKE MY COMMENT
@@EBInglis thank you! I didn't see this video when I sent my first single, but I'll definitely follow up sometime this week on my second single. Is it best practice to follow up with the compiler email address or just the normal info address?
Preston definitely the compiler. Some compilers don’t want you to send a follow up and they’ll say if you don’t hear from them after a certain period of time, then you should take it as rejected
ipLyricxVEVO radio AirPlay has nothing to do with Distrokid, Tunecore etc... When your song plays on radio and it’s registered with SAMRO then you will get paid performance royalties
I am not doubting what this video is saying; however, the truth is that radio presenters are bribed to play music. That is the most reliable way of getting your song played. They get sent so much music that there isn't enough time to listen to it all. Your job as an independent artist is to make a lot of great music and then pay the right people to get it played. Alternatively, build relationships with presenters.
Abdul J I understand why you might think that and I have another video that discusses payola. You might want to check that out as well. This video speaks to the radio stations that still run things ethically. Presenters might have influence but not the final say as to what gets played. The music compilers have that power. Yes there might be those who are corrupt and accept payment but there are many cases where people legitimately submit music, it gets heard in a music meeting and decisions are made as to whether or not it gets played.
Save Sinners Records thanks for watching and apologies for the late response. I’m not a big fan of pluggers unless I get to a point where I really don’t have the time and I have the financial capacity to afford a plugger. Otherwise I’ll just do it myself. A pluggers motivation is money. Very few put the song first. And also, no one can guarantee you airplay so why waste money on something that isn’t guaranteed. You’ve already invested so much in the production of the song and the marketing thereof
Trevor B unfortunately radio plugging is not a service I offer. There are companies and individuals that offer that service. My vlog is about teaching you how to do it yourself if you can’t afford to pay radio pluggers
