You can make a fully-functional fire pit using a sunken platform. It might not be quite as customisable, but you avoid having to drag your bonfire around for your sims to interact with it.
Hopefully you can help! I already had a house built and wanted to add this in so it prompted me to create a room in order to build a basement so I did and followed your video instructions. Everything looks great but my sims aren’t able to light it in live mode and I’m unsure why. They all give me the same response when I tell them to light it. A bubble appears above their heads with footsteps and a red exclamation point in it.
Yes that is the downfall of this particular idea - but if you watch from 4.12 it will give an explanation, as well as a way around it and also an alternative option ☺️
Sorry for the delayed reply - unfortunately base game doesn't really have any items that can be used. Outdoor retreat, Get Together and i think Island Living are the only packs that have any sort of campfire/bonfire that can be used in this way. Sorry!
The little campers kit also has a small metal fire pit which doesn’t look as natural as the others but you may be able to disguise it with debug rocks if you don’t like the metal look. It’s not base game of course, but a $5 kit is significantly cheaper than stuff/game/expansion packs and I think that kit is one of the best ones. I absolutely adore the gorgeous swing set, kids activity table, and “doll house” which look super hand made and unique compared to other packs and the dining table and chairs might be my favorite in the whole game and I have about half of the packs. I love the projector screen with string lights on it as well. Really every single item in that kit was so well done.
