You can learn How to Surface Crochet in this tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. Surface crochet is a technique where by you use a crochet hook and yarn and create a chain stitch on top of your work. You can make any type of design - words, numbers, shapes using this technique. Yes you can! You can use any stitch actually. I use single crochet in my sample mostly because it's easier to see on camera.

Thank you so much for this. Recently a friends asked if I could put the baby's name on the blanket I made. Now I guess I have to figure out if I should just make his name in block letters or if I should do it in cursive. I'm thinking cursive just so that I don't have to break off and weave in yarn. Anyway, thank you again. I'm sort of dreading though this name is kind of difficult. Preston. The P must stand alone LOL cuz I can't connect that 😂
