You are right but I would not recommend a Walmart as most of those buildings are just a steel frame with light insulating material on the outside, the would fall apart from the blast and there is not enough dense material to keep out the radiation. You're better off going down the subway, or into the parkinglot of a hospital

@@nicknunez5896 I wouldn't disagree that a subway or subterranean parking would be superior in terms of insulation, however the reason I stated walmart is because the roof is generally 30~50 feet high, the distance is what's important here, so even if they are steel buildings with minimal insulation, radiation is still subject to the inverse square law, and so the danger exponentially decreases with distance, so if radioactive fallout lands on the roof, its sufficiently far away that its the amount of exposure to radioactivity is still low. Then you have the added benefit of being in a location where you have access to non-perishable food, camping equipment, and tools. If you went to a subway or parking lot, you would need to have brought your own food in sufficient quantity to hold out for a couple weeks at least. If you're in a subway with vendors, you might have access to some food, but it might be exceedingly crowded and without proper rationing of food and crowd control, you could end up with a lot of desperate people in a small location, which is a recipe for disaster. On the other hand, Walmart should have sufficient food to feed most of the people there for a couple weeks, even if at or slightly over capacity, especially if they have pallets of drinking water in the back. Just some thoughts, lol. Cheers mate!
