the thing i love about this series is how mundane it feels, like all this stuff just happens in the most realistic way possible, no dramatic shots or music or anything also the dialogue is scarily realistic
I like how it’s becoming less of a documentary of Smooth’s transition to the hood and more of an overall series showing other characters alone and discussing their motives and feelings about what’s going on. Like the scene with Spice and the other dude with the subsequent scene where he took the gun.
@@0oz9ru kinda agree, that something needs to happen with his story, rn it’s that he had to go from the suburbs to the hood, had it rough at the start but now he’s otw to being the top drug dealer of the area. But I don’t think it needs to be a backstory I think the character needs to start realizing that this isn’t the life he wants to live and instead of trying to be the king of the slums he wants to succeed enough to move into better neighborhoods. That could ultimately be the point of the series, how to survive in the Hood? do everything you can to get out of it and live, and not settle for surviving.
Odawg definitely woke up too early, he should stay in the hospital for at least another few episodes so by the time he gets outta there the gang war has already escalated
@@Lucidius134I don’t think he’s really in it like that. He’s older now. It’s not like these videos are an accurate representation of his current life. Anybody actively living that way is not gonna be taking time to make RU-vid videos
I really hope this gets enough traction to catch the eye of a real movie director. I’ve always wanted an in depth movie about the street life. There just isn’t modern ones anywhere
The quality of this series writing, music choice, camera work and scripting is just getting better and better. Honestly hope you guys keep it up. Special effects could be a way to make it way better either pre or post for the gun scenes.
My girl and I watched all of season 1 together along with a lot of your other content, when I link this to her she just sent me back a bunch of exclamation points - you're killing it, smooth is killing everybody else. The reach on this is going to hit
Really nice to see some other characters get a focus for motivations, beef n intrigue as well. That scene near 7:50 wasn't too long or too short, you hit a good balance for that imo. Might dependvwith other scenes, but that one felt fleshed out and you could tell even during the scene that Ken wasn't over that. Then the next scene confirms it. I was honestly expecting Odawg to be out longer, but I won't lie I won't lie, that's a bit of anime brain talking there. Bit of "Grand Return" shit I'm used to. Reality is, sometimes it might just go that fast. I'm hella invested, good shit
I spent my childhood in a hood, but I never shot a dude or got shot at, or committed crimes, or neither let alone, was in a gang. However I did get into fights with other kids and settled beefs with them. But other than that. You could say I’m not a TRUE hoodlum, cuz I moved out in my early teens.
Damn this production value and story is better than half the netflix shows I watch. Some producer gotta have you all for an actual show, this could make numbers.
