Hello from Austria, we are a two person household with €2.800 + €1.600 of income and we have the following monthly costs: rent €550 (incl. utilities), food €300, internet/communication €32, car insurance €55, car fuel €50, car maintenance 50€, electricity €31, bank €10, TV €20, other insurances €30. So the fixed costs are €1.128 in total. Note that we have one small and fuel efficient car. Since it is a used car we put back €50 monthly to cover the costs of the yearly service. It is also worth noting that rent could be way higher, but we live in the middle of nowhere so it's rather cheap. And regarding food prices, we always buy it at discount or at special offers in larger quantities. If we would buy all of our food for regular price it would be double or even triple the amount. So as you see there are many ways to cut expenses, we operate pretty much on the low end of the spectrum.

I am from Poland and I live far better in Poland with the same kind of job than in The Hague just because of housing, health insurance or car costs or food. Crime not to mention. Older people live quite well but the younger generation has a rough time, it is more difficult than in my hometown Olsztyn in Poland where you earn in normal job 1200e but you have accommodation for 400e, cheap car, cheap food, free university, free public transport if you are young, free healthcare. Thanks for shedding a light on how you manage the day to day life with your salary. What about the housing cost? I assume you perhaps own an apartment therefore you don't have to pay rent. Say if you were to be paying the rent, how much would that be per month? I would also assume that the pay scale would vary very differently from city to city as the cost of living is different therefore it would be nice if you could provide your sudience with a bit of context, otherwise it doesn't make much sense. Спасибо, мадам for your interesting living costs presentation. If you don’t already do so, I suggest you do regular bookkeeping and register monthly income and costs, also for coming months. Prioritize - what is essential and among disposable funds what deserves priority. From my perspective there is a fair amount of fluff in your spending, but then again there are extra costs as a working gal, while I am retired. FYI in Turku, FI my monthly pension is about 1430 €, while rent is 670 € and food costs 300 €. From the remainder I also donate to good causes and the needy. Health being so vital, it’s good to find out causes for dis-ease (backache or whatever). Is it lack of proper nutrition or regular exercise, etc, and to set about remedying that! There are many ways to “stretch” money: plan ahead, cook your own meals and take to work, make use of thrift shops and free cultural events, etc. Удачи!

Luckily, I have paid off my house and saved enough money that we still receive 10,000-15,000 euros in dividends per year. These are taxed at 25% and only 7500-11250 euros remain per year. We use these dividends to pay all additional expenses. such as filling up the oil tank for the heating once a year. Car and building insurance, gifts and whatever is left goes on vacation. Hello from Romania, I just married a Russian lady, in december 2023 and I know very well, from her, how is life in Russia. She is from Moscow, where the salaries are bigger than in other cities. Her salary was 500 Euro. What I want to say is that when she comes here in Romania, she still thought as being in Moscow and when I went to the market she wrote me a list with what to buy and it was like this: - three tpmatoes; - two peppers, - half a kilogram of cherries - few onions etc. I told her that here nobody is doing like this, we are buying kilograms of something. Ans then she explained me that she couldn't afford to buy kilograms and the rest that you've explained very well in your video. Such a pity that a country such reach in oil, gas, minerals, technology, cannot offer (...for the moment) a better life to it's inhabitants. My wife explained me which are the main reasons (mafia, corruption, oligarchs, etc.). You are producing a lot of goodies, but most of them are being routed direct to export, for big money by the mafiots who captured Russia like an octopus. I wish you all the best and keep you hope alive. Better days will come, that's for sure !!

It's rich, okay, but I get my salary not from a country, but just from another person. So, our oil, gas, minerals don't affect my salary at all. There's no connection between them and the amount of our school clients.

Yes. Nearly all videos by both Russians and non Russians about Russia fail to include this historical fact into their accounts and perspective on Russia... Russians COULD be 10 times richer if it were not for the fact that during the dissolution of the USSR; 100+ thieving corrupt oligarchs bought up over 90% of the wealth of Russia... AND the subsequent fact: That Putin has protected these filthy rich billionaires for over 20 years... AND that as a result of this, the entire Russian govt and military became even more corrupt than it was during the USSR.
@indrekkpringi

Yes: exactly. All the economic statistics and figures that shows Russia to be a rich country have absolutely nothing to do with the welfare of the Russian people. This a huge misunderstanding by western people. Russia is is two separate states: One are the ordinary people. The other are the criminal mafia govt and oligarchs and police state thugs. As Natyrusa said; there's no connections between them

As a Moscow dweller I can tell you that the income difference is very significant. A typical paraprofessional office worker salary in Moscow ranges from 30 - 70 thousand, depending on your experience and place of work. Middle-class income in a professional sphere is anywhere from 60 - 500 thousand. Just for reference, a bus ticket in Moscow costs 65 rubles. A taxi ride is typically around 1000 rubles within city limits, but can vary anywhere from 400 - 3000 depending on distance, time of day, weather, etc. A weekly trip to a grocery store for one person is around 2000 rub. A comfortable, stress-free middle class life is around 150 thousand rubles a month if you own property. And for renters it's about 220 thousand. Obviously, these figures are only an estimate based on my own experience in Moscow and I'm sure they vary from person to person :)

You'd pay a third of your current transportation expenses! Finally, you're eating out all the time and having luxurious coffees, which is quite uncommon -and unsurprisingly pricy! From what I can see, prices relative to minimum wage are lower for ordinary goods like food, transportation, internet and telecom than in France, yet far more expensive for luxury goods like massage and top-notch coffee. The huge difference is that here, taxes are high and rents and commodities eat up over a third of one's budget

@natyrusa
@natyrusa Месяц назад
