HOW TO SWITCH DISTRIBUTORS WITHOUT LOSING STREAM COUNTS OR PLAYLISTS 

One thing I just want to make absolutely clear is that you can do this process with any distributor, it doesn't have to be just AWAL and Distrokid. I hope this video helps you make the change safely and without losing any placements or streams!

Hi Ryan, I've watched a lot of your videos just now, but I haven't found one that addresses a question I had. How to start a record label? Should you start an independent label?? How did you establish yours? See, I produce music independently and I was trying to figure out if there is a legal /business benefit of establishing my own label? Should I?? I've found information that suggests that it is a good idea to create your own Label for tax and business purposes. I could write off equipment, software, and other tools that I need for producing. I could also sign a contract to myself, just the legally protect my intellectual property. Your thoughts? I'd love to hear them. Thanks for the videos, they've been very insightful and helpful

So like would my artist profile that had my music distributed through distrokid still be up and the new one with my new distributor so there's be 2 artist profiles? I guess when we have about 1 or 2 streams in the last 365 days we don't have to worry about following all these steps. One positive thing about not getting any streams and or listeners on a platform thats used by milliions.

Regarding your note from 5:20, Im currently moving from Spinnup to Ditto and on Spinnup they say you should do as you say, keep your release live until you have successfully moved and reuploaded your music, meanwhile on Ditto they say that no you should remove your original release before you re upload so it doesnt create duplicates.. Any advice or help on this????

Hey man! your video was very useful. Appreciate it a lot. Just one thing you didn't mention because I'm not exactly in the same position you were in and I still have access to my music on DK. After I transfer everything safely to another distributor should I removed it from DK once it goes live and the "overlap" has taken place.

DistroKid has its on UPC code but I have put the same ISRC codes will it still be the same?

Thank you for this! I could not find a way to keep your SAVES on the tracks you move. Once the track has been successfully moved from one distributor to another, you stay on the same playlists, you do not lose stream counts , but it is impossible to keep the SAVES on the track. So all the people who saved your track and added it to their library, will no longer have it there :(

Good video. I have a question. Did you have any problems getting your stream count back on RU-vid for your releases? I found that when I moved 2 songs from 1 distributor to another my RU-vid stream count reset to 0, but my Spotify and Apple Music stream count transferred over fine.

The only thing is that I have not been banned but they have deleted all releases, and the payment section (all the months of payments I don't see them anymore). I only see the stats and artists.
